  1. Nice website. I'm gonna bookmark it. I live the C-Bus now, but was born in Akron.
  2. Cool stuff. Are you going to base your design on the Palp design or on a gen crown?
  3. I thought the sapphire crystals had more of a problem with exploding. I had my sapphire EL 127 for almost 3 years without a problem.
  4. Good looking PAM! If you do the relume, replace the cannon pin with a taller one while you are at it.
  5. I guess I didn't think about that. I'll change my reply. If you want a correct series caseback for yourself, because the incorrect case bothers you then go for it. Hopefully the pictures of my gen caseback help you in your seach.
  6. It maybe harder than you think. A Gen F series 111 has different PANERAI Font than most rep casebacks. If you do a search on my posts I took a picture of my case about a year ago as a reference. It was December 19th, 2008. On another note, if you have the larger brushed crownguard then your caseback should be for a G series. Either way I would not worry about the correctness of your caseback if you have anything but a gen movement. If you were to give your watch to a risti, there will most likely be other things that they would notice before the serial number.
  7. I live right on Grandview Ave. Probably have to do a Get Together sometime this winter.
  8. What's up my brother? I live down in Grandview! I'm sure you're gonna love this site!
  9. A,B & F Gen. The rest all reps?
  10. Probably not. Most if not all the reps are made in China. You can post a Wanted To Buy Ad and maybe someone in the US will sell to you. What part do you need?
  11. Awesome work. Reminds me of a Hamilton movement that you worked your magic on to get into a 127 a couple of years ago.
  12. Nice mod and great avatar pic. I had a Brindle Male Bullie looked just like your pic.
  13. I bought mine on ebay. It is older, because it has no engraving on the back of the case. The old cases are stainless steel. The new cases are plated brass. They are a pretty cool watch and it gets a lot of comments/compliments. Invicta also makes a very similar design that is probably much more practical for wear on a daily basis.
  14. Nice Collection. Nicer even to be his watchmaker who services all those. Probably a full time job. Thanks! Aaron
  15. I agree, but his watch is not a "Tourist" model as sold on ebay now. His is a genuine article from the 60's or 70's. I saw a post on a Russian website a couple of years ago, where he had a strap custom made, he does however have a Invicta similar in design, but the invicta is smaller. The Zlatoust Diver is 60mm or so which this one has to be looking at the pic.
  16. Fairly sure it still has nickel in it.
  17. The case was probably really beat up at some point and the owner decided to have the outside brushed to hide all the scratches and dings. Over 50-60 years who knows what could have happened to that watch. Either way it's a great looking watch.
  18. How close does the crown sit to the case? My guess is the stem is too long. I would think that any replacement crownguard will be the same specs as the one you have on the watch now.
  19. I'd wait until your collection grows. Seems like there are really no long lasting cheap ones. You maybe able to find something in your range in Orbita which are nice. People debate whether watches wear faster on winders as well. Right now I just make sure I wear all my watches at least once a month.
  20. I like that T/A. Fast, reliable, and cheapish. Do you have a garage/tool/ability to wrench? If yes to all those you have a whole bunch of options.
  21. If I was him I'd be pretty scared. He has many watches/enemies and doesn't know what a single one of you looks like.
  22. Looks great. Don't ever let the service center replace that dial
  23. Great watch. I actual prefer the E-G movements much better than the current movement finish.
