I seriously doubt that this is the main issue, although I am sure it is at the very least a minor annoyance. It looks to me like theeris a lot of 'squeeze' going on right now and it is principally effecting the smaller non asian based dealers. Look at some of the other threads. Clearly events have changed the risk equation for these guys...

There is some truth to this. We hae PP squeezing out some of the smaller dealers... 3 are under some type of PP investigation, 2 others have left, and our two largest dealers seem to be moving toward some kind of partnership or at leas loose affiliation. Fewer suppliers leads to less consumer leverage... not a good trend.

The only benefit to dealer's opening US based accounts would be in terms of FX conversion rates to the buyers, although the dealers might get hosed whe THEY convert to their local currency. Looks to me like the squeeze is on. 2 of a smaller dealers have now exited the business. PP issues are plaguing at least 3 others, and our 2 largest dealers seem to be moving toward some kind of partnership. Less supply side competition cannot be good for consumer leverage. On a more positive note, I agree with TTK, the PP issues are more perception than reality except for bank fees which we are just going to have to suck up. But overall the trend is not good.

I had no problem with the humor.. my response to johtheboy was (an apparently poor) attempt at humor as well... as if to reinforce the notion of the US centric american by suggesting the map looked fine to me. Sorry if it did not come accross that well. I have already pm'ed an apology to him The comment from By-tor was not humorous.. in fact he said words to that effect when he implied that he would find it funny if it were not true... i do not think it was intended to be offensive, but those statements were not said in jest, and using lables like "Bubba" in a non-joking fashion are no more appropriate than making similar comments about folks who live in eurpean, or asian countries. I will get off my soapbox now. This will be my last response to this post regardless of what else is said.

I am sure you do not mean it this way, but to at least me, that is like saying "... not you guys though, you're one of the good ones" Look, generalizations suck doesn't matter who you are referring too..
