Until I went to the cashier to pay for my overly expensive mani/pedi/highlights.

As I was leaning over to take out my credit card, there comes a black stylist who had been in the "station" next to me, who looks at my wrist, leans over the counter and high-pitch, sing-song screeches at me:

"OMG! IS THAT A PANERAI!?!"

(With a tone half-orgasmic, half-drugged, as if Sir Elton John had sent him the key to his chalet for the weekend, I hasten to add)

"Uh, yes, yes it is."

That's all I could muster in retort, along with what I think was a nice smile.

So that's my little "gay Panerai" tale for you today. Hope that made your burly male egos burst with pride.

let's face it.. some of you guys make out $800 to be something crazy

but then i see people posting how they've just bought like 4 PAM's from Davidsen for example, and each one is like $400 = $1600 total and somehow, that is ok but spending $800 is not?

I don't know.. to each his her own..

some people are addicted to reps and buy repeatedly, they don't seem to add up how much they've just spent in a month or two but somehow, dropping $800 for one purchase borders on crazy? I don't get it..

me personally, I have 1 rep (UPO) and 1 rep for my dad ($95 Rolex YM) but I am tempted as hell to try and sell my UPO to recoup some money and then just buy this beauty of a watch

the only thing that stops me is that anyone who knows Hublot knows how much they worth and can probably call you out wearing a fake if they so choose.. so yea I kinda like to fly under the radar a bit and Hublot is anything but subtle

that stopped on the 2007-06-28 entry until it arrived in the USA on 7/01, basically for 3 days it just showed that last line as being despatched from china.. seems it's like this for others i've seen too which makes sense because all it says is that it left china and is on the way to wherever it's going

I dunno I guess I don't test the reserve after all..

what I mean is that the two reps I've gotten so far basically come in and they're already ticking.. I guess from the shipment movement and whatnot so I just wear them and this is the first extended off my wrist period and I want to see if it'll survive a weekend of non-wear (Survive being if it'll still be tickin)

but yea.. i know some people have written/posted their rituals of what they do once they get a new rep but I just hit the ground runnin I guess.. if it was already tickin when I got it, I don't wind it 40-50 times.. I just wear it and use it normally :X

thanks for the responses guys, I don't do the manual winding cuz well.. I don't know superstitious I guess I just use hand/wrist/movement but I'm gonna test it for this weekend, I took this UPO off last night when I got home and pretty much not putting it back on until Monday so let's see ^^

question to evryone, how long have you had your UPO off before it stops ticking?

I'm gonna switch up styles this weekend and go back to a gen Tag IRL 500 limited

and was wondering if by Monday, my UPO would've stopped tickin already..

I just got a Rolex YM (TWP) as a belated father's day gift and it looks spot on.. my dad loves it and frankly I'm surprised because I wasn't really considering a YM but well for the 'cheap' price I gave it no afterthought really.

but yea, so far

UPO - Andrew and YM - TWP and both came out fabulous..

I think mostly go with good reputable dealers and more often than not, their products will come thru.. the real test for me will come when I get a dud and then I want to see how the dealers respond to it ^^

lol so I ordered my first rep from Andrew, got the tracking, shipped by EMS but I'm curious..

how does that translate to the USA? Does it get handed off to USPS?
