FYI the gen single sided AR is very hard to see. The color tint is almost undetectable - sometimes in florescent lighting you can see some blue/purple at the edge of the crystal. But that's about it.
If you have a very noticeable purple, then that's not right.
FYI
The Brindle arrived and I've had it on my 196 for a couple days now... It's slightly stiffer than some of his other straps, but not too stuff and plenty comfortable. It looks great.... and SMELLS great!! I'm almost tempted to see how it tastes.
The ROO is one of my favorite watches for sure. The deep rehaut definitely contributes to it's beefy look IMO.
I didn't realize there was a seconds at 12 rep, either.... Hmmm. Creative setting of the chronograph?
Of course it varies from watch to watch. Not all manufacturers are using the same coating. The very subdued tint is just most common. Great pics of the gens there. Pretty neutral white in the middle with some blue and purple around the edges on the Breit. The 3717 is just a little blue. This is a great illustration.
Nice, bosk. The older / bluer coating is still available from the new coater as well. This one, to me though, is much better and more accurate. The extreme improvement in reflections - or lack thereof - is what does it for me. And the blue reflections we see so often on RWG just don't look like what you see in an AD on gen watches. Plus, you've still got a slight blue/purple tint to the new one if you find the right light. Take your UPO into an Omega AD and compare it to the real thing side by side.... You'll be very pleased. This is how AR should be.
PS - I like that IWC better than my 3717. What is it?
The only two wearable PAMs I have at the moment are a 196 and a 63. One of these days soon I'll rig up my lighting equipment against and take some pics.
First one is a Saddle Tan Savage. Second one is a Brindle Vintager. Micah is replacing an old strap I bought from him two years ago which had separated for free. He gave me my choice of anything he currently offers, and I went with the Brindle. Talk about customer service!
In my opinion the stock cyclopes on those PR models are just fine. They have an internal lens right at the date window that provides additional magnification. With a proper date disc, I can't see any need for replacement of the cyclops either.
Ubi, it does not. In fact I forgot to wear it today like I was supposed to. I've been habitually slapping the 3717 on my wrist each morning since it arrived...
Well there hasn't been a rep in my lifetime with acceptable lume, except for "modded" pieces that some dealers offer. So that one is pretty much a given, if you care. And, really, the SWISS MADE alignment issue isn't a big deal at all since he's going to mod the thing anyhow... he doesn't have to mod it, he wants to mod it. Me, I say that if a rotated bezel ring is the worst problem you've got, take it and be happy!
Well don't take this as the final word, but according to my calipers an Ubi overlay measures:
23.05mm OD, 14.91mm ID. These are as close as I can get. The overlays are floppy and difficult to measure precisely.
