  1. Ho yes my friend, a lot of back&forth... change strap two times cuz I was not satisfy, problem with a jerky sec hands on chrono after isntalling the swiss mvt, etc ... and a real thanks to The Zigmeister and Chief who work to strip the factory coating on this one, it was very very tough and painful to strip. I never letting go now, it's a real SUPER REP.
  2. The secret of success in MOD world is, patience. Sometime, honeymoon end before finishing a project, like my other IWC Mark XV, that I sold to puttputt cuz the honeymoon didn't come back strong enough when I finished the project. But for this 3717, I'm still in the honeymoon spirit so until the ball rolling, it's defetively a KEEPER. I still waiting for my Navitimer and Slevin from The Zigmeister and chief...I know they will be superb and in top notch mecanical functionality (full servicing, relume, etc. etc.)
  3. After a lot of patience, and a good help from The Zigmeister, this 3717 project take end today, here it is: - Swap the Asian 7750 for a Swiss 7750 - Relume hands - New Chief double AR coating - Full servicing on the mvt due to a jerky sec hand - IWC Deployment Buckle clasp - TWB leather strap
  4. For 42mm or 46mm?
  5. An incredible nice watch!!! Congrat for the MOD...a very good move to froze the sec@6 and the double AR. A must on this watch.
  6. My friend has this watch, but the 42mm version, wilth superluminova, not the vial tube, and he is very satisfy, you can the look the new version of it (the one you are interested) here with a video of it: hxxp://www.countycomm.com/jsar.htm And a forum who talk about military watch here: hxxp://www.broadarrow.net/
  7. Demonstration of pure talent here.
  8. Curious, we are born on the same year/month, and both love speedyPro.
  9. Moon watch. All the way (acrylic crystal, solid case back version, the ORIGINAL) Why? For his historical reason. For his "soul" behind this watch. After that, the rest of the list is an "optional" choice IMHO For me, a second gen could be a PO du to his co-axial mvt, and his 600M water resistance, exceptional, but, the Moon should be a must to purchase FIRST. PO is not a classic yet, wait little bit... I bought a gen speedy, ~5-6 years ago, since this time I sold all my other gen, and a lot of rotation, except this one... it's a keeper for a long long ride, should never be sold, it's like a good bottle of wine that you have in your cave, more time pass, more the needs to keep it grow. I suggest you to read/post on TZ (timezone), that wil help to do the right choice.
  10. There's too much soap in the bath
  11. BTW for the purpose of the thread, I wear a IWC Mark XV, with the new Chief coating AR... sad that I lent my camera to my girfriend, I can't post photo
  12. Remind me good old time... I talk about the music in dance club, of course LOL! can I recommend a strap to this girl, buying a new pair of bra Ok, go back to rep watch now...
  13. WHAT? My girlfriend has less than 10 bags, and I find that little excessive, (but I'm in the bad seat to talk about her handbags, cuz I have same amount of watches ) You really need to switch to handbags forum vict! or if you have more watches than handbags, I thing it's better to stay here, you will find more masculin post than on handbags forum
  14. Having other watchsmith will be a big + for all of us cuz there's a lot of demand about servicing Asian mvt. But the problem I see is, finding a trusty watchsmith, and that is not so easy. The Zigmeister proof his reputation and build it with a lot of time, reviews that showing his competence, patience by trying to reach perfection, and his generosity to help some of us here. I can only see doing business with an other watchsmith, with the same confidence, only if this watchsmith proof his competence, and that can/will take time. But I thing EVERYBODY is welcome to show what he (or even her) can do here, and what a nice opportunity to show to us your competence. It's the law of offer/demand/quality of service. A watchsmith who charge me $100 for a full servicing, one, maybe he don't have a lot of experience, two, he just cut corner, three, it's just an apprentice and want to practice his talent, and his client know it and want to give him/her a chance to practice at a lower cost. But the FIRST quality of a watchsmith, IMHO, it's his/her HONESTY. Just me two cents.
  15. Skeleton watch, "scare" me too.. (I couldn't resist )
  16. Very nice with the brown strap... Always love this piece of steel
  17. Yup! you did good thing to rollback. so I'll go with my classic: "come here my little boy...come here"
  18. What a sad story and frustrated things... the fact that you did everything to be bulletproof from stolen possibility. And even that... what a %^&* post company are these... I use Fedex ONE time to ship a watch, a Sinn, I was scared, I remember I know that my FedEx local outlet in Montr
  19. Trust me Double T, I'm now immunize from all kind of justifications after some trade (ebay, etc.)
  20. I have one member that it come to my mind if I want to trade, and he's pretty popular here and on RWI. It's not a scammer base on my reading/story about him, he just don't has a good sens of communication when it comes to do BUSINESS (buy/sell), and sometime, he screw things. A lot. My comment here are base on MY experience, and some other member too who go trough trading with this member. This member can lost your time. Not deliberate, but just because he don't really know how to do straight business. Anyway... My overall suggestion is, be SHORT and DIRECT when it come to do trading, be very CLEAR with you intention. Always ship with tracking number and/or take insurance. KEEP YOUR INVOICE OF POSTAL COMPANY UNTIL the package was receive. Force seller to provide tracking, etc. Like other member suggest, use PAYPAL, in that way you can do a complaint (recently I use this for an item on ebay, and it's work perfectly, I never receive package, never had tracking, seller was never be able to proof me, and paypal too, that he ship it, I win, this crook receive bad feedback, and that's it). Never accept story about life of your seller/buyer, justification of any kinds. Good liar will always give you some good justification. Business is business when we do trading. So even with a "popular" member, we need to do our homework, read some post in forum, and in trading section, here, but on other forum too. Good luck/be careful
  21. Ah!!! Dream Theater, a art-rock fan that we have here (influence by Rush). I can suggest in same style, PlanetX, Derek Sherinian, Liquid Tension Experiment, Arena, Joe Satriani, etc. Rush was my favorite group when I in my 16 years old, but after discovered classic music, Yes, Genesis, and Italian progressive group, and some art-rock stuff, Rush are now far behind, I listen them just by nostalgia I listen now new-age stuff, George Winston, piano, with this bad/sad weather here.
  22. I think about a porto too after seeing a gen one, if I'll go with one, I'll froze the sec@6 too.. but a a frozen sec@6 don't bother you ? I mean, it look like a dead watch, no ?
  23. No ring, just watch and some of TENO pendants. I keep it simple.
