  1. What tools are used for reshaping these cases?
  2. WHAt did you use for shaping?
  3. bump this, I am looking for a source for open 6 and 9 DWO for eta. Champagne and white. Any idea?
  4. You can really just look at cheap plating and tell that something is afoot.
  5. I'm relatively sure most gen-spec cases for aluminum submariners are designed for 2824. 2836 is a great movement though. It it just depends. BP has a classical submariner with a miyota that has received great reviews for a great price. Just don't expect to throw any genuine parts in it with the exception of maybe the insert. It all comes down to what you want to spend and how close you want it to be to perfect. If youre building a two tone 16613, you'll want 18k gold bezel, not plated, and that alone is 500ish. Just to put it in perspective.
  6. You just need to decide what you like more. I personally like the previous generation subs with alumin inserts as opposed to the newer bulkier subs with ceramic inserts. Just taste. 16613s are tricky and not a single one is great out of the box. All great 16613s are hand built and are about 1500$ minimum. Mine totaled just shy of 2k.
  7. They are different watches. Ones an aluminum 5 digit, and the other a ceramic 6 digit.
  8. eBay seller riyi002 sells some higher quality TT bracelets.
  9. very curious where this dial would have come from.
  10. I was actually under the impression that only one factory produced the SMPC.
  11. Thanks for the reply, I guess a non ceramic Smp bezel does not fit on a rep SMPC case
  12. Did swapping the crystal for GEN allow the fitment of GEN bezel? I have a franken SMP with a SMPC case and the stock rep bezel... couldnt fit the gen bezel and I have a gen crystal laying around... Did swapping the crystal for GEN allow the fitment of GEN bezel? 13. While removing the crown on my franken SMP w/asian 2824 (POS) I managed to mess up the keyless(go figure)... upon reset of the keyless and subsequent reintroduction of the stem and crown... the stem snapped. I have never dealt with a new stem before. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Also, has anyone experimented with installing gen swiss parts on an asian movement? If so, would the keyless be less prone to [censored]ering if genuine keyless parts were used? I cannot get a stem back in to save my life. I have no issue with the keyless resets, but its a pain in the ass to have to do EVERY time. I never have an issue getting them out, just back in...
