  1. (sigh) I had a feeling that was going to get me in trouble... still, she swears by them... I will be sure to let her know.
  2. Sure $500 ifor a replica bag is a lot.. it is also a lot for a replica watch. Yet many on this site have several falling into that price range. It is all about perspective. Who is to say, a watch at that price is a better value than a simarlary priced bag? You can go to Chinatown in NY and by a replica sub for $25.00. It will likely look like crap, and fall apart within a year. You can buy a replica Louis Vutton for the same price and guess what? It will look like crap and fall apart. A friend of mine used to shop at a site called "sophia's replicas" and pay similar prices, but swore by the products The really high-end replica bags are almost indistinguishable from the genuines and go for a fraction of the price. In this case, $500 is the nominal amount of the fraction. It is still a bargain compared to the gen.
  3. Isn't that hysterical?? Have you ever seen how quickly they can close down shop when a raid is imminent? Their network is awesome!!
  4. ... empty nest synmdrom. you have to let the grow up...
  5. will defintely give that a shot. thanks
  6. Here are a couple of more... I just cannot resist. "What's his accomplishment?....That he's no longer an obnoxious drunk?" Ron Reagan, Jr. on George W Bush "It's political Daddyism and it's as old as demagogues and despotism." Az Barry M. Goldwater also on George W Bush "Capital punishment is our way of demonstrating the sanctity of life." -Orrin Hatch "I don't know that atheists should be considered citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God."-- George W Bush "If I were two faced, would I be wearing this one?" Abraham Lincoln "Feminism encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians."--Pat Robertson at the 1992 Republican National Convention "I think gay marriage is something that should be between a man and a woman" -- Arnold Schwarzenegger "Considering the dire circumstances that we have in New Orleans, virtually a city that has been destroyed, things are going relatively well." FEMA Director Michael Brown, Sept. 1, 2005 "Now tell me the truth boys, is this kind of fun?" House Majority Leader Tom Delay (R-TX), to three young hurricane evacuees from New Orleans at the Astrodome in Houston, Sept. 9, 2005 "When I see a first-class individual who makes $80,000 a year, he's lower middle class. When I see someone who is making anywhere from $300,000 to $750,000 a year, that's middle class. When I see anyone above that, that's upper middle class." --Rep. Fred Heineman (R-NC), explaining that his yearly income of $180,000 leaves him short of middle-class status "Racial discrimination does not always violate public policy." - Trent Lott "But I do know that it's true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could, if that were your sole purpose, you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down," Bill Bennett, Education Secretary under Bush I Source:9-29-05 "Morning in America" Radio show
  7. dude, you're killin' me.
  8. With all due deference to our friend from the north, Senator Ted Stevens, chairman of the senate commerce committee which just so happens to be responsible for legislating laws pertaining to the internet, had this to say about how the internet works: "I just the other day got, an internet was sent by my staff at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday and I just got it yesterday. Why? Because it got tangled up with all these things going on the internet commercially... They want to deliver vast amounts of information over the internet. And again, the internet is not something you just dump something on. It's not a truck. It's a series of tubes. And if you don't understand those tubes can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and its going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material." To get the full effect, you need to listen to the audio, it is unbelievable. It used to be on Youtube, but apparently it was removed. Man, you cannot make this stuff up.
  9. LOL... somehow, I knew that would appeal to you. hadn't considered the DAUNWUAN non de plume twist...
  10. Thanks for the great post!! I have the same watch from EL and was under the same impression, i.e. hands to long and dial too wide. Eventually I will likely have the same mods done along with superlume. Should make a big difference.
  11. I was going to post this in the 'posts from people we know thread' but did not want to hijack it. Here is a small sampling from this year "The point now is how do we work together to achieve important goals. And one such goal is a democracy in Germany." --George W. Bush, D.C., May 5, 2006 "That's George Washington, the first president, of course. The interesting thing about him is that I read three -- three or four books about him last year. Isn't that interesting?" --George W. Bush, while showing German newspaper reporter Kai Diekmann the Oval Office, Washington, D.C., May 5, 2006 "I've reminded the prime minister-the American people, Mr. Prime Minister, over the past months that it was not always a given that the United States and America would have a close relationship." George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., June 29, 2006 "I like to tell people when the final history is written on Iraq, it will look like just a comma because there is -- my point is, there's a strong will for democracy." --George W. Bush, interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, Sept. 24, 2006 "If the Iranians were to have a nuclear weapon they could proliferate." --George W. Bush, Washington D.C., March 21, 2006 There are a ton of them here... http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/blbushisms.htm they are hysterical.
  12. wow.. to each their own i guess... not my cup of tea though
  13. that is a great looking watch, and the photos are up to your usual high standards. nice.
  14. you took the words right out of my mouth. looking at that made me sick to my stomach
  15. you're right, and it is probably as much my fault as anyone's. he can come for a beer too.
  16. I am sorry to hear that. I am not sure what kind of critical mass would make this work, but perhaps if we did a run-off focusing on a choice between the 2 or 3 most popular selections in this poll, we would get there. Just a thought.
  17. LOL. Ok, maybe we can talk about it some day over a beer.
  18. ok, goodnight gracie. Sorry, i could not help it.
  19. Yoyu know, I try to be as objective and fair as I can be, but I have to tell you the body of your posts, both here and on other threads is downright obnoxious. You consistently represent the view that your reasons for owning a rep are the only ones with validity.. i.e. to guard against the wear and tear of the genuine in your drawer. Your posts have also in the past demonstrated a certain arrogance with respect to you r income and wealth. Big deal. Believe it or not, you are not the only person on this site with the wherewithal to afford genuine premium watches... others are just not as concerned about adverstising their good fortune. Look, for most of us collecting replica watches is fun and makes watch collecting a variety of styles and brands possible. Very few people (even those who can) desire to buy 20-30 high grade premium watch bands, regardless of their wearwithall, but they love the design of the watches as well as ollecting and trading. They also enjoy the community of this board. Can they buy tissot's. Sure, and maybe they do along with their reps. . but why should anyone restict themselves in order to meet your standards?
  20. Thanks for the through response. I am aware of the asian 7750's but did not know tht dealers were referiing to chinese copies as ETA's. When I read ETA i just assume it is made in their Chinese factories and not shipped back for finishing and QC. Thanks for clarifing (if that is possible.)
  21. I think the use of the term 'fake' was the primary reason people thought your posts on the alternate thread was 'negative' (i did not share that feeling btw). the word itself is kind of stark and can carry a certain negative connotation when read a certain way. To me these are not 'fake watches' they are real watches. they look great, and the ones in my collection are at least as accurate as the gens i own. I think referring to them as fakes is a bit of a mischaracterization, but to each his own.
  22. Ok, so now I am a bit confused. At least two posters here have referred to Chinese ETA's as copies. I was under the impression that these are not copies at all but rather movement manufactured in ETA's Chinese factory and not finished by the swiss. Does anyone knows which statement is correct? I do not really know how important this is to me, but if anyone knows for sure, yoru response is appreciated.
  23. Agreed. Barry Goldwater is spinning in his grave. I have always been kind of curious as to what issues the conservatives feel closely aligned to Bush are, i.e. what his appeal to you is based on. Can you expand?
  24. i have not done ANYTHING to my reps, no frease, no 0 rings. I shower and swim with them. Never had a problem
