  1. Thanks for this...watching it closely!!
  2. Hah hah...PM me your address P4...I've got a shiny nickel with your name on it!!
  3. It sounds like it's time for servicing. You'll need to find a watchmaker friendly to reps...a bit of a pain ...but required here. I remember hearing Zig talk about a solution to something like this...can't remember what...might be the click is disengaged or something. I'll see if I can dig up the post when I have more time.
  4. That's an unusual one...usually see the classic white BA with the blue hands. Beautiful pic!!
  5. Lanikai did a photo write-up...check it out. Tops!!
  6. Hah hah...definite prize. I'm in for the girl eating cake? Who do I send money to??
  7. I've seen it go the other way too by qualified watchmakers. I used to do it in the timesetting position and never had problems...but after reading Zig say to do it in the winding position...I switched...still no problems. It's less of an issue if you know how to fix the keyless works.
  8. Welcome aboard. Read my Noob Guide to be introduced to the rep world. It's fun...but it's also a learning journey.
  9. Yeah...that's why the pic. This is the uber-expensive one:
  10. Relume solved the dust...because it coats the dry crumbly stuff that was on there.
  11. I know...it's not easy. My quick search was this one (not the A7750 specific one...but at least it's an automatic ETA): Zig's Stem Removal in Winding Position He's said this a few times in various posts...not a specific topic...that makes it difficult to find as it's buried in the threads in various places. Aaarrrrgggh!!!!
  12. By crown...I think you mean removing the stem (which is attached to the crown). Contrary to what Peyups has said above, The Zigmeister's recommendation is always to pull a 7750 from the winding position as it reduces problems on re-insertion. You can search for his posts on this. Other member's opinions have varied on this one...I follow Zig's advice.
  13. At that age...it depends on the specific model. Show a pic and we can get a better idea. If it's a 40's chronograph...it could be as much as $9,000 USD...or as little as a $150...depending on the model, condition, etc.
  14. The problem then becomes that the window won't be centered between the 4 and 5 or the subdial registers so it will look a bit funny. The best solution is a proper datewheel which is not likely going to happen.
  15. Agreed...it's the PAM of the Breitling world...a true strap swapper contender.
  16. It's all been said before...the 06 is awesome. AR is pretty good...but Chief's is tops. Mine was lumed by Zig as well, serviced, ETA DW. This is Zig's shot of mine with the RC-Tritec SL BGW9 lume (the chrono second hand is an orange glow too...but in the pic the crazy brightness of the blue lume drowns it out...in person it's awesome):
  17. Well done!! Off the shelf, the DSN and Sead ones will be the best. I would also cruise the member trade section for a modded one.
  18. Zig did a review in his subsection on the forum...read it...it explains everything about this movement. The expensive route, but a truly fantastic result is to get a Concepta gen movement, dial and hands and then machine down the case to accomodate the thinner gen movement. It works out to a essentially a gen visually, and mechanically at about 50% the cost.
  19. And it's already out in rep form from the TRUSTED dealers on this forum.
  20. Jorg Hysek is a small Swiss company that's only a few years old. He's more popular in the Middle East and the US. He used to design watches for Tag, Cartier and Breguet but is actually more well known for designing pens. His big thing is the 1,5,7,11 numbering instead of the 3,6,9,12...it's his "catch". His design focus is on the look and case design of the watch more than mechanics but in spite of this, he has a tourbillon out...
  21. If you are in the UK...buy from one of the UK based dealers like Precious Time, possibly Narikka...search for the EU based dealers. There could be a customs issue.
  22. Great observation A!!! Nice breakdown. I guess to have the better datewheel on a rep that will sit visually sunken due to the tricompax mod may or may not be the best mod. Interesting...yeah...I'm not sure who would have bulk datewheels for this.
  23. Hey R...I think the Skyland datewheel if it fits will look better. It's got a more "Breitling" font than the standard ETA. As to the hour/datewheel changeover...it's an easy fix...go get that Offshore toolset. You just have to decase, pop off the hands...and spend some time swearing away as you learn to mount the hands at the date changeover time.
