  1. I have yet to make the plunge into Home Theater, so my system is quite dated.... Krell KRC-2 preamp Mark Levinson No.331 amp Meridian 500 CD Transport Meridian 518 DAC Thiel CS 2 2 speakers Kimber KCAG interconnect Double runs of Kimber 8TC speaker cable
  2. What wire? Do you mean the thread?
  3. Oh, right. My bad... I don't know if they will. I do have a generic Tudor seconds hand with the slightly too short tail section that you can have, if you want, for the time being.
  4. Any reason you can't use the Noobmariner seconds hand?
  5. Indeed. Much better dial than the new rep H dials, too. Much closer to the gen. V. nice. I was holding off when they were still available because I wanted an H. But then was severely disappointed by the rep H dials and it was then too late. Oh well. Live and learn.
  6. Mesmerizing, and I normally despise yellow gold!!! Congrats on the truly unique piece, one that really does belong in your permanent collection.
  7. Ubi first pointed this out to me when I was starting to collect parts, and since being tipped off I've noticed that none of the readily available generic Tudor sub hand sets have a correct seconds hand. I picked up a set of gen Tudor hands. But, I've also noticed that the rep seconds hand isn't very offensive and could probably be mated with a good set of generic Tudor hour and minute hands. My main complaint with most rep hands was the often too-narrow strip of lume especially on the long minute hand. Also, the section of lume below the Mercedes emblem on the hour hand is often too short. So, I feel that if you fix the details on the hour and minute hands, you're pretty much golden. Long story short: I think you can get away with good quality generic Tudor hands as long as you don't use the seconds hand.
  8. I have this watch as well. Not a popular piece, but I love it as a beater and that electric blue dial just can't be photoed properly!! Anyhow, I'd like you to post your findings as you go so I can see how it all works out. I doubt, as kruzer said, that anyone has done this before you.
  9. I do believe teh 2824 and the 2836 are the same size, so either should fit. Someone can correct me if I am wrong. You can get winding stems for the ETA 28XX from OFrei (again I believe the 2824 and 2836 would use the same stem). You just need to know the thread size of the crown you'll be using. The winding stems that are already in your movements may work fine. For hands, try to find Tudor Submariner hands. They'll fit the ETA. If you want a genuine bezel insert, you'll have to hunt around a bit. If you want an aftermarket bezel insert, they're plentiful on EBay. Another worthwhile upgrade for you will be a genuine triplock crown and tube, also available on EBay. The Zigmeister has posted a crown tube installation tutorial on the forum for your reference. Good luck!! I'm almost done collecting parts for the identical project!
  10. Hmm, I believe closed 6 and 9 is correct. This would be a Y or K serial... Something in early 2000. Like this: And this:
  11. Ahhhh.... I guess I'll learn that when I get my first PAM with a date! So, this is somewhat of an issue then, no?
  12. What do you use for a UV light source to cure the glue?
  13. Silly question: Aren't you AR coating the inside of the crystal and not the side the cyclops is attached ?
  14. Would it be ridiculous of me to get the AMG version from Josh even though I already have the standard version? I think I like it enough to do it. PS How were you able to read that magazine with that nonsensical writing? "Hier Volgt een...." What does it say?
  15. Actually, to be technically correct his is the dial and the bracelet from Trusty's A21J sub, which does appear to be in fact the identical sub.
  16. Good stuff, littleme! Nice execution.
  17. Ohhh ssurfer... Interesting on the cyclops project... Can't wait to see those.
  18. I especially like the brushed vs. the usual mirror finish that we usually see on Breitling reps. This model is 42mm though, which is a bit on the smallish side for a Breit...
  19. I bet if you call ofrei they'll have the tubes.
  20. Here is some reading material. http://www.timezone.com/library/tzints/tzi...742020270625000 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Officine_Panerai
  21. There's alot to like about this new Breitling from Joshua. Swiss 7750. Good dial. Good date font. Slide rule font is a little off though. Nice watch overall, IMO. The price is a little scarey at $888. What do you think?
  22. It's not terribly accurate. For your first, how about a nice Davidsen 005? He's introducing new dials shortly...
  23. All my watches come through either SF or LA and so far so good. If you ever need a watch forwarded to you, just let me know.
