  1. Thanks for keeping us so well informed. We are, of course, hopeful and patient. Most importantly, thanks for all your eforts.
  2. I suspect they didn't know the delivery timing when they sent their watches. At this point people should be focused on facts and not opinions. There is no point in having folks who have not done business with Joe posting opinions. There are some pretty simple questions which forum members who have had recent transactions with Joe should answer: If the work has been completed are you satisfied with the work? If you are still waiting, how long has it been and have you been able to contact him? I still have no sense (after six pages of postings) how many watches are with Joe waiting to be repaired and, other than Namor and a couple of others, how many people have had a bad experience on the mods or the repairs they received. IMHO, anyone who is or has been involved with transactions with Joe and is reading this loop and not posting their own experience is not doing justice to other forum members. Facts are facts. Opinions are not helpful at this point.
  3. Just came upon this from Joshua: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v646/jos...20Swiss%207753/ Sub-dial color looks like it is blue rather than the flat gray on the gen but I like different colored sub-dials in any case. I am not aware of the 162 coming with any other subdial color. Does anyone else know differently?
  4. Agree with Finepics. I have had mine for close to two months now and still feel that way. The date is much closer to the dial than the 7750 196's and it is centered between the 4 and the 5. And beyond the risk of ruining what you have there is no guarantee that the quickset pusher will work.
  5. 2-3 hours a day. More when I travel. No wife and kids to bother me. I have logged onto RWG from five different continents and at more than 30 airports. And in my case the idea that I spend less because I buy reps is a fallacy.
  6. I hadn't looked back in weeks. If it has died, it's all for the better anyhow. The place had turned into one big looney bin anyhow. To admin and all the mods who stepped up - Many thanks for recognizing the coming demise of RWG. I know you folks kept it going out of you're own pockets long after Blade had disappeared.- You guys are champs and I am truly grateful. LONG LIVE RWG.CC!!
  7. Namor- Better late than never. Kudos to you for having the courage to step forward. I can't say I ever had work done by Joe but what I can say is that I asked Ziggy to do me a favor and do full mods on an MBW Comex. This is not a service he provides but I was eager and he has modded and serviced virtually every watch I own. Fortunately he was curious enough to give it a one-time go. Needless to say, his work was fabulous. I did post it on old RWG. What I didn't mention at the time was that the cost was a fraction (read more than 50% less (including all the parts)) of what Joe was asking. Since Ziggy was not offering the service I did not bring it up. But, for that reason, I stayed away. To the Membership as a whole- I do hope that others who have had a bad experience with anyone will post it. I do. We all have an obligation to either post on the forum or PM the mods. This forum is all about protecting its membership. If there is an occasional problem with a dealer or watchsmith, members should report that as well. That way one can weigh the good against the bad. If there is any sort of bad pattern emerging, we all have the obligation to inform the membership ASAP. The crap that Ziggy took on the old forum was ridiculous and unconscionable. At the time I felt Ziggy's postings were fair and accurate and was amazed as to what members would sink to. I know the mods will not let this happen here. I was just curious as to how many folks actually have watches with Joe. Is it a few or dozens? Unfortunately, I suspect it is the latter.
  8. Try Cape Cod polish cloth first. It is usually pretty good for small scratches.
  9. Very nice looking watch. Wear it well.
  10. I do like the different color subdials. But they figured that one out quite a while ago with the 162. And the Pandas, of course.
  11. Well you seem to be checking the delivery system quite frequently.
  12. Count me in for four. Put it together with the new cyclops, add in the upcoming crown and you are pretty damn close to accurate. Great work Finepics.
  13. Mine fit even with the fatter Lello crown. You almost always have to shave down the lever or adjust the sides of the guard to fit flush against the case. I have two waiting for the new crowns. And yes, the lever feel is virtually identical to a gen.
  14. I love that concept watch. If it does come out it will be a toss up as to whether my next gen is that or a decent looking PAM with a proprietary movement (read: one that doesn't have a power reserve resembling the speedometer from a 1973 Chevy running across it).
  15. I will stick with my Pandas. Kind of amusing that they elected to put the metal rings around the lumed hour markers as they do on the subs.
  16. Dude, what took you so long. Great to catch up. Have a great rest of the weekend. - You're fellow "watchman"
  17. A horror story but at least it has a happy ending. A+ for effort.
  18. Might look better if you looked at it in a mirror.
  19. Beautiful movement. But where is the swan neck?
  20. I don't think so. You have $30 at this moment and I can account for at least $200 in pictures in the PAM section.
