@ogladio Thanks !
You're right all gilt dials can be made.
It's a long work to draw, test print, adjust, apply the coats of varnish, lume. Wait hours for dry before next stage. I remade this dial five time before this result. And I'm not fully satisfied. A 6538 for a friend maybe seven...
But it's worth.

Hi friends !
Followers of my dials thread know I'm working on several project since few weeks. 6538 for a friend, and two Explorers 5500 and 6610 for me.
I'm very happy to show you my completed mid 60's 5500 Explorer Super Precision.
Gen 1002 case serial 130xxxx with IV64 case back, bezel, and 503 crown.
25-12 plexi.
Octo low beat non hacking ETA 2888 (2846) serviced by myself.
Vintaged Clark's Tudor hands.
True gilt underline glossy dial.
Riyi Rivet bracelet.
Can I call it a franken ? [emoji6]

I don't want to mod a 2824 to low beat. And I don't have funds to buy a good 2824. I will stay with my 2846 for the moment.
I just don't understand how 2879 is correct and 2846 not. They have similar stem heights.

@JoeyB thanks !
Tried to build my 5500 this morning. But my ETA 2846 is not adapted to 1002 gen case.
Ruined the dial with Bergeon protector when I wanted to remove the hands. I have to make a new dial again...
For fans...

As some members know I want to build two explorers, 6610 and 5500.
Bought a jmb v2 and a gen 1002 cases.
I thought I could use ETA 2846 to fit on these cases. I removed DWO and his mechanism to make it thinner. But on the two cases the movement hole for the stem is not horizontally aligned with the tube, and I can't insert it.
Tried to remove the dial spacer too. But the movement stop after few minutes when it's in contact with dial.
What movement can I use for these cases ? Is ETA 2824 the only way ?
Thanks for advices.

I searched on ofrei but there is no 29, 27, or 26mm blank dial without window.
I bought some 10$ sterile dials from ken. Sanded to remove paint.
I will contact him to know if can sell brassed dials.

For exemple my last 6610 lume test. Numbers are terrible. Didn't have difficulties on my my first watches with the lume mix.
Those days my lume is very sticky. Thought I use the same recipe as before. Nemoto powder, acrylic matt varnish, acrylic white paint, pigment. Any advice would be appreciated

after multiple tests I think i achieved to get a correct lume on my 5500 dial.
I tried many times last days without success. It made me mad !
Print decals, wait, put on blanck dials, wait, spray glossy varnish, wait... Each time it's 3 days needed before I could try to lume.

It's a beautiful watch. I understand it's a long way to source all these gen parts. But the result is beautiful. Congrats !
My 6610 parts are waiting in a box. See your 1016 make me want to build it now.
