Just came from having watched There Will be Blood. WOW. What a tour-de-force by DDL. It was like a cross between Citizen Kane, Treasure of the Sierra Madre, and von Stroheim's Greed. I'm overwhelmed.
-
Going to watch it in a few moments. FINALLY! Hours before the Oscars. Rxus, I'm wearing my Cartier Tank, so if you see me, wave.

Funny you should say that... I was searching for new watches just now, and liking Chopard (I have the Happy Sport in gen), I saw this and remembered UB7's thread. Chopard Orange Chronograph For the fifth consecutive year, Chopard was alongside Elton John at the famous White Tie & Tiara Ball, which he organises in the early part of each summer at his Windsor property. At the event, Chopard unveiled the latest edition to the Elton John collection: the “Orange” chronograph. Dazzling and fresh, the orange hue of this chronograph alternates with the silver grey of the hour-circle and the three auxiliary counters. Available with a matching crocodile wristlet and a polished steel clasp, it combines brightness and elegance. Produced in a limited edition of 2,000 pieces, it bears the Elton John signature. A large share of the profits made from the sale of these watches is paid to the foundation, which for twelve years has been active in the fight against AIDS. (Well, at least moneys are going to a worthy cause) I wonder if he had on an orange tiara? UPDATE: Photo from the event in 2007. That answers that...

Thanks so much. I will either use the OEM coramid or the Don carbon, which I also have. You saved me a bundle!
-
Wow, I think this applies to the Toscana one too, then. It's got leather backing. Just to be clear, since I'm a little unsure as yet about these things: You mean the Coramid A-series carbon you have, which you showed on the Sardinia beach? 'Cause I have that.

Let's make it easier for the true experts. Last week's shots (the best you've ever posted, IMHO): Can't see it. I am still no where close to having your eyes' for detail.

My little rep combo of PAM 111h and DSN bracelet gets the most second-looks, "wow!"s, and "Nice watch!" of ANY of my watches, gen and rep alike. I know precisely how this person feels. The natives are restless...

Wait, one can't go diving or swimming with the OEM carbon?? Swidivad, wow, if true that saved me big money, thanks! I'm so sorry. This stinkiness makes me stay far far away from Strap Culture. I can't afford to get a second bad strap from them.
-
I know. I'm surprised at Capice for suggesting that. Ooh Dettol! I'm homesick now. That's still the best disinfectant I've EVER used. But no, the US doesn't have that specific one here, but there are variations of it. Let me buy one -- I'll report back. EDIT: Found this. Nearly identical. THANKS, Mr. V!

DSN 232 - How is the dial? Picky people wanted! :)
Victoria replied to chad's topic in The Panerai Area
YIKES! That is depressing considering all the work you went through, and reassurances that it would be all right. I'm sad now, Chad, sorry. @Chad: That is bad. I'm sure he'll take care of you, but really, we shouldn't have to be taken care of TIME after TIME. I'm not just talking of DSN. He's a nice guy, they all are. But this is a bad business practise, endemic to the Far East. -
A heady opinion, but since you're a very well-known, seasoned member, this makes me sit up and notice, AD. See, TeeJay? This is what I fear. I'm pretty sure he takes care of his older, repeat customers, but I have a funny sensation he doesn't with the newer ones. I got rid of Paul, because of these lemon problems, and so far, I would only return to Jay, who has similar QC issues (like those who have dealt with Tony, that's because there's an established relationship). ...although Sssurfer is apparently an older, repeat customer -- having to send 3 bad watches in a row, well, not good. Sssurfer, thank you so much for this review! I am still in your debt, for which I cannot apologise enough. More hopefully soon.
-
First and foremost, thanks for keeping the forum abreast! This is interesting news. My first reaction is, eh. It looks like any old bracelet, not the

Ditto! Thank you, Sssurfer! 29 downloads and counting. Guys, this is the PAM motherload. Don't be shy to GOBBLE it.

(Mods, this applies to any strap, but if you feel it more appropriate please remove it to the Panerai section!) I have a Strap Culture strap which smells of death. A mixture of turpentine, mothballs, and Clapham Common Filling Station. I've tried absolutely everything on it, from Coach leather cleaner, to Lord Sheraton, to Chelsea "Leather Food", to Lexol. Nothing gets the stink out. So desperate am I, since it cost north of U$100, that I considered immersing it in water... Any tips on getting this unbelievable strap stench out?

It's Michael Owen after being in Ibiza for 300 years, Count Dracula's younger brother, and the Simpsonized Andriy Shevchenko.

To think, the real Italians across the ocean are so wonderful! This chap would never wear a Big Bang Carrot. ...this one might though.

Tsk. Geo, the easiest way is to go back, once you have refreshed the page, and you can alter your rating.

Ugh. I hate the Big Bang Carrot.

MUCH more comfortable. Not as scratchy and envelopes the wrist, clinging without effort. Most people wouldn't spend $100 or so dollars for an OEM rubber diver (via Risti), but if you guys can, do. Golfman, did you post photos already of your 111? I am giving you an agree, thinking you already did, if not I'll change it.

Bad day at the PAM assembly factory...

Very simple. Too simple. Girl simply went up behind her brother (correction!), to hug him, and his mate holding the camera said make a funny face. I believe they were at a ski lodge, but I'm not sure! I got permission to use the photo, so long as I never revealed the names.
