  1. Heh. No clue who that is, but in any event it was a joke.
  2. You're making me think I should get it PVDed now..... Hrmmm.
  3. Yea. Save the absurdities for the Parisiennes with armpit hair.
  4. Ask davidsen for a precise measurement of its diameter.
  5. She's a hottie!!! Take good care of her, and enjoy!
  6. OK, thanks. You just helped me spend more money. PS - Watchman cyclops? Is this the non-sapphire one?
  7. Heh. Not vintage. But damn useful! http://www.ofrei.com/page_214.html#3266
  8. Regarding the MBW case.... I do think it should be pointed out that "Mr. MBW" does source watches from more than one factory. Take, for example, Tribal's 16610 "1A" vs. "1B". It is the "1A" that comes from the vintage factory (the holy grail of Rolex reps), while the "1B" is produced elsewhere. And this Noobmariner case is clearly akin to the "1B" line, as opposed to the vintage factory MBWs which are *really* what we assume to be the subject matter when making reference to a MBW. FWIW
  9. And if you hadn't done so already (which you have), that paragraph would have won you a lifetime customer in me. It just couldn't possibly have come closer to hitting the nail on the head, pun intended. As a woodworker (by hobby, not trade), I take pride in owning, restoring, and using vintage machinery and hand tools. My collection is very modest, but pre war tools simply can not be matched today. And I see that things, as expected, are no different in the watchmaking trade. Good, good stuff Rob!!! Love the workshop shots.
  10. That would be awesome!!! Thanks, V!
  11. Yes, I believe that sash5... The Chloe Paddington, the LV Monogram, and probably a select other few are going to be available as super copies... The selection is probably going to be minimal... As far as Tse goes, he provides an "ebay quality" list for those people reselling his bags on ebay. These are the bags that he feels are his best, and indistinguishable from the gen. Interesting. I have the list, but I don't yet understand how to interpret it!
  12. What do you PAM nuts think of the 028? Just looking for opinions in general. I'm thinking of making a franken out of Josh's 2892 Sopras 028... Jimmy CG, Palp crown, Finepics datewheel and cyclops, maybe a Davidsen AR crystal (if the cyclops can stick to it).... Won't be a cheap watch all said and done, but I think it'll be a real looker (love that hobnob dial too), even more so than my old case 7753 196. Thoughts?
  13. Two great straps from Aaron!! Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous... Now, can I get a piece of that leather jacket?!?!
  14. And I suppose it is quite possible that some of the original Korean bag factories have relocated to China now......
  15. Yes, of course there is that factor. But you do also have to admit that "Super Copy" is going to get thrown around by dealers left and right... How is one to find the real deal - IF in fact the real deal is out there.... Jaymoi is the man, and I'm confident in his super investigative skills though.
  16. I received correspondence from a Francis Tse dealer this morning and this person told me "Tse's own factory makes far better bags than Korean factories, korea was great for replicas a few years ago but now their government are hard on replica factories and the industry has basically disappeared and moved to China instead." One really has to wonder if "Super Copy" is just the same sort of thing ala "Perfect Sub". Marketing wizardry? Looking at some of the bags from this Francis Tse agent, I'd have to say the accuracy on many of them is highly questionable. Although, the more popular models seemed pretty good. Oh, and by the way, it seems as though the pricing of the Francis Tse bags are better than the "Super" bags on this six star replica site. And interestingly the Tse site has a password protected section for Fabrics, where apparently, factories or dealers can purchase the fabric from the Tse factory.
  17. Here's a little something to wet your appetite.... Oh, and BTW, how about that genuine "fish tank" rehaut, eh?!?!
  18. It kicks unbelievable amounts of ass. Go with it.
  19. Yes, please do test this on a case that you don't care about first! I'll be interested to see your results. I would be tempted to shorten the drill bit with a hacksaw so that you can get as much as possible up into the chuck and leave almost precisely what is needed to clear the lug sticking out....
  20. I'd be curious to hear about your plan!
  21. Oh the 91 I - that's right. I remember that one. I really liked it. How much did it sell for, if you don't mind. I definitely prefer the Marinas... Submersibles aren't my cup of tea.... yet, anyhow.
  22. The forum members here never cease to amaze me!! What a fantastic community we have here.
  23. Looking good. What method did you use to perform the trimming?
  24. Hmm I looked at the review and it said it's inside of a Rite Aid store. That doesn't sound right.... This might not be the place.
