I seriously doubt that this is the main issue, although I am sure it is at the very least a minor annoyance. It looks to me like theeris a lot of 'squeeze' going on right now and it is principally effecting the smaller non asian based dealers. Look at some of the other threads. Clearly events have changed the risk equation for these guys...
There is some truth to this. We hae PP squeezing out some of the smaller dealers... 3 are under some type of PP investigation, 2 others have left, and our two largest dealers seem to be moving toward some kind of partnership or at leas loose affiliation. Fewer suppliers leads to less consumer leverage... not a good trend.
We'll save the Mudville (Casey at the bat) for Opening Day
Baseball's Sad Lexicon" These are the saddest of possible words:
"Tinker to Evers to Chance."
Trio of bear cubs, and fleeter than birds,
Tinker and Evers and Chance.
Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble,*
Making a Giant hit into a double--
Words that are heavy with nothing but trouble:
"Tinker to Evers to Chance."
$20.00 Bank fee applies to domestic as well as international wire transfers, at least at Chase it does. The only benefit to dealer's opening US based accounts would be in terms of FX conversion rates to the buyers, although the dealers might get hosed whe THEY convert to their local currency.
Looks to me like the squeeze is on. 2 of a smaller dealers have now exited the business. PP issues are plaguing at least 3 others, and our 2 largest dealers seem to be moving toward some kind of partnership. Less supply side competition cannot be good for consumer leverage.
On a more positive note, I agree with TTK, the PP issues are more perception than reality except for bank fees which we are just going to have to suck up. But overall the trend is not good.
the joke WAS funny. anything said in good humor should be taken that way. my response was not directed toward the joke but toward the commentary that followed. And yes, I probably over reacted... a bit
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! (I hope I am right, that is what it says on main forum page)
OK I AM DONE!!!!!
nice.
here's one i know you'll like!!
She said I'll see you in the morning, darling
I see you when the kids have gone to school
But well I know tomorrow is your birthday
I know you know that you're are an April Fool
We used to roam so freely. It's been so long
I took my dreams to bed now where they belong
She said there's dust and cobwebs on your north star
There no more fussing the campfires in your hair
I'll see the wheels there rusted in the backyard
I know we're not going anywhere
We used to roam so freely. It's been so long
I took my dreams to bed now where they belong
All the sailors with their seasick mamas
Hear the sirens on the shore,
Singin’ songs for pimps with tailors
Who charge ten dollars at the door.
You can really learn a lot that way
It will change you in the middle of the day.
Though your confidence may be shattered,
It doesn’t matter.
All the great explorers
Are now in granite laid,
Under white sheets for the great unveiling
At the big parade.
You can really learn a lot that way
It will change you in the middle of the day.
Though your confidence may be shattered,
It doesn’t matter.
All the bushleague batters
Are left to die on the diamond.
In the stands the home crowd scatters
For the turnstiles,
For the turnstiles,
For the turnstiles.
I had no problem with the humor.. my response to johtheboy was (an apparently poor) attempt at humor as well... as if to reinforce the notion of the US centric american by suggesting the map looked fine to me. Sorry if it did not come accross that well. I have already pm'ed an apology to him
The comment from By-tor was not humorous.. in fact he said words to that effect when he implied that he would find it funny if it were not true... i do not think it was intended to be offensive, but those statements were not said in jest, and using lables like "Bubba" in a non-joking fashion are no more appropriate than making similar comments about folks who live in eurpean, or asian countries.
I will get off my soapbox now. This will be my last response to this post regardless of what else is said.
I am sure you do not mean it this way, but to at least me, that is like saying "... not you guys though, you're one of the good ones"
Look, generalizations suck doesn't matter who you are referring too.. A joke is fine, you need to be a sport about things, but honestly, i found the "Lukes and Bubbas' comment to be a bit unfortunate.
mine too. I log in on 2 different computers (not concurrently) and since the site upgrade I have had the same issue. It is not a big deal or anything but it happens
