I just had to come back and take another look. It looks fantastic. Now I have to double AR my crystal.

The hands are beautiful as is the grail. What I don't understand though is the split minute hand. I had the good fortune to be wearing a gen Kampfschwimmer with the the Rolex movement and only one of the hands was split. But please keep me in mind. I think Christmas is getting more expensive.

Is anyone showing pictures of the final version yet. The one pictured has the same misaligned rotating bezel. I am going to wait it out for the bracelet version in any case.

Hand should be adjustable if it is a 2836 GMT. It doesn't adjust in one-hour increments like 2892 but it should be readily adjustable. Sorry to hear it.

The other reason maybe that it is an inexpensive movement and it can be tough to offer one at a higher price without either siginificant rework which smaller companies can't afford or an existing historical heritage (Panerai, etc.). I assume that in general automatics sell better than manual winds - convenience factor. And on the benefit of being able to (forced to) wind to full power you can do the same thing with the automatics. Only watch fanatics prefer handwinds to automatics.

White for an entirely different reason. I do have both but the white is more accurate. On the black the latest generation rep dial only comes with chromed hour numbers and marker surrounds. The genuine has frosted numbers. So on the black you have to stick with the first generation dial with smaller numbers, too small cross and squared date box. Stick with white with 3rd generation dial for best accuracy. I also like the white better because we all have so many black dial SS watches.

It will come out when the manufacturer wants it to come out. Not when our dealers want to sell it.

Do you really want to be counting on a handwind with or without a bezel while scuba diving? The watch stops when your mainspring winds down since no amount of motion will keep it powered up. No idea if this is the reason but that is what popped into my mind.

And in my case all of my favorite reps are heavily modded.

Today I am lazy so PAManiacs please help out. I have a PVD case back from the person who used to do Finepic's watches. Not loving my dial. I am looking for a reference for where to get a dial. Of course I would love to buy a gen but I suspect I am looking for a rep dial. Custom is fine too. Any ideas? Feel free to PM if it is a proprietary source.

Still debating between the AP ROO and Big Pilot. And I think the Big Pilot is winning. Now all I need is the money. I used to think AP was an exclusive watch until the salesman at the AP store in NY told me that they sell 25,000 pieces a year and the largest seller is the ROO. Not very exclusive is it?

If the key parameter is "out of the box" than I go with GST Chrono or HBB Mellow Yellow.

Nice review. All your points are good points. The one question I have was regarding the AMG ti chrono and its ti finish. My colleague wears the gen daily and based on the pics of the rep I have seen the finish and exact coloring does not appear identical. I found that the case with the GST chrono but less noticeable. A good polishing reduced the textured look and lightened up the color to virtually identical.

V- No I don't post on risti. I am not a member there but I enjoy reading occasional factual posts and have bought there. IMHO, the truth with gens is that you buy them and then you own them. Nice to wear occasionally but I prefer to wear reps which have love and sweat put into them. There are certain events, functions or trips where I only bring a gen but those are very rare. Reps are my true love when it comes to horology. Just wish I could convince the wife.
