  1. It is very rare thta I show my watches (too modest maybe ) anyway, for all of you who hesitate to buy one, another teaser: -Gen Swiss ETA 7750 installed by The Zigmeister -Gen day/date wheel -Relume hands by The Zigmeister -Factory AR -Buffalo TWB strap -Butterfly deployement bought on "equation of time" long time ago
  2. That seems there's no really interest in this model, is it because am I too old why I show interest in "gold" version ?
  3. Agree about the perception. I experiment same thing when I pass between my seiko diver 38mm to the seiko MONSTER, etc. etc. but the UPO, even the seller agree, too bulky for me, he suggest me the 42mm (of course, I already have it, but I didn't say it LOL!). Lucky of you who can wear it and fit on your wrist perfectly.
  4. Try mywatchmaker on google. Good reputation on TZ too.
  5. I'm tempt by this version, find it very classy but still sporty: Want some feedback of people who already has/had it, about the durability of the finish, etc. Thank you for your input.
  6. Did you tried butterfly (also called double) deployment? They has the advantage to be right in the center of your wrist when they are closed, and give a great comfort. just little tricky to close and need a learning curve on how to close it (one side at a time). IMHO, they are perfect for small wrist. Better than single deployment. Here my 3717 on butterfly deployment on a TWB short strap:
  7. Hi folks, long time that I didn't post here After reading a lot (without posting ) about UPO, I wanted to see THE famous UPO in person to see if it can fit on my wrist (I already have an orange 42mm PO that I want to switch for a black one or a UPO, maybe). Anyway, so I visit an Omega AD durring my lunch time today. I bring my 3717 just to compare the size, and compare the lug to lug size (this is my FIRST and simple criteria of knowing if a watch is too big or not). The UPO is definitively not for me. This watch look overkill on my wrist. I have a small, but a "flat" wrist (ok ok here the size: 6.5") that can usually accommodate some big watch. I can wear without problem; a Seiko MONSTER diving watch, a 3717 if I push the limit (due to his long lug to lug size), the little too big puck of the Luminox SEALS. But this one (the UPO), no, I need to pass over it, specially with the bracelet. It just look ridiculous. Guys, try before buy, it's my advise, cuz the UPO is NOT for everyone. Sometime enthusiasm of forum member or owner of some watch push us too buy/try, but after the excitation of the honeymoon, we live some deception . So, do you homework, go to try and see by yourself. cheers.
  8. EDITED: Need to withdraw about my 3717 :-(
  9. If you REALLY like it, before something broke (and cost you more) due to the dry mvt, dirt in it, QC that is very bad, send it to a full services (strip down the mvt, clean, oil it correctly, any mechanical engine, big or small, need OIL) and ask immediately to freeze the sec@6 by removing xtra gears. After that, your watch will be reliable for years to come without doubt about it (a watch that stop intermittently is very frustrating, trust me), and yes it will LAST. A watch MUST be trustable/reliable about accuracy, any time, anywhere, in any condition. Matthieu
  10. Can you give to all of us a little taste of what is the "new" SD will be, or a reference of an existence thread of this? or just a photo? I'm jut too lazy too use search this morning
  11. Simple rule for me, the idea of any group buy is, first, saving money (about 15-20%) and/or receiving an additional service, what I means is for example, a watch that'll come already with an industrial double side AR coating, instead of doing it ourself by removing crystal (buying a crystal pusher/remover, case back remover), paying shipping to treat, wait, pay again to get it back, re-install it, etc. if one of those option is there, I would be in, depend of the model we talk about.
  12. By-Tor, your pics of rolies grow on me...last time I had a watch like a rolex was an INVICTA 9937 (polish center links on bracelet), very well made, I sold it, find it too bling bling for me, but now, your GMT pepsi version grow on me... I'm not sure if I'll be able to resist, I HATE YOU
  13. I think this one is more appropriate for women.
  14. Welcome. You start with a very very good rep. Congrat. There's so much more to collect too...be careful, it's a hobby that grow slowly, and can be adictive, but, resistance is futile
  15. Hope dealer will not use this argument to justify increasing price of rep
  16. Well, that is a good question. About a bag of full rep, I think everybody will agree that is runnning to problems. But just wearing a fake watch, the worst case I can see it's just confiscate it. And another rule is, if they begin to do that for watch, they'll need to do it with for fake GUCCI women shoes, fake LV wallet, etc. really, I think the first rule is security, not just wearing a fake watch on your wrist. Just my two cents.
  17. That is a very good news due to the fact that I read somewhere that the rubber strap is little stiff.
  18. You made some R&D and for a watch-smith this is totally understandable that you keep your trick/procedure The Zigmeister. The important for me is that it's a good news that knowing somebody who know how to repair strip crown/tube on these UPO that failed so easily, or maybe, MOD them to prevent an eventual problem.
  19. I experiment this kind of "rendez-vous" too, by taking a coffee and discuss with a member who was on a forum like this one, but in an another kind of hobby (please, don't go in a fancy interpretation here ) Very cool/interesting to met someone with the only conversation you have is exchanging your opinions/comments on forum. Writing/post is sooooooo far than a TRUE one to one communication. There's sooooo much thing that we miss in email/forum... be careful about INTERPRETATION, sometime, by reading a sentence, there's more than one way to interpret it, and this is bad, bad, bad. This is why smiley's come to help us
  20. HEY! that's cool... a little smilie's for the occasion
  21. I can comment about rep Mark XV, I have/had both MARK XV version that is available. - One has a problem with case/mvt fitting design, (mine broke, and will go in bin). The problem is the stem has a critical angle to reach the mvt and put stress on the stem and eventually will broke. My watchsmith told me even if he replace the stem, the stem will broke again. This version is the one with a see trough case back, "IWC" engraved on the side, and a white square around date (gen don't have this). -The other one is little thicker than the gen model. This one has a solid case back (like the gen). Don't has the "IWC" engraved on the side. And there's no white square around the date. I suggest you to purchase the second one. There's a very good IWC rep, it's the pilot chrono 3717. You can't go wrong with this one, just read some thread here. A lot will MOD it by relume hands, put gen wheel date, swap the low beat (21k) Asian 7720 mvt for a swiss ETA 7750, or send the Asian high beat (28k) version for a full services by The Zigmeister to have a watch that will be trustable for years and years to come. I will let others to comment on other IWC. Good hunting.
