How does one sell on this site? I have a dress Patek Chronograph if anyone wants to PM me about it ;-) It's really nice, just not my style. See Eddie Lee's website for pics - I got it from him.

I think everyone's answer would be "no", which would show that money is the main driver. However, for me it is the main driver because of what I use the watches for: samplers and beaters.

Anyone who compares a gen with a rep is deluded. There is no comparison. Maybe when you're talking about Tag Heuer, but when we're talking about AP, Panerai, IWC, Rolex etc. - the gen is so much nicer and more satisfying. However, a rep is an excellent way to tell whether you like a particular style. I think if you appreciate a brand, you ought to buy the real thing. Do unto others as you would have others do to you. Would you like anyone to rip your job off, and undercut you by doing what you do at a lower price? What goes around comes around. However there are just so many brands out there, and reps are a good way to sample them. They also make good beaters. Those are my two reasons for buying reps: sampling, and using them as beaters. For horological appreciation - only a gen will do.

I find the water test to be 100% accurate for me. The water test is so accurate that I really don't need to spend $75 on any other tool. Glass is more sticky than sapphire, so when you put a drop of water on glass and roll it around, you'll find it sticking to most of the surface of the glass. With sapphire crystal, you'll find that the water will bead. Works every time.

unlike the old site, I find the frontpage blurb of this site to be strangely explicit. I would have thought a cryptic message like "this site helps you avoid cheap knock-offs that are sold advertised as the real thing" - you know something that sounds legal, and benevolent. Instead the blurb is outright explicit with its clandestine intent. Interesting approach!

.. do you lubricate/service all your watches with the 2836 movement, or are you using some of them completely unserviced? If you are using your 2836 powered watches unserviced - how are they performing? Long term performance? I'm just wondering what's your experience. Thanks.

hey there, I really love the Exp2, but when I got mine the lume was terrible on the hands. If I get another one, will I expect the hands to be just as bad, or can I expect the lume application to be inconsistent? In other words, sometimes the lume is good, sometimes the lume is bad (on the SAME model watch)? What's your experience with the Exp2, or other watches as far as lume consistency is concerned? (comparing the SAME model watch). Thanks.

I just checked out EL's Pam 165 pics. The watch looks like it has the right sized crown, and quite handsome hands too. Anyone know about this watch? 1) what kind of movement? 2) is the crown spring loaded? (cross fingers)

I've been out of touch with the rep world, but what's new? I'm not asking about new models, but more rep "technology". Do the new rep Panerais have spring-loaded crowns and proper width? Are the movements better (lubricated properly and clean)? I'm waiting for some exciting improvements before I purchase another rep.

it's real. The end link is perfectly cut. Even the reps aren't perfect in this regard - you can tell by the cut. The rep is good enough for me, but I can clearly see the difference.
