Great minds think alike. And if you are on an off-the-rack budget do it with Hart Schaffner & Marks Travelor Shirts. Double button cuffs with very large sleeves so you use the inner button on the non-watch wearing hand. Even after 20 trips to the Chinese laundry the 47mm still fits under. Weird hobby - weird people.

Wait until you see the vintage set. I am loving that 45mm.
I am still deciding whether to transpose the Palp Crown onto my 24 which has a thinner crown guard and replace with gen. It would require another CG though as the lip is much deeper on the gen crown. In terms of Mods:
Both have relume, Jimmy CG's, Watchmen cyclops and Lello datewheels. 29 has gen crown and 63 has Palp crown and gen hands.
That gen is too cool for school. Angus' final improved kevlar/buckle combo is on the way to me now. I know it is wrong size and completely impractical but can't wait to put it on the 243. Outdoing PAM.
V-
Really not trying to cast aspersions on Palp crown. They are very well made and in fact I just bought a couple of extra. In truth it is not fair because knowing what I know now I would never use a Palp crown with a Jimmy CG. They look good with the deeper CG's you find on say the 24A rep or others. If Palp/PAM ever get around to doing a proper 1.9 or 2.0 that would be fabulous. I do hope the group buy works out on the gen crowns. I heard from one forum member the seller is now asking well over $100 individually.
Just got my 29 back with original crown back from Ziggy so I figured I would post some shots of it with its twin - 63. Many mods but the principal differences are palp crown and gen hands on the 63 and gen crown on the 29. Both have Jimmy CG.

The classic chrono avanger - Swiss movement and relumed gen dial. Add the rubber strap and it is the perfect weekender. Makes me look more rugged - not.
White face with larger cross and double ar coat is fabulous too. Makes the mis-shapen date window less obvious. I always thought the white dial was the wrong color until I was wearing mine with the AR coat from Chieftang done and saw a gen in the window. That is a rarity around here as retailers usually prefer to display the more expensive chrono. The dial looks spot on with the AR coat. And the date font, although certainly not perfect, is not that noticeable either.
Sorry about that, I mis-spoke. The smaller rad's are 42mm and typically chronos but they do wear well on women. They include 47, 147, 158, and 163. If you want to see something humorous try a RG 231 on a smaller woman's wrist - awesomely gaudy.
The Rad's definitely sit better on a smaller wrist. Start a woman on one of the 40mm Rads. Next thing you know - the Fiddy. I wouldn't try a 47mm PVD on her though.
I vote for either 3717 or VC Overseas. Both are 42mm and fit nicely under a shirt sleeve. But my first choice is 3717 with croc strap - very cool and yet business elegant.
They don't offer it because it would require some rework on a movement (as Ziggy says - mixing and matching parts) as opposed to simply replacing one movement with another.
Absolutely true what V says. This will have to go to a modder. At least on this one we know at least one person who can do it. So everyone please factor in additional cost for that.
In terms of process here is what I have in mind. Once we know whether these work with 6497's and we don't know that yet I will start another loop asking for folks to sign up. That will have a big impact on count. I will then go back to the seller and get the final price based on the count. Once I know that I will post it and people will have a few day window to make payment. I will provide a Paypal account if this moves forward as these are legitimate items and there are no worries. If you do not have access to a paypal account please contact one of your friends on the forum who does. I do not want to deal with money orders or other stuff. Sorry.
As I have continually said, I make no guarantees whether this will fit in your watch. I am simply facilitating a group buy. If there are any paypal complaints I will kill this immediately. Life is too short. So for now we will wait and see what Rob has to say.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, BIG THANKS TO ZIGGY WITHOUT WHOM NONE OF THESE PROJECTS WOULD HAPPEN.
