  1. An EU dealer obviously isn't going to be working nearby the factory so you're going to have better chances of a dealer who will actually replace a seized watch being in China than in EU. The dealers in China obviously sell a tremendous great deal more watches than someone in EU. Your EU guy is just worried about losing his money/merchandise and doesn't want to assist you if that happens. I'd say stick with dealers within your country or dealers in China, don't bother with this guy in EU if he doesn't want to ship then he loses your sale
  2. I believe that some dealers rename themselves, after getting a tarnished image or just not being allowed to sell on certain forums. one dealer reminds me a lot of king, and I noticed that king's site is down now... but it's probably just one of those temporary server errors I'm not sure. When I got into this, the prices were a lot more fair and the quality, primarily of rolex, seemed to be a bit better for very cheap watches except for the submariner which was worse. Now it seems like everything's circling around submariners. Also I've seen quality take a dive on omegas which have jacked up prices.
  3. Ok well, here's my two cents, I keep them on my replicas because I like how they look on there. I know a guy with a gen that was made before holograms and he wears his datejust every day with the original sticker on back, the numbers wore off but you can see where they were. There are variants of hologram stickers out there (maybe even on gens, as I was at one dealer and the hologram on the back of his white dial turn-o-graph had a lot of depth, whereas the next dealer I went to the same day had a blue face turn-o-graph with less depth and looked exactly the same as the hologram that comes on a replica from Andrew or King) But replicas have different looking holograms, many even have replicas of the hologram which aren't hologram at all and look pretty terrible. I heard that if you keep the sticker on the back, the back of the case will pit. I'm not sure if that is true or not, but I just clean off the back of my watch with a cloth every time I'm going to let it sit for several days. I figure that's fine enough, plus I may be able to buy a new caseback for a rep anyhow if I need one. Then again, as a guy at work said, if something goes wrong with the watch it was only ~$200 just throw it away and get a new one. Gens appear to come with an extra sticker on top of the hologram, which is advertised by sellers on ebay to help protect the hologram. So I assume there are also people out there that wear the watch with the hologram and a transparent sticker on top of that. It could help keep the number from fading and other problems, but I think you may get dirt under it too. I thought about getting one of those, but even $5 is too much money for a transparent piece of plastic. I guess it just depends on how into rlx watches you are. There's a parts dealer on this board somewhere that sells those. I guess they might be gen, they have a red stripe on them. I haven't ever seen a rep come with this. Oh I kept my transparent blue sticker on my seiko and have seen that usually people take that off too. But I feel that it preserves the finish on the back of the watch as well as protects it from getting scraped by the clasp (which annoys the hell out of me on watches). One way to avoid this is to wrap your watch around a foam or small pillow, then you shouldn't really have a problem with the clasp scratching the back of the case.
  4. good thing it was only an audi. did the driver survive?
  5. I swapped my TT with silix cuz the 12 was slanted, and ended up with one where the M's don't line up and the SELs would be a pain in the ass to take out too since the pins are bent to hold them on haven't worn it yet, it's just a piece for my desk by my pc
  6. You're lucky if it is below a 2.0. Any firmware 2.0 and below can be downgraded (or you already have it) Ok so if you have a 1.51 or 1.52, you have to upgrade to 2.0 (not 2.01, 2.5, 2.6 etc) and then you can downgrade to 1.50. But be careful where you get the update from, a lot of places might have 2.5 firmware hidden in a package claiming to be a downgrader. I still have the 1.50 downgrade kit on my G:\ drive at home just in case I'd need it. I downgraded 2 systems with it. Btw, I heard Norton virus scanners will nab and quarantine or delete your downgrader kit if they see it. But if you have 1.50 you're all set for homebrew. And for ISO emulation you'll still usually need to have a UMD in your drive to run one. I don't think emulators and other homebrew require that. Check out www.maxconsole.net PSP forum for more info.
  7. I dunno man, anyone who doesn't accept pp really did something terribly wrong imo. Plus this place doesn't respond at all to my inquiries any more.
  8. king should be able to straighten it out with you man.. about half the dealers on this board have flukes in their watches but the veterans will help you out with your orders. king's been around for a long, long time
  9. ...... before this thread gets completely hijacked I may be interested, just if it is in SF make it close to bart because there's absolutely nowhere to park there whenever I go lately Actually last time I did find parking (which actually was free), someone clipped my rear fender a little bit and I had to get the dent worked out. Ah well... What does one bring to this kind of function? Not sure which watch I want to wear a lot of the time Maybe a TOG. There's a lot to talk about a TOG
  10. it's an odd dealer. I ask him if i can get a silver face TT tog with the ""gold"" midlinks, he says he can't supply it with the silver face although he can supply silver face with gold plated midlinks. Isn't it the same bracelet? meh... I emailed asking if I could buy the bracelet alone, sure enough..no reply (this was a few months later). If it was any other dealer, since it is the same watch and not asking for a face change or anything that difficult, they'd do it. I dunno what's up with this dealer but I found someone who can sell me the gold plated one and he said he doesn't have real gold midlink available for rolesor, i trust that guy more. Will have to do a review after I receive it I guess hehe. Ugh gold plating is baaaadd on reps though, my TOG I eventually got with the oyster strap has real thin plating and isn't plated on the sides. Note to people doing gold plating: we want the sides plated too, or gold fill it or something because it yells out fake once you take it off.
  11. Actually...you could buy every rep with that kind of money.
  12. quality of reps i've been getting has been going downhill, so my collection is starting to change into all ETA (replacing bad chinese reps with ETA movement ones, I've found often gives you more correct markings on the watches as well for whatever reason I have little clue, cuz when I got into all this I was able to order choice of asian or swiss movement without harming the appearance of the watch) I guess it all comes with luck though because as I recall, bricktop's ETA 007 SMP which I saw he sold to another member is one of the worst looking reps I have ever seen, unless it was just a bad photo..
  13. memory stick for movies is the way to go, they're going to stop manufacturing movies on UMDs within a year.
  14. nice. shouldn't be that hard to rep, I mean the dial is mostly flat. how can you go wrong. we will see. the buck begins here I think if I ever buy a seamaster again, it'll be a regular model though.
  15. Aren't you suppose to use some sort of shielding in the watches when you use this stuff? I mean such as, I heard rlx used lead in their crystal and possibly lead in the case as well to shield the radiation. I'm not sure though. But I know none of the new replica watches would have any lead in them.
  16. just remember not to eat the silica gel or the watch
  17. looks great, m's line up and it has the same bezel mine has which I'm very happy with. Also looks like the crown on the sapphire probably is a little less visible than others and your date window is the correct color. Not sure what's with the gold date wheel like mine and king's has.
  18. ya i don't think this guy did any research at all after reading this. Is he basing this article off your typical 1990 $25 fake? I've seen real subs with hollow midlinks and replica subs with automatic movement, I haven't seen a quartz rlx in years, besides a gen one which I was reading an article about. I bet if you showed this guy a genuine quartz model, he'll tell you it is a fake.
  19. is this an old topic? I thought there was a different thread about this watch. Looks like a fake to me, has T - swiss made - T on the bottom. http://cgi.ebay.com/Mens-Rolex-Air-King-55...1QQcmdZViewItem sad and I hear the airking isn't that desirable of a rolex to own anyway in gen, but I don't really see why besides that it doesn't have a date.
  20. I've been wondering this too, what one could do I guess is submerge a midlink in common vinegar and see if it turns green. But I'm not sure if that's a good test because rose-gold is composed of gold and copper. The rose-gold midlink watch I got a while back looks very copper color, but I'm not sure if that means it is just plated with copper or if it is rose-gold.
  21. could always buy a cheap asian rep with a nice face and swap dials, I'd assume
  22. the lady yachtmaster definitely is a good watch for a lady for ages under 40 imo. I got a pearlmaster from silix, it's nice.
  23. true, usually I eventually mess up some how but key rule of thumb is, don't let emotions get involved with the internet Well unless they're fun emotions. I think I need to not let the occasional mismarking on a rep get to me so much, and enjoy them for what they are I've still kept my new TT sub brand new since I received it, I wonder how many members have watches that they never wear nor resize. Still waiting on my new TT TOG from Andrew
  24. Hi just came from the old RWG, not sure why it's changing hence that I'm a newbie Hopefully things are a bit more relaxed on this board, I've got some good information off the other one and made a couple friends.
