  1. Has everyone already forgotten about the Maserati that was built on the frame of a Chrysler LeBaron? That was a very bad idea and my guess is this will be as well.
  2. Hey Sul, I came to the same conclusion. I bought a new set of SL hands from a member on another board. Thanks! Aaron
  3. Hello All, I have a pretty nice 112 franken with gen dial and cartel hands that have been relumed. Someone either installed the hands not at midnight or they started to slip. I pulled the hands off and reset them, but when I pressed them on with my hand tool it looks like some of the paint on the post of the minute hand has now come off. Is there any way for me to fix this or do I need to buy a new set of hands? I'd hate to have to buy new hands as the ones I have are SL and match the dial well, but I do want to keep the watch looking good and chipped paint doesn't look very good.
  4. Great ideas guys. I think that I found a gen hand on another rolex board. Thanks! Aaron
  5. Hello All, I'm looking for a 1680 seconds hand that fits a 1570 gen movement. It would have to be Luminova. I'm working on a project and bought what I thought was a hands set for this movement, but my watchmaker says the seconds hand is for a different movement and it will not work with the 1570's post. Anyone know where I maybe able to find just the seconds hand or do you think I will have to buy an entire set of hands? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks! Aaron
  6. People have been asking this question a long time, even since I started looking at reps in 2004. In Columbus, I rarely see another gen, but I have seen some horrible reps. Guy came up to me at the bar and said nice PAM and asked me if it was real. I was wearing a gen 111 so I said yeah, he flashed his wrist to show me a white PAM GMT with a quartz movement and no GMT hand and a crown that was the thinnest I've ever seen. Needless to say I didn't need to ask him if his was real.
  7. I think that he should refund your money. As others said a Paypal dispute may not get your money back. Either the watch was broken when he sold it to you or he's a moron. Either way you should not have to pay. I'd post this in the member review area and hope a moderator takes notice and bans the sell.
  8. I no expert, but I had a 3rd gen EL and they all had the E0117 case number. Mine also had no AR on the crystal. Watch was great and I regret selling it.
  9. I agree I would offer the movement to the first buyer at the price I paid for it. At that point it is up to them to decide. The seller screwed the first buyer and put the second buyer in a really bad situation.
  10. Agreed there is not really a great Monaco Chrono. You can find a few that are pretty nice though. Most are quartz. If you want the non-chrono there maybe some good ones, but I dunno who sells them.
  11. TimeZone or Ebay for a used model. Be patient and buy from a good seller. If you do it right you can wear the watch for a year or two and sell it for what you bought it for or even a profit.
  12. I'm fairly certain that you should not be able to wind the watch backwards, unless you bought the Asian Auto version. The manual wind should just go one way.
  13. Great mods and excellent photos. Makes me want to buy another PAM!
  14. I was thinking the same thing. Both dial and gen crystal. Maybe you can get a package deal.
  15. I agree. I like the design of the older bracelet much better.
  16. I'll wear a quartz on the course, but not a mechanical. I am a hack though
  17. As close to gen as you can get! f-ing awesome!
  18. I see the same posts on here and every other rep forum over and over again. Someone comes one here asking why there cannot be a 100% perfect rep and/or parts. They then state their reasoning why it should not be that hard, that expensive, and take that long. Then there is a long line of posts that explain what would need to be done. Frankly, in the end it comes down to the point that most people, don't have the time or money to undertake such a process. I applaud anyone who is willing to take on such a project. Jimmy Fu did run his 1:1 project successfully and now his parts are sought after so it can be done. If your serious you should probably contact T about his crowns to get an idea of what it would take.
  19. So your idea is that someone buy a gen cg, do all the work in autocad, find a company who will produce the pieces, which at minimum is probably several hundred if not thousands, front the money, and then sell them at actual cost to produce?
  20. I had an Olivia Series G the other day. It was great. I usually smoke Romeos or Montecristo, nothing too cheap or too expensive.
