  1. I think RobbieG said it perfectly.
  2. Really sorry to hear that man...I'd have to echo that it def. sounds like the thief knew exactly what he/she was looking for...neighbourhood kids maybe? If you've got homeowner's insurance (idk about Germany) in the US that sort of thing would be covered with a corresponding police report and you could probably submit a claim. Can't hurt to call Sony GmbH either... As others have said, thank God you and your family were not hurt at all....it sucks a lot (I've left my wallet at a bar shitfaced before...'Nuff said) but it's a replaceable, insurable item...life isn't...
  3. Good lord...no stealth with that one!
  4. 3135 is just a newer and improved 3035... both are 28,800 VPH movements however the dimensions of each movement may be different...not sure on that though.
  5. Not sure if watchmakers such as The Zigmeister or Freddy had seen this yet but I found it fascinating... I've been following Voutilainen's work for quite some time and did a little research on his new Carbontime balance... the .pdf is pretty technical but I was able to understand all of it so I figure you will all be fine with it It's a little old but I feel as though it might have gone under the radar... http://carbontime.com/files/april2006.pdf Enjoy...
  6. I couldn't agree more... the noob guide is probably one of the most important things written in the last year or so.... Thanks so much and I look forward to even more great posts and reviews!!
  7. With the money he's making from rep sales (esp. considering their margin) it's very possible it IS a gen

  9. Well gentlemen, as I solved the mystery of Pugwash's avatar he managed to find the name of the mystery jogger... she is the "Jogger" in the movie Click starring Adam Sandler. Make sure to put some plastic over your keyboards, put whatever automatic watches you need wound on your favorite arm and most importantly: make sure the wife and kids are asleep! Congrats to Puggy!!! She's coming to the world G2G!!!
  10. Right that's why I was wondering about a movement shot...no biggie though...

I need to find who she is and bring her to the world G2G... I'll promise her a Rolex if she dances nude in a cage whilst we enjoy the hors d'oeuvres, single malt of some sort and we'll commission Lani to age the cigars, if he is willing... God that'd be amazing... Oscar can run the RWG1 dungeon in the basement with goats, etc (see, I lurk...)

  24. Mmm never heard of shaving cream... I clean using a mild soap solution and place the entire disassembled Rolex bracelet in a bath of mineral oil for a week (a bit of overkill, but hey). Then I put on kitchen gloves and reassemble the screwed links / bracelet IN the bucket of mineral oil. Then I work the links back and forth in the oil for a few minutes once assembled. I then take the bracelet out and pat dry all the surface oil and wash the bracelet in warm water while gently working the links to get the surface oil out... what remains is a bracelet that (esp. since I've sanded down the sharp links and used this oil method) feels identical (if not better) to my gen 16610 bracelet.
