I don't like the pearl but the rest of it looks ok to me. If you didn't pay a lot for it, I would say good watch. I have some really good Omega watches but I don't have any chrono so if I saw this one with the proper pearl I would say it is fine.

What do you mean man, hah.. none of them are 100% smooth sweep, that is impossible with a mechanical movement I mean unless you want to sacrifice all of the power reserve. Even a rolex is not 100% smooth. 21j movements are 5 ticks per second and the ETA 25j is 7 ticks per second. You aren't going to find any rep that is more than 7 ticks per second and afaik even the genuine Rolex is 7 ticks per second and omegas are something like 6 usually due to increased power reserve which is why some people like to get them with 21j (I don't). I have had really cheapo 21j movements before that were very crude and I could see the seconds hand tick past where it should so that would be "jarring" for me and I hate that. I mean sometimes it can tick one whole second like a quartz would and probably is very inaccurate. But most of the 21j and 25j I have now don't do that. Anyway the only way you are going to get 100% smooth sweep in a wrist watch is to buy a gen Seiko Spring Drive which imho is an ugly watch and costs too much money for a Japan watch. Still it supposedly is a marvel of engineering since it is perpetual and kinetic at the same time. Imho if I was you and liked the watch I had, I would have kept it. It probably was fine. A legit quartz? $1600+ for the Omega is a lot to me because it is only quartz. The gen ETA movement inside it is worth about $25 or so new, so you're basically not getting much for your money that way. I like those but I would rather buy a few rep Omegas with that cash. Anyway to answer your question, to get the smoothest movement in a rep get the ETA version. There are some 21j that are 28,800bph but I have no experience with them and those get very mixed reviews from users on here. I believe those ones are modified 21j and it is sometimes said they are less reliable that way. First time I ever saw a user come on these boards that doesn't like automatic movements. Puzzling but it happens sometimes. You'll find that 99.9% of the users on here won't bother with a quartz.

answered my own question, it is 45mm with coin edge. which is cool. I didn't realize they went to coin edge for that size of watch. I actually tried the SS 45mm PO on at the AD and it fit which amazed me. I still think 45mm is quite large but it works.

Is this a 45mm watch? The bezel looks like what they were using on the 42.5mm.

I don't have a problem with the ceramic other than what I read on this board is that people are having issues with the bezel not actually being ceramic and numbers smudging off (plus due to this, that means the fact is that it is not really a liquid metal watch). That is an issue to me. But I read the problem possibly doesn't exist in the blue version or maybe it was the 42.5mm blue I forgot which. But I know where you are coming from. I followed the orange 42.5mm through version1 thru version 4 and then there was a long gap and version 5 came out. Very, very very beautiful watch. I own a version 4 and a version 5 (these are non ceramic in case you wonder if I veered off topic which I suppose I did). I do like the titanium watches and I like the black dial watch with white numbers. So the decision on which one to get next is difficult since I was thinking about getting another SS with black/white/non ceramic initially and now there are all these other options, sans a black titanium.. all the titanium watches are blue which could be fine but I never have seen one in person. I read on here once you get it, you are pretty much taken by the watch. But yeah when the ceramic came out, I actually didn't like it. And I would get it if it is the only option available on the watch I am buying which it is, in the case of the titanium. And on the other hand, rolex has ceramics as well. Some I like, some I don't. For example, the TT sub with ceramic looks gaudy to me and I wouldn't spend a dime on one. But the blue ceramic looks really beautiful and I own it.

Be careful what jeweler you take your watch to. I took a watch to a corner watch shop once and they literally blew the lume off of the markers on its dial with an air duster (do watch repair shops actually use computer air dusters on watch parts? it was strange. I didn't know the lume was missing til the watch was paid for and given back to me) and then assembled it. Cost me 60 bucks and refused to refund. I later sold the watch for parts to someone who was making a franken due to that.

Well it is a GMT which I'm not very familiar with nor do I ever buy so I can't help with the aesthetics of the gmt bezel and hand. But otherwise it looks like the newest one to me with clear caseback, ceramic bezel, and correct coin edge style bezel for 42.5mm and liquid metal edition although I haven't seen a liquid metal watch yet without metal numbers on the dial.

Not really my taste in watch, gen or rep, but I remember the cases on these had the He valve right at 10 as on the gen, whereas the non chrono model almost always has the He valve right at 10 as well which is incorrect for the other model of watch. The dial in your photo looks flat. At first inspection this looked fine to me but then I started to notice the replies and took another look. Most people out in the wild won't know anything too but what I have noticed in this hobby it is about the owner's preference not those out in general public. As it should be.

Ya intime didn't have the 42.5mm and doesn't seem to be able to source the watch. I thought the 45 and 42.5 were made by the same factory so I'm not sure why they don't sell it. I would check with Robbie but his prices tend to be high on super reps opposed to most TDs. I also checked with a contact of mine in shenzhen, that was a dead end. They wanted more money than any TD on this board haha. Trusty has been around for many years and that is probably the most dependable one of these although I have heard good things about intime. I got my 5th gen from a site that is no longer listed and I forgot what it was called. it was similar to marvellous as far as I recall and they sent me a youtube video of the watch so I could check it out before they shipped. That was pretty good service. I like that 5th gen, also like my 4th gen. I think my 4th gen has a better movement in it than the 5th.but I am considering selling the 4th gen because I don't seem to need duplicate watches and that could fund another rep.

Not sure about noob factory version, I am assuming they wouldn't be able to manage a decorated movement unless I'm not correct. I'm still not sure who I want to order this 42mm from since a guy pmed me but the shop he recommends cannot produce this model and Trevor says he has it but he doesn't have it listed on his site. The price is much more than I normally pay for an omega rep, last time I got a 5th gen I think it cost about $100 less.

Imo the omega planet ocean states class. Always cool to see when someone is wearing it in an AD, haven't seen anyone wearing one elsewhere yet. I see salesmen wearing it in Tourneau

It looks alright but I'm not into chromos on omegas. I like the 42mm PO and the 45mm po is fine too. it's just the PO is a newer style watch so it is probably more modern in my eyes. speedmaster looks sorta old to me and not as classy/styling.

fair enough. initially I didn't want black and people are happy with the blue. only last thing I am wondering.. what is all the talk about faded bezel? does that affect this watch? (I mean, does it affect the titanium 42.5mm planet ocean with blue dial and blue bezel) ?

It looks to me as if they only make this watch in blue dial. possibly the gen is only blue dial too.

I can't seem to find this watch in 42mm with black dial. I found one dealer with it with blue dial and blue bezel. I would prefer all black for this time.

This is a really cool find, thanks to everyone for the help again. Really cool. right now I do own v4 and v5 orange PO and this watch is a perfect example of what a replica should be. I like these planet oceans better than any other brand I own. Titanium is cool also I know what you mean by feeling cheap. I held a gen that the guy at an AD took out of the box for me to look at, it was a SS 007 edition black dial seamaster. The packaging looked cheap (plastic) and after he handed it it felt like holding a toy because the edges were so nicely cut and the bracelet was flowing down my fingers really nicely. Still, after the fact it felt really nice to hold and was an excellent time piece. So it just takes a little after thought to know what you have. And with these reps, you are getting a pretty decent piece for a super rep when you pick out the right omega... some people on here really enjoy the ProPlofs also and such for example, they're cool although they look a little weird but it is a nice watch.

So it appears that these reps are in fact titanium. I thought that the second poster was bullshitting me and when I saw the next two I did a forum search and sure enough, people are claiming that they are receiving titanium watches. WTF! that is good news! I always wanted a titanium watch. But who should I buy from? I don't know who has the best price and trevor said to negotiate but he avoids the subject entirely lol. Yes but what I am saying is, the titanium rep is made from stainless steel. Shocking? It is not shocking, I mean for $300 you aren't going to expect to get real titanium. That metal is expensive. Bones, are you claiming that they really used Titanium in the rep factory for this watch? I find that very hard to believe. Trevor told me that this watch is made out of stainless steel.

So I found this beautiful new 42mm Omega and was thinking about pulling the trigger. Then I realized something. Full solid titanium case and bracelet. Well... then I thought about it, these reps aren't made out of titanium now are they? What do you guys think. Should I just get the stainless steel version of the rep or the titanium with the clear case back? It is starting to seem kinda silly to get a titanium watch that has no titanium whatsoever in it, however it has some aesthetics that the other 42mm watch lacks (different crown and I'm not sure what else on the top, and the clear case back but you'll barely look at that anyway while having the watch out of the box).

Ofrei usually sells the gen part with the whole bezel assembly and the bezel insert piece alone is a replica. I've seen them in his display case. Just the same exact replica insert you can order on ebay.

I wonder if gen crowns will directly swap in this time or if you still need to replace the crown tubes. Anyone know?

It is a very fine rep and thanks for the pics of the b&w version. I am considering this one. I just am hung up on either 21j or 25j although the price leans me toward the 21j on the b&w. b&w 42.5mm is james bond's watch. he wore one in one of the last films but I forgot which film and what scene(s). usually he was wearing a 45mm but not always.

I think there's a lot of nontrusted that sell the 4th gen and will just steal your money. No, I haven't found any information. It's been a while since I've been to RG too and I think that is where the thread originated. I'm believing that this is a cartel controlled watch and that all the dealers got together and only let one guy sell the 4th generation as I see one dealer still has that one available lol. What a strange world we live in. I paid $235 for mine from Ruby ages ago and Silix kept rinkydinking the deal on the watch I ordered from him and I ended up sending back a few 42mm PO watches. Now they got us believing that Jay and Angel are gone and that someone else runs it. How gullible are you guys? When "Jay and Angel" were running it, they did so many mistakes on my orders and they said "it was one of my worker's fault". What does that tell you guys? There's more than 2 people running that shop. I've learned so much from these boards, much more than anyone really even needs to know. It's kinda interesting though to say the very least. It appears that they are holding off on a new version of the 42mm because they want to shove that ugly Ploprof down every collector's throat since they know nobody really needs it and the watch is like 99.99% pure hype on the boards. It gains them some extra profit. That is just my take on it though.

It does and my watch pin removing tool is stripped so I need to fix it and then I'm going to push all the pins out of the clasp and resolve this issue. Anyone hear anything about this watch being made lately? it's been a while and all I saw them put out is that ugly ploprof. I have since moved on to other brands.
