  1. Mwah! Don't tell my boyfriend! (I have to be careful since he's been reading RWG more often lately. Dem Eyetalians sure have a temper. Hehe. But then, so do I)
  2. Well, let's put it this way, X. Shortly after posting "enough's enough" here, I saw FxrAndy's new strap offering, and immediately plunked myself down for a custom job. So, no. My problem too. Thousands of dollars later, I have to stop. I just don't have more money now... THAT'S WHY I STARTED THIS THREAD. It doubles as a Strapitis Support Group!
  3. Pray for our sinners. (Just practising for Sunday Mass) Noooo. As I have said once before, I am emphatically NOT a shoe lady. That's my mother (maybe 500 pair...I'm not kidding). I'm a watch/perfume/toiletries/makeup/handbag/purses/pens girl. Dozens if not more, of each.
  4. Guess what? I got it yesterday and it looks nothing like this off-pink-white strap above. It's just "naturale" tan...sigh.
  5. Yes. Ain't it grand? P.S.: Almost doubled my haul this week. Enough's enough, except for one or two, that's it.
  6. Especially the ones going out of business! (Don't laugh. A collector told me one person was forced to severely curtail his activities. Don't know who) Yeah, I was scared of that, AllergyDoc. So I went to Risti and kinda followed Aaron around in his thread there, asking if he had any news about it. Well, one month after I ordered the Spartacus "strap", it arrived...no comms throughout, because his email was down. Good luck to you, AllergyDoc!
  7. ME! Love the strap you made. Wouldn't have to be perfect, but I'd like to order one (if the price is right *g*).
  8. I got it bad. BAD. Come on guys! Show your straps!
  9. Welcome, Cyphion, from a fellow newbie! I too have been searching for (rep) logo buckles in polished or even brushed steel. If you guys have tips please PM us. Recently, a guy who was selling logo buckles on *bay was shut down for doing so (he doesn't list them as OEM, but pretty close, so Panerai put their foot down). He's in Florida. If I get word that he's re-registered, I'll PM you, cyphion.
  10. Hold that though, love! You inspired a post. Haven't picked them up yet (remember that's not my addy), but I see on the USPS site that they should be there. I was waiting until I had concrete news to PM you, fear not! @X: You won't be disappointed! Zeugmas, and Micah's (vintagerstraps.com -- don't tell him you've got reps...) are the most underrated straps around, IMHO. @Ubi: Nice to see the twins again!
  11. Ahh, the Cubans! I looooove Cubans. I must be the only person in South Florida who isn't Cuban, who does. Sigh. They get such a bum rap. But they ARE noisy. I will show my parents your watches, SSabripo, since they think I'm the only person here with this crazy rep collection habit.
  12. Stick Sticky Sticky! Had a Lord of the Rings quality, with all that nebulous mythical crap.
  13. Gotta love this thread!
  14. Great shot, neighbour! There's nothing like setting up your watches that first time, half-excitedly, half-embarrassedly, looking over your shoulder to see if there's anyone watching you (especially that snooty, judgemental neighbour...there's always one). And then, you look at the fruit of your labours in your camera LCD, your watches like the crown jewels shown in the Tower of London on the screen, upload it to your computer, post it on RWG, and you know it was alllll worth it. Great stuff, Ssbabripo!
  15. IS THIS YOUR STRAP??! Wow, FxrAndy, you're a freaking rockstar! Respekt!
  16. The strap is a triumph, TMG! That's what these Wrist-Checks are made for, and is not a hijack, IMHO. By the way, I got my own Zeugma yesterday. A dazzling colour somewhere in between butterscotch pecan, and dark blond chewing tobacco. Next to the PAVs and Simonas, the most expensive one yet. I have two to go: the Delaurian and the XaMas straps, and then I'll have collected all the PAM-centric straps I really covetted. The Zeugmas are great, but I believe the guys in Turkey no longer custom-make them. If they have them ready-to-wear, great. If not...? Just curious. @Ssabripo: looking goooood! Great choices! @Stephane (again!): I liked the other choices better...it's too dress down for you. Don't hate me.
  17. Caveat: I heard he doesn't speak English very well, but he seemed to speak it very well with me (maybe he has someone answer his more intricate emails?). This is a quibble, but so far, I have asked him followup questions in emails about other DSN models I'm interested in buying from him, to which I haven't even received a "Sorry, Vic, no longer in stock". So, I'm left wondering if it's what I said above (lack of English), or if he's checking to see if he has them in stock, or what. Very minor quibble, but there we are.
  18. I thought Franz-Josef Strau
  19. Yeah, small German towns at night, which have roving Romanian gangs which behead their victims are really creepy. I personally know hundreds. Oh yes, definitely. I know when I am accosted by strange men at night, pulling out my mobile really scares the bejesus out of them. "Let's get lost! The girl has T-Mobile, she's trouble!".
  20. Maybe this is nuts, but the more of the tschokes I receive with the straps, the more I am inclined to want to return, too. Off the top of my head, these strapmakers offer: - Timeconnection.biz: Sealed plastic holder and business/thank you card. - Manuffature Firenze: Trademarked cotton "sock". Very handy. - Simona: Cute (leather?) pouch. - StrapCulture: As pictured above. - Zeugma: Suede/leather pouch. - Greg Stevens: Long beige cardboard holder with "Greg Stevens" marked on it in black. Business card. - Paw Marker: Long black cardboard holder, protected by white cardboard slide-in, dangling Paw Marker fob. - Strapworks: (Still to receive) ? - Strapcode: (Still to receive) ? - Metta Catherina: Certificate of guarantee of 200 year-old leather. Any other goodies you can think of, which strapmakers send alongside their straps? @Stephane: Wow, a Daylight. Very nice additions coming too! Somehow you can wear anything and it looks good, Stephane... @Scoobs: Say"Happy Birthday" to my fellow Leo, Scoobs! Alas, no fresh wristie. I am really upset since last night I broke another nail in my wrist-check left hand...I need red fingernails, stat! I'll let you into a secret, guys. I think PAMs look masculine on women if said women don't have an awesome manicure to match. Maciek's girlfriend, Ola, had a French manicure which really highlighted the PAM Purdey Lion, and gave that huge watch a feminine air. Ditto with me, long varnished nails and my PAMs. So, no mani, no Pannie.
  21. Once again, as I posted on RWI with an update, my prayers to Ken, Maya and their family. I'm sure he'll be up, and moderating in no time!
  22. Why change a great thing, right? See you, Jeff! Guys, minor catastrophe. I broke my middle-finger nail on my Wristie hand. Makes my hand look awful. I don't know why, but it just does. So I'm going back to red nails for the Start of the Week Wrist-checks.
  23. Quick, someone email Joshua. If they both bounce back...then they ARE the same person.
  24. Don't be concerned. Andrew checks his emails with maniac frequency, and though it doesn't sound like one, that's actually a compliment. What might've happened is that all his pending/potential customers must've emailed him. Since he's obviously gone somewhere, he probably hasn't had a chance to clear his Inbox, is all. Not sure, but a guess. I myself was waiting to send him an email about the 3 PAMs I received this Tuesday, since I was observing them before emailing him that all was well. Good luck!
  25. P.S.: I bet you my right udder the one with the flowing pup tent is a hypocritical Merc-owning, Halliburton shares-having, Pacific Heights-dwelling freakazoid. Can't fool me, you boutique-hippie! I wonder if Regine reads these forums...
