  1. Sounds like fun. Next time you are in Miami you should check out East Coast Jewelry (in Palm Beach as well). They have a great selection and are the ones responsible for numerous anniversary editions including HBB mellow yellow. For their 20th (??) anniversary they had limited edition watches with yellow in them made by everyone from HBB to AP.
  2. It may well exist but I have seen 3-4 CD's at 2 different AD's (both 2007 and 2006) and none came with a bracelet. As was previously posted the bracelet is IMHO more critical for the Aquatimer.
  3. Keeping it simple:PAM 196 on OEM croc deployant with relume, better hands, gen crown and Lello Datewheel.
  4. Pleased to see the response from Mark. I actually think responding to specific comments is helpful. It allows the initial poster to reflect on their comments. Some folks may owe an apology - especially if they have never even met or done things with Mark. Some folks may not. In my case, I stand by my general opinion. I did a couple of projects with him and others. Some were successful and other weren't. That is always the case when embarking on projects. And I believe they were entered into with the best of intentions. In my case I was even okay with the concept of attempting to upgrade a watch or two and the possibility of failure. Well, on that score we both made a mistake. Neither he nor I knew what would be involved. But here is the rub as long as we are going to go there. I never thought about asking for the money for say a new movement or for the cost of making the other one work or even the upfront payment on the initial labor. IMHO, that is not the game. And I am not asking for it now. Although it has never happened with Ziggy, he and I have done several projects where we knew there was a real chance that the watch could be trashed. But where I did find it surprising is that I willingly took the economic loss on the assumption that Mark had tried his best (true) and was so upset about it that I thought he was done with watches (false). And I know he had actually invested money trying to make things right where he could. If someone walks away from the watch game as people have in the past so be it. But this is not the case. To the contrary, Mark is now a full fledged gen owning member of Risti having not only bought gens but even having traveled to GTG's if I read that forum correctly. Everyone can conclude what they want. And for the record yes I have long since considered Mark a friend and do have mixed feelings. In closing, I do hope people have largely resolved whatever issues they have with Mark. And I hope and assume that those who still have issues will PM him directly and he will respond.
  5. So you can get an Iphone on opening day but you can't find the much more sought after Aquatimer rep months after it was promised. Now which would you have at this moment?
  6. I suspect you might be better served with the "Worstfit" Manual.
  7. Well we agree it looks nothing like a Panerai Logo deployant. In which case why bother with the logo. Put your initials on it.
  8. I hate to pile on regarding the deployants but I am looking at a gen polished deployant on my wrist as I speak. The deployant should not be fully polished and the "panerai" on the outside is way off unless the engraving on the deployants for H series and onward changed.
  9. I know the answer on the Honpo case and it is very surprising. There are neither screws nor glue. The markers are pressure fit into the bezel. So on mine Ziggy just swapped them. In fact, if I can find a way to get t-swiss-t onto my 7753 I am going to get the markers rhodium plated.
  10. That is what I read too. Someone gave a general warning over at the other forum so all the folks who wanted to alert the Risti folk should be happy. All of those who would just assume leave well enough alone should be happy as it did not turn into another rep fiasco over there.
  11. It will all be fine. You were tired of that Speedy anyhow.
  12. Actually the thread is not gone and Mark has responded suggesting the mystery person contact him directly to resolve his issue directly. Those who felt the need to "out" him should be satisfied and those who don't care - don't care.
  13. But they don't have the same date.
  14. By the way on the one gilt Bond a very similar one with large crown and replacement insert just sold at Christies a couple of weeks ago for $41,600. You may want to rethink that estimate. At the same auction a gen 3646 with provenance and pictures failed to sell with an estimate of $70,-100,000.
  15. Look here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=57373
  16. How about a refrigerator magnet? That I got.
  17. Rolli- Looks good. On the engraving on the back you have good flexibility as to what you put on it. The gen 3646 I saw recently had it's caseback engraved simply and elegantly with the owners initials. None of this hand scratched engraving so you do have flexibility. And that watch had the full provenance including who the owner was and pictures of him while in the military wearing it. It was a relief as I really didn't want a nazi inscription on mine and will simply go with initials. -Kruz
  18. Well, that was inevitable. I guess we will never know who outed him.
  19. TTK- Do you really think they are all aluminum? And no mine did not come from the cartel.
  20. If you are worried about getting the caseback off I wouldn't touch the mainspring.
  21. Well, I have looked at a number of gens and the more I look the more confused I get. I would have sworn that at least through the F series it matched up well to C3 based on holding a rep and gen at the same time. As Ziggy mentioned, looking at pictures is very misleading. You literally need to take a C3 rep and hold it up against a same series Gen in the same light and see how it matches up.
  22. That would be very surprising if it were aluminum. There must be a simple test. My 3717 seems to be as durable as my SS Inge though.
