  1. I disagree. If Luthier feels that way, he feels that way. He said he has issues with Obama's policies and ideals- that's fine, that's what America is about...the ability to have your own opinion and vote that way. In this case, the majority of Americans did not agree with him, which is also OK- that's the way democracy works.
  2. Very interested to see the true comparison between the rep and gen crystals.
  3. Wow...that's pretty bad...
  4. I know the feeling...got my vintage Constellation back a few weeks back and it's keeping time between -1 and +2 on the wrist- it's not coming off for a while
  5. I agree with pugs but if you're worried about it a service will give you peace of mind for the next 5 years or so...
  6. This is the shortest thread ever.
  7. Very nice...I assume you had a service done to it?
  8. Haha love it Dani!
  9. Depends... I rotate watches but if I was to wear a watch for an entire week... I'd wind it about 10 turns from a dead stop, put it on my wrist and wear it the entire week... the motion of my wrist is generally enough to keep a watch fully wound...it's always better (in an automatic) to allow the rotor/automatic winding system to do the work rather than cranking the crown 40+ turns a day.....
  10. Not sure what it needs but that doesn't sound right...have you tried fully winding it (40 turns gently) and setting it down face up to see how long it runs? If it's from a dealer...I say email him/her and see about getting a replacement...
  11. Feel free to PM me if you have some specific questions I'm more than happy to help if I can...
  12. Hey numptyj, Welcome to the forum! There's a ton of great info here...some of our trusted collectors accept paypal, some accept Visa and Mastercard. As for the Omega, it's a great watch..I own a gen "Bond style" SMP (not the special edition you're after). If you use the "Search" feature at the top right there's a ton of info, reviews, and common mistakes- listen to what the experts say and you'll make the right decision... Best of luck! PS- isn't it "Guise"
  13. Happy Birthday Old Man!!
  14. Fitting topic considering your screen name Hope all goes well...looks beautiful irregardless and $400 for a good Tudor rep isn't terrible...if in fact it's a rep (I think it looks good but I wouldn't know my ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to Tudors).
  15. I see posts like this all the time... And they never get old! CBR and countless others have done the same for me and it's members like LR, etc that really make this place shine!! Bravo Lord Rasta!
  16. Hmm...in a perfect world you'd get a replacement bracelet but...this is not always the case... Worst case scenario: Either try to pick up a second hand one here, try to have a local repair guy (NOT an AD) repair it for a nominal fee OR (my route) pick up a nice brown leather strap with white stitching and a silver buckle Brings out the watch quite well!
  17. Nice pics condemore...I wish I could pull of the nearly 50 mms
  18. Happy Birthday man!
  19. @ Lani- Yes thanks! I noticed the SOSF lume lasts a long time...more so than some other reps
  20. I think Bazz took the words right out of my mouth...congratulations!! She's a real beauty!
  21. Lani you're torturing me!!
  22. Varies from rep to rep, maker to maker, etc... I've had good luck with the Breitling SFSOs in terms of luminosity however many of them have a somewhat "sloppy" job...luck of the draw as they say...
  23. As far as I know, every chronometer is certified.
  24. Yeah I've always used a credit card to get the bezel off and fingers to put it back on...
  25. HOLY... Wow...that is breathtaking...congratulations...my "modem" and brain were melted!
