  1. ok, but by context i mean... do we know which forum she was suspended from? do we know first hand that her posts violated the forum rules? or that the warnings were appropriate within the construct of those rules? theoretically i am told moderators on other boards have make mistakes from time to time, although as I only participate on this one, i find that to be a foreign and odd concept...
  2. maybe... but your initial point or question (the one i responded to) was related to your observation of current events around the expression of personal blessings vis-a-vis the banning of public displays of what could be considered religous expression, eg. nativity scenes in town squares, ten commandments in public courthouses etc... This is a real hot isue in the US at the moment. Your second point around the rules or a private forum may be well-taken, but I agree wit Kenberg, we really do not know the context of the ban other than from second hand hearsay.
  3. eading through this thread the primary issue is being missed, at least in my view. there is big difference between conveyence of personal expression, and government sponsored communication that potenially expresses a preference of religous conviction. In the US, there is a strong seperation of church/state culture/tradition, codified in the declaration of indepennce and at least on foreign treaty (alluded to previously). Individuals have a right to worship in the manner they choose, or to not worship at all. To assure those rights, all levels or government are oboliged to take care, actually resist, engaging in religous expression. Hence the issue around nativity scenes on public land, and ten commandments in government court houses. As gio, indicated d previously, individual expression falls into a different category all together. I do not find it offensive, but others e may find it at least presumptuous in that it assumes the person you are speaking with believes in blessings are prayer, or christmas, or whatever. That is my view anyway.
  4. you are quite the Renisance man, dude. very impressive.
  5. this is nice work. what did you use to file them down?
  6. I can recommend narikaa from first hand experience, but i can tell you that if you choose a dealer from this site you really cannot go wrong.
  7. sometimes. for instance by smp gmt goes great with a blue pinstripe suit. of course my 5513 goes great with everything!
  8. I have a PAM 029 with a 2893 from EL that is pretty damn close. The cyclops is of course off and the crown is a bit thin. Others talk about the font on the datewheels but I really do not see this as a hugely noticeable. Others have said the dial is wide, and the hands long but I recently learned from another member that some "L-Swiss" Gens were made that way, and that this is a perfect replication of that. It seems to match the models I saw on a website. This is my favorite of a relatively small number of reps in my possession, a really hot watch.
  9. I gotta tell ya, I was not ready for this at all left my apt without a coat this morning and did a real quick u-ie.... better yet, i get to go to chi-town tommorow for the week.. that'll be warm....
  10. That's not even fair

Beautiful watch. I have to admit, I have not seen that one before.
  12. wow. it is pretty bad when you are not classy enough for kevin federline
  13. I used to date a girl who worked for playGIRL magazine... it is a good think i am secure in my manliness
  14. I agree..some of the member comments have been downright 'blunt' to be polite... the only thing I can think of is go to your security settings and set them to the lowest levels... go to tools, internet options.. and trusted sites.. and set that one low. otherwise, i am sorry but i am pretty useless.
  15. well i've tossed my cookies... seriously yes i have, but i think my issue may be more directly related to a corporate firewall.
  16. Ok, so now i am really going to reveal my ignorance.... the watch looked great to me, in all aspects I was sure is was genuine, but it did not look like it had a 'split end link'... the one on TZ forum did however.. am i looking at the wrong thing when i look for the SEL? I am looking at the middle link closest to the case, and it extends from the bezel past the case. Thanks
  17. I don't know how much help i can be.. i sometimes have the same problem at work... slowness going thru the firewall while the site goes thru a security scan. but at home? have you checked the borwser security settings? btw, i have been meeting to tell you how appricated all the work you're doing really is. I understand your motivation, but I think it is way beyond the call..
  18. are you at home or at work? btw, considering all the great work you've done with coordiating the watch survey, you must have the patience of a saint. I would have destroyed my pc by now.
  19. I thought you said you were shaving your HEAD!! Ok, i don't know you well enough to say that, but I am in for $20.
  20. William Barthman located downtown on broadway, had a decent collection of subs and GMT's a few weeks back. They were actually talking to me about a modest discount.
  21. What a sad story... it made me cry actually. It is also kind of inspirational. The world can be so jaded.. .just when you become really cynical about human nature you read about a guy like that.
  22. Ok, so I am not very good at this... I thought the end link was supposed to be split but the reast of the watch looks great to me... what do I know.,,? http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-D-GREEN-Bezel-SS-S...1QQcmdZViewItem
