  1. I got a guy in SJ that, while I haven't taken reps to, has always taken care of me in an expedited and reasonable manner. For a quick fix, I HAVE taken a rep over to the kiosk in Miliptas' Great Mall (movement swap, and hand fell off). I'm sure they just farmed it out, but it was taken care of. -k
  2. Jacob, Precista was sold on eBay. Thanks.

  3. Check with Everest Watch Works. If you can get a replacement bezel, Kent might do the work for you. While you're at it you can get the damn thing relumed.
  4. NO...it does give you some insane pumps in the gym (I suppose from the vasodilating effects) but versus NOT taking it? I have to admit, I'm only taking it when I remember to because the mix I take (NO-XPLODE) also has stimulants in it that helps kick my ass into gear much like the old "Ultimate Orange" did back in the days (except no Ephedrine derived substances) I will say this much, I also don't mind the other side effect of NO-XPLODE (and other Arginine based supps)...the stuff gives me wicked BONERS the rest of the day!
  5. Thanks JD. I have to many "murdered out" combos (black on black) to jump on this actual one, but if someone combined the regular blasted steel to the GEN blasted steel bracelet with great results, this may be a strong possibility. Dollars to dollars, the U1 used to show up used on forums on the bracelet for sometimes even LESS than $1000 which kind of doesn't justify the GEN bracelet (new) for me, but the U2 is pricey enough that I think it's the next natural step for a "mod".
  6. lol @ Demsey. Real talk. I mentioned the Milgauss in one of the other threads and no one seemed to give a rat's ass and now it's this big revelation. Whatever. So who's gonna take a plunge on the first one?
  7. I was staring at pics of the Gen as well as all the images of the U2 I could.... It's an awesome replication for sure, but I think the U1 has less tells. Besides nitpicky bezel and dial details I won't go over (unless I had them in front of me or see better images), I could plainly see that the GMT hand is a bit longer on the rep than it is on the gen. The gen hand just skims above the GMT time markers, and the rep seems to go over the number a bit on the images I've seen. Other than that, it's clean out of the box. I don't know of anyone that would go as far as to mod the dial and hands on these just YET. The big question that we've all been asking is...will a gen bracelet fit? Cmon someone, shell out the $300! Oh and congrats bro, don't mind my analysis, she's a beaut! kdx
  8. Looks like Josh is now selling an updated Milgauss with this movement dropped in it, for like, close to 3 bills.
  9. Excellent and concise descriptions. However I would like to add that the part about the Carrera Twin-Time's faux GMT is a little erroneous regarding the Gen. I have a Gen and the GMT hand is under the hour hand, and it is a true 2893 based movement (Caliber 7). The blurb about the GMT hand may make one think that ANY GMT hand under the hour hand is a "faux GMT". Otherwise, very educational.
  10. Wow, that was fast mate. I really ought to ship registered more often. =) I'm glad you received the watch in good order....and that it helped you gain an appreciation for your SMP. I actually had a Seamaster GMT a while back that was stolen, and through all watches gen and rep, its the one that I've never gotten quite over. Your pictures are superb. I really ought to learn how to utilize outdoor lighting more. -k
  11. There are a lot of people that come down on "CONUS only" or "EU only" sellers, but after this experience I can kind of see where they are coming from. I have never been one to limit my sales or purchase to US only but this really leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
  12. Its been well over a month since I've been expecting an ETA noob to arrive "Express" via Deutsch Post. Nothing. Not even a customs note. All tracking says it that it was scanned in the US and the trail becomes cold there. The thing is...I don't think its inherently Deutsch Post. I've had a Rollie rep stolen via USPS before.... Two sub homages (one Invicta, the other a Debaufre or something) were swiped. One was actually recovered as it was on camera as it was being stolen, no doubt by someone who had access to the X-ray machine and knew what was inside (or what they thought was in there). Has this ever happened to anyone? I just have BAD LUCK when it comes to Submariners and the US Mail. I suppose it didn't help that the Noob from Germany had rep papers....that probably really made the Customs bastards DROOL. I wonder if I will ever see my WM9 v2 now....
  13. This is old news. Davidsen is referenced all the time in all the other watch forums. WUS, TZ, I think maybe even PMWF. As long as its not a rep, its fair game. Some people are like, "Who's Davidsen?". That's when the PM feature becomes handy.
  14. I just wrote George and begged him not to give me one with a funky tube or jacked up rehaut. I hope its not too late. A few case scratches are not gonna kill me as I'll probably put them on there myself...this watch is going to be used. However, a messed up rehaut is gonna [censored] me off something fierce, I'm not trying to take the watch apart if I can help it. Thanks bk, I should've went with my original impulse and PMed you instead, but the budget was tight and it sounded like a good deal....
  15. As FxrAndy says...research. Go through the site, use the site functionality and do some homework. Figure out how much you're willing to spend, and what faults you can live with, and go with that. And to add to what FM said...the perfect sub sits at an AD and will cost you no less than $4000 or more. Read some reviews and get educated but be forewarned...bring a snack because it can take a long. Shipping from China is relative to your chosen dealer. I've had packages magically arrive from China-US in 3 days after order. Sometimes others could take 6 weeks or more. Fast shipping doesn't always equate to better product and vice versa.
  16. After some investigation into WM9 (as I am affiliated with their payment processor), I have plunked down 375 USD for a z serial refurb with the v2 upgrades. Will update this thread with my thoughts once the watch arrives, although I couldn't do By-Tor's thread any more justice, all the info is there (apart from the fact mine is coming from WM9 and his was "upgraded" by Bk) Thanks again AD for the info. Since I had an itchy trigger finger on a noob with ETA I wasn't quite prepared to pay 500-650 USD for ANOTHER sub, but 375 USD was just low enough for me to play target practice with my MasterCard again.
  17. Yes, they will ship to the EU. (WM9 will, BK I'm pretty sure will as well)
  18. Allergy, you bastard. I have a noob with ETA and box on the way from Germany... I guess that ones gonna be on sale on the forum soon if one of these refurb WM9's are available right now. All this great information is really hurting my wallet!
  19. Well, if you're not a stickler for size, OR a Manual Wind and can spend a lil more cash.... ...you can always get an Automatic "Speedmaster Lite", which looks almost like the moonwatch complete with hesalite crystal. I've seen them go as low as $800ish give or take recently. Some people say that the 2892 with the Dubois Depraz module is not a REAL chronograph, but I'm like hey... it's a REAL Omega...no need to mod!
  20. Argh. Foiled again. I am hoping no...with so many good "Noobs" out there why add another to the bunch? Make a better Sub damn it!
  21. Check out the pics posted at Josh's with no description or price just yet. Any details on these? Could this be the one we're waiting for?!?
  22. I just need to be able to afford a brand new gen Sub or GMT on one of my future commissions, and I think I'm done for, for a while. The reason the reps didn't do it for me is that I didn't want to go through the time and expense modding the CGs, reluminizing and adjusting for accuracy, all while doing a water seal. I'd happily buy a gen to get all of that rather then go through all that hassle for something that is essentially a fake. This is why a Davidsen PAM appealed to me. Now if there were "Davidsen-like" already modded Subs in the market, I may be up for that.
  23. LOL @ LordRasta... ain't that the truth! I plan my outfits around my watches, not the other way around...usually. That's a serious psychological affliction! lol
  24. Ever had that one special Rep to end all REPS... at least for a long time? I am a WIS through and through, so my collection is mostly gens, always revolving but can be as diverse as Omegas to Seikos, Casio to Accutron, etc... I've been whittling them down because I will probably be moving soon, but even as I check this forum out, there is that one watch I keep coming back to... My Replica Breitling SFSO (Swiss version with AR) from Josh. The damn thing just keeps too perfect time, and is just so darn convincing and comfy on the wrist sometimes I wonder why I have so many watches! If it just had regular (long lasting) watch lume and maybe a better bezel pearl, it would be damn near perfect in my book. I still check out other reps here and there but out of all my reps and gens, the SFSO always finds it's way to my wrist. I could kick myself for almost selling it a while back to fund another rep. I'd sooner spend the money to have it professionally lumed. Any of you out there found THE ONE when it comes to your Replicas? k
  25. Sorry fellas, haven't really posted here (member at another one of the "known" forums) but I thought I'd finally chime in.... I really wanna like this watch. In addition the one watch I got from Josh I was really pleased with (but might sell for this model...if) However is it just me or are the numbers on the bezel fatter on the rep than on the gen. Please no flames about me being nit-picky. It's just much too obvious when you post a gen and a rep close to each other for us to see. Check out the "10" on the bezel and tell me what you think. If it's truly 1:1, then a gen bezel should fit on this right? Right there I would probably be sold immediately. I'd want a relume of that sucker though, past the telltale crown guards (someone really sits there and scrutinizes those crown guards?) I think entering a dark room would give you away more than these other pesky little differences.
