  1. You can always try pushing the pin up in the crown guard so that it lines up with the top and sits high from the bottom up.
  2. Now that is what I call a prompt resolution. Many thanks to Admin for promptly dealing with whatever the issue was.
  3. This may be a silly question, but is there any way to make it so that pictures posted here can not be downloaded (at least for some period of time) or the computer that downloads it is registered? And of course if the person can ever be identified they should be banned.
  4. First shipment is due as previously mentioned in four weeks. I am sure someone will have a spare or two at that time. A number of the watchsmiths on this forum bought several so they should have them as well. The first run was for 100. This particular run is backed by the Watchmen as to quality. As for future runs that will depend on how successful this one is (both in terms of quality and future demand).
  5. Let's make it easy. First time warning. Second time banning.
  6. Poljot has a very good reputation for keeping time. Unitas is not particularly better and the bridges on the Poljot look very similar to the original Rolex. Plexiglass is the usual crystal and the price shoud be $180-200. I don't know which crown you are looking at but it is the Brevet crown.
  7. I thought so too except the 118 with the same crown/cg combination actually may be.
  8. Woody- If you look at the pictures in the article you posted, what model is sitting next to the sub? Is that the 118? It even looks like it is a brown dial (at least compared to the sub).
  9. Christ, this thing is growing on me. Could be my first gen in a long time. Wouldn't you know it had to be quartz. Then again it would go nicely with my $1.2 million interplanetary PATEK. The world one wrist and the stars on the other.
  10. Ubi- I like the concept of the 40 but what caseback do you use and do you think that the T Swiss T vintage dial really looks like tritium? I always think of tritium as cream colored.
  11. Here is the picture from Panerai's website on the 036: If you blow it up, it looks like L Swiss L. It gets more intriguing as the 036 has tritium markers but Lume hands so they can call it whatever they want. If I knew L Swiss L was accurate I would probably pull the trigger. Do people agree that the 177H has an inferior crown to the 118 or 036? 036: 177:
  12. In the mood for a Ti PAM. Opinions are sought from the PAMaholics. I have not bothered with pictures as you know them all anyhow. Here is what I am considering and what I know: PAM 036 (Josh) - Probably best of the bunch. Killer crown, properly sized crown guard and lever. Original rep bridges which look out of place on every other rep are accurate here as that is what the original came with. Only issue I am trying to figure out is "L Swiss L" versus "T Swiss T". Rep says "L Swiss L". LaCote clearly shows "T Swiss T". Panerai website looks like "L Swiss L" but it is difficult to make out. As most who are bothering to read this thread know, 036 was a 1998 special edition and there were only 30 or so made. Paneristi claims they came with tritium markers and lumed hands. Does anyone know what the dial should say? Also I like the brown dial. It looks pretty accurate from the pictures. Do people agree? PAM 118 (Josh) - Looks like it has same great crown/CG combination. Has the more common PAM engraved plates on the movement with those infuriating bolts showing slightly on the bridge. Clearly "L Swiss L". It looks like the rep has a brown dial but slightly different brown from the 036 and I don't know if that is correct. Paneristi shows it with a brown dial. PAM 177H (Numerous dealers) - The bummer is that the crown appears too thin from the pics. Movement is the new CDG format. Black dial. Gentlemen, I'm only good for one. Which one? Thanks in advance.
  13. I got the version with Unitas movement and swan neck regulateur from AAAplus. Lisha is AAAplus and so is the watch. Veni and Aaron are making me a glossy dark brown croc to light up that gold. It really is one of my favorite gold reps. For you single guys, wear that one and you get a fair number of women looking at the watch first and then to your finger to see whether you already have a ring.
  14. Hey Finepics- I was waiting for someone to point this out. By the way, if archibald posts next we will have finally gotten the "watchmen" all together at the same time.
  15. Look at Trustytime. I believe he is selling for less than half.
  16. Welcome to RWG! You are asking about a copy of a vintage PAM. Here is the original: The rep looks fine. If you look at the picture above you will notice that it was originally a Rolex movement. I don't own one but thought the rep usually comes with the Russian Molijna movement which looks more like the original and the price would be substantially less.
  17. admin- Same problem as mounting 7753 in the 7750 196. You need a new dial as hole for the datewheel is larger and repositioned. Otherwise that would have happened long ago.
  18. I echo Quarks sentiments. In the long run, this is a must have - even with the crappy movement. I am holding off upgrading the movement in case it ever comes out in 7753. But I am increasingly skeptical that we will ever see it in 7753. On behalf of the membership, I do hope it becomes more widely available. I would be careful with the person claiming they can get it for $400 though. As I understand it, you would be getting it at or below cost from the factory. The best price I had ever heard of previously was $575-600 and none of those folks have delivered. I know. I am still waiting for that order.
  19. I am expecting my Ti Avenger back with Swiss movement, case refinishing and OEM dial back shortly. Guess who from?
  20. Moral of the story - always wear a good quality rep. Statikman - good luck on remembering.
