  1. Corgi, just wanted you to know that my parents saw your pic, fell in love with your TT Sub, and we got that similar watch you see my mother wearing above because of you. Thanks so much for being an inspiration!
  2. Hey Beo! If indeed that is my buddy from Repgeeks, I give you a hearty welcome to RWG! If it isn't, I still give you a hearty welcome to RWG! Enjoy your stay! (He's got great taste guys)
  3. MONDAY I don't think anyone really reads my intros to each photo. So today, no talk. Just rep watch pics. My new Chanel J12 Superleggera from RWG member, Garethsm. TUESDAY PAM 118 with tobacco dial from RWG member, CzarCzar (first forum purchase ever) -- on a Micah Copperplate strap. Background: Mother wearing Silix Rolex Submariner in blue/gold. Louis Vuitton "pochette" handbag (gen).
  4. Out of sight! I've seen a few like these, but not for YEARS. It's got similar lines as the one worn by JFK.
  5. Around the same time $400 became a cheap rep.
  6. This is true, sadly, Toadtorrent. They know I'll be back, and a lot. As I said earlier, it shouldn't be the case in life. All buyers should be treated alike, but life doesn't work that way. What gets me is this -- do they (whomever, the staff member that put it in the package, even) think we won't notice? That SOMEONE SOMEWHERE will say, okay, well there we are, and not complain? Thus they'll be rid of that godawful piece, like jkarpas got? Ugh, God, come on. We're not fools. @JKarpas: On paper, you should get credit for everything, including shipping. But yeah, usually they give you a nicer watch and that's it. However, since we have options, I wouldn't return to that seller if he doesn't compensate you in some way, for ALL your monetary losses.
  7. OH! Hang on, this reminds me. The other day I was in a seedy part of Miami, waiting for my mum to come out of this shop, when I notice this Rico Suave Hispanic guy kept giving me the eye. And in fact, licking his lips at me. All he needed was a crotch-grab. I was reminded of John Leguizamo's standup routine in drag, where he shouted, "Take a pic-tcha! It'll last you longa!". So I did. You make me hot, papi!! Especially the lycra Kelly green shorts. Ahh, gotcha. I searched all over for that thread, and couldn't find it, so thanks for remembering.
  8. I CANNOT describe to you how much I love your collection, but particularly THIS STRAP COMBO. It makes my heart sing.
  9. Ah, but is this true? Didn't someone recently post a still photograph suggesting that in Bond 22, the PO is not going to be the watch of choice? It was IIRC, a shot of Craig in character as 007. Now, it could be that they were doing preliminary photography, and the cameras weren't officially rolling.
  10. I love you. That is all.
  11. Hey fellow rep watch geekette. I'm guessing the answer is that not all rep watch PAM bracelets are made the same. Indeed, not all cases (and therefore lug ends) are made the same. It all depends what you buy.
  12. I just read something else you wrote, and that's what counts for me. Stay tuned for a more personalised response, as I am just getting in from the pool. My head is too boiling with the sunrays to make sense (that's my story even when it rains, though). P.S.: Thanks. No. Just no, DBR. Sincerely no. People can rationalise, intellectualise, and justify downloading mp3s, torrents, photographs, owning rep watches, whatever. God knows I do. But once you lose sight of the fact you're doing something wrong, that slippery moral slope becomes a mountain. If you're a human bulldozer as TTK is, and frankly, as I am, you don't care. I personally have tonnes of balls, the kind which allows a girl to come to an all-male forum, and more than hold her own. Not everyone is like that. Not everyone can be like that. Not everyone should be dismissed because they're not like that. You know what? You're right. I have a hunch he's going to come a-cropper sooner than later. I think most of us do too. But the thing you and others said about the Risti forum, about them being a bunch of snobbish arrogant tossers, well guess what? A lot of people think that about us. Ask around the other rep watch forums: RWG.CC has the reputation of being full of arrogant snobs, full of themselves, unhelpful to newbies asking questions. We're also known as being clannish to the point of being cliqueish. Is this true? Not on your life. We have standards. We have people who respect horology, and adore their hobby. We also have people who respect each other to bits, and that creates a beautiful atmosphere of camaraderie. So be careful what you think about a forum, people. It may just be we cast that same long shadow ourselves.
  13. EXACTLY. I was going to write everything thusly, except the Batman thing which was genius. BTW, it's not JUST that his Disciples were fishermen. It's that Jesus Christ was a fisher of men. We are his fish, as Christians. Though we don't now have them on our cars, I too had the fish symbol on my car to denote my active Roman Catholicism. To some people, there are strong possibilities Jesus didn't exist. We all have agendas. Yes, and in the original Hebrew the commandment we have translated as "Thou shalt not kill" is really "Thou shalt not murder", a very different meaning indeed. Better to know, and not to believe, than not to know and still talk.
  14. You wrote this: "what is the big deal its not death row for owning a rep and i cant realy understand your point at all." To people who saved forever to buy a watch of their dreams, owning a rep watch may just be the WORST thing any person there can do. Well, perhaps the worst thing is to sell one there. And anyone who is a dual member of this forum, or is outted there as having owned reps will never be able to sell their stuff again. Who is going to trust a person like that, they'll think. There are mistakes. There are sins. And then there are crimes. To some people, especially if they are in the "right", it's all the same. This we can agree on. And I said so publicly on a number of occasions. This is why I have the same forum ID everywhere.
  15. Hold that thought, guys! If you want to see how they look, before buying, wait a sec. I had set aside my Micah Copperplate strap for Monday's Wrist-Check. Coincidence, Chieftang!
  16. Clive suggested that in my Stains on Straps thread. It's okay. It will leave a darkish residue on some straps, as if wet (E.g., Savage's British tan strap). One just has to be careful with the grain of each strap. Ooh! Nice. An alternative to mink oil, yes? I read from Tootall that that can rot the stitches.
  17. I was going to bid, but now, given the other thread where I am laying myself down as some kind of sacrificial lamb my motives might be looked on with suspicion. Certainly by some members... But what the hell. I am what I am. USD100.
  18. There is a resemblence that has been remarked...but she's about 100 lbs lighter than I am. I could barely tell her apart from the ship skeletons in Pirates of the Caribbeans... LOL! Hey! I know my sunglasses. Those are 80s Lacoste knock-offs.
  19. I agree with what you said further to this, but this sentence is just not right, b16a2. If he fled, his motivation might've been that he was scared. But he still SCAMMED people. We need our Mods here to finally, please, add their voices. If it's decided someone approaches their Mods, I'll take the fall. They know I'm a rep owner already, and even when I become legit next year, they won't interact with me, or very little. So let me contact their mods and lay it out about what happened on RWG. But for that, I need to know what happened exactly, because it was before my time here. If someone would point me to a thread, or post their stories here, with details, I'll relay portions of it, without IDs. However, I won't do a thing before the Admin team or Moderation team pipe up. To bring in RWG in everyone's name is merely revenge. @B16a2 below: If that is so, then Ken wouldn't have said he told a few porkies about only 1 person not having been restituted. I suppose we need to revisit the horror stories here, and see what was done to whom, and what were the outcomes.
  20. I remember during the Lanikai/Flavor Flav debacle, you were amongst the first braying for Lanikai's blood. You're a very rash, unthinking young man, from what I can see. I'm sorry. But if you think it's not a deep insult to people who scrimp and save, or just spend their hard-earned money to buy a genuine watch, just to have others thumb their nose and buy a rep watch for a few hundred, then what can I say? Let me be clear AGAIN. I'm no better than you. I buy rep watches too. The difference may JUST be that I know what I am doing, with all its moral implications. You seem not to know. If I'm wrong, I apologise.
  21. People there know squat about fakes, people. Listen to Kruzer00. They won't think you're doing them a favour. They'll think it's some sordid little squabble between present fake owners and ex-fake owners, and nothing more. That's EXACTLY how they'll think. I already predict the message titles. How can you own a fake and expect to be believed here? (nt) You got what you deserved (nt) Mods can you ban these people? Mods can you ban these people reply: It makes me sick these people are here, who else is a rep owner? And so on. And they would be totally in the right too. There might be a silent minority of people who think it's okay. As I said, I know there are many famous Risti members who dabble on both sides of the fence. They even sell their "Aftermarket" obviously DSN bracelets on the Accessories Corner. They get away with it. How I don't know. But they do. But the vitriol is real against rep collectors. Moreso than any other gen forum I've read. Maybe others at this point would like to chime in...
  22. Perhaps you missed a very important post on top, where I spoke about this, DBR. I can't believe you would write this if you had read what I wrote they tried to create mischief about me. Let me be clear: Someone already outted me. They know I am a rep owner. I am not concerned about ME. I'm concerned about OTHERS who are still on the down low there. This person is up to no good, but until he actually DOES something there, what happened here happened HERE. The most we can do is to warn their Admins/mods, IMO. Anyone want to do more, they are acting out of revenge, and not to share information. Worse, they're taking others with them. Now, DBR, I am tired of asking for apologies from you. You constantly feel you have to take me down a peg, for my expressing opinions. I like you, but it's enough. You need to modify your attitude towards me because it's unfair.
  23. What about jock itch?
  24. Please, please be careful guys. This could snowball into a cause celebre for all gen/rep dual forum members. I would suggest, if someone here is very adamant on outting him, to approach the admins/mods of the Risti forum, rather than a shaming post which he could use for mudslinging with others. I feel very sorry for members who have been here for a while, who then bought a gen PAM, and are there now too. They'll surely be outted by this man, in retaliation. And then what?
