Good move... sometime, it's better to get the GEN, specially if you are so much hook to this model.

Mine run perfectly since the "initial startup". It do a great performance too. Absolutly no complain now. The only thing it bother me it's the crystal, should I go to see a watchsmith for removing it, and re-insert it? I'm worry that he will screw things. Leave it like it is or not? The only thing I want it's wash the watch or my hand under tap water, but even that I'm scare...agrrr.... suggestion? Do the water test, and if it leaks, send it back? or go to see a watchsmith, and pay him to remove the crystal and re-install it? Crystal alignement, it is really the problem of leakage? even with 0.25mm of difference?

Because it is sooooooooo beautiful, and near to the perfection compare to the GEN...except for his mvt. That remind me the IWC Porto sec@6 saga.

well, swiss super rep contain Swiss mvt, and more and more, we have the fact that it can be crap mvt, soooo... it's logical that we can discuss about mvt too when we talk about super rep A super rep + a super crap mvt -> standard rep. Like the GMTIIc, it is/was a good candidate to be a SUPER rep, but now, with all the problems that come on the table about the mod 2836-2 mvt (SWISS or whatever), it's not unanime that it is a SUPER rep.

IMHO Our best bet is just buying a rep with an Asian Clone 28xx mvt that cost to us $90-$100 less than there "Swiss" mvt that anyway, can be anything in it. Asian Clone 28xx are pretty damn good anyway.

It's pretty clear on Pure Time site for exemple when you buy. You can choose between a Asian Clone 2824-2 or a Swiss ETA 2824-2. If you choose a Swiss ETA, now you can receive a NEW mvt, or a NOS mvt, or a OLD mvt (rusted), Swiss mvt can be as well a bunch of mix of GEN part and Rep part too. That was my comprehension of things. Are you with me on that John?

Yes it click, but it's a "smooth" click sound, not a "clear" click sound.

I did this just after seeing the watch running correctly after a few rotor swirl (I'll update my post with this details), so FULL charge, and I leave it DU (Dial up) for the night (so I don't wear it)... this am the watch stopped at 11:25am, and start running after a few shake. Today I wear it all day long, we will see if tomorrow it will stop again.

Mine too, but by looking on youtube, the gen is the same, it sound more like "smooth" click than a "clear" click.

Dealer: Pure time Type: Asian IHS (Incorrect Hand Stack) Receive in my hand 2 July, bought on 19 June. 1- When I receive it, the watch was stop on 11:25am (GMT hand at 11-12), I shaked it (rotor winding) nothing, I pull the cronw on first click and push it back right away, it start running. 2- The crystal is "little" higher at 12 than at 6 by about 0.5mm (instead of most people the crystal is more raise at 3 and recessed at 9) 3- (EDITED more details) After full charge (manual wind, at least 50 slow turn) I left it in a box, DU (dial up) position durring the night. The watch stop this morning 11:25am (GMT hand at 11-12), little shake, it start again. 4- The bezel don't make a clear "click" sound, but more a soft click, is it like that on gen? (after reading, yes it's normal) 5- No water testing yet

I hear you, that sucks man... "the watch is guaranted up to 100M or 10 ATM" Yeah! sure, even at 10cm of water it leaks like a zodiac with a bunch of hole like a strainer. Now we really can say there's NO QC at all on these rep watch. Best bet will be send it to a local watchsmith for a water resisance test to at least 100M..another $50-$75

Base on some observation by The Zigmeister, yes, they are Swiss ETA, some are NOS, some are old and rusted, but they are.
