  1. Actually, I suspect he is up to new horological mischief and, of course, strippers as well.
  2. I am with Davidws on this one. Trying to buy Veni Strap was the final straw. And with all the analogies about reps and what he is doing, IMHO, people are losing the bigger picture. He and his forum have gone after and threatened folks on this forum and RWG. Get a clue. If you are buying from him, you are doing so for your own selfish reasons. Good luck to those who do!
  3. IMHO, you piece all the various factoids that are coming out and then have to stop kidding yourself. If you are buying from him, you are buying from a guy who ragged on reps and persecuted rep buyers on his web site to please that constituency, changed his tune when he realized that it was a bigger market selling on the rep forums, who threatened certain members here and then elected to hijack a guys first name to mislead buyers. It may be legal, but come on. I can think of better places to spend my money.
  4. Money orders mailed to the dealer have never looked so good.
  5. When it rains it pours. Prior to reading all I have read, I had had a good experience with him. Now I have no interest in doing business with him. And I buy reps.
  6. This will be taken up at the monthly meeting of the Watchmen. Seriously, we want to make sure that the cyclops is as good as we hope before deciding to move ahead with another order. But everyone should bear in mind that achieving the pricing offered on the first order would be dependent on the level of interest. These items are substantially more expensive when you don't hit certain minimums.
  7. I want a vacation too! ust kidding, of course. Enjoy the Summer. We will miss you're posts. It is going to be awfully quite here - at least as pertains to educational posts.
  8. My GMT's stand ready to be upgraded.
  9. As I have heard it, the minimums for this piece from the factory are large and its pricing is still very high. I am under the impression that the factory is now willing to sell to others (the exclusive is over). Something will have to give but I am hopeful that someone will step up and produce the 7753. I am doing my part.
  10. Bill- Thanks for the heads up. I hate to bring this up but does this mean we should be fearful about using pp with our dealers since this is where the hackers are apparently centering their efforts?
  11. Edge - So sorry for you're problems. All of our worst nightmare. Kudos to you for ensuring that you're customers are taken care of first. I hope you can find a way to get you're money back.
  12. Quarks- You are my hero. Out of your mind but still my hero. By the way, who was nice enough to lend you their gen? Ziggy- Unbelievable job. After I beg you for a slot in you're busy schedule mine will be on its way shortly thereafter. It is currently on loan but as soon as I get it back...
  13. Last month I took the family to St Barts. After schlepping the kids on two flights I ended up sitting in the French immigration office about to be turned away from entry. It turns out the French government, in retribution for what I am sure has been terrible treatment by the US of French citizens, changed their policy in January such that all children have to have passports as well. No one informed the travel agents though. I did get lucky as they saw that I was born in France (no longer a citizen though) and let me in. Three other families had been sent home that day though. But it was worth it. I saw 3 gen 187's and several Daytonas. Two on the wrists of fully naked women. Tomorrow to Vancouver. Santiago in 10 days. And, with a lot of luck, Australia next.
  14. Freedom is chaos. Sometimes choices have to be made. And banning someone who has participated in the persecution of rep collectors and threatened a member or two is fine with me. His being here struck me as the ultimate hypocrisy once I put two and two together. And yes, I had previously had a good transaction with him. So what.
  15. It guarantees you he is making additional mark-up. But he is still the only source. Unfortunately, the watch is very expensive at the factory level. Things like custom 5mm sapphire crystal with double AR coat and bezel markers with paired screws attaching them to the bezel allow the factory to charge a premium. The movement is a bummer. I do hope that someone makes a 7753 version. That would be well worth the price ETA charges and then some. And in spite of overpaying, there is no other watch I would rather have for under $1,000. And in spite of already owning the 7750 version I would instantly buy the 7753 version as well (as would virtually every other person I know that has the 7750 version). If you're wrist can take it, once you put it on it ain't coming off.
  16. I can't wait to see the H version. What is the likelihood they make one with the reversed engraving to fit in the 217 Destro? Just kidding, very unlikely.
  17. I assume the 7753 takes the same .9 stem. If I remember correctly, all automatics have the same .9 stem and all 6497's take 1.2. Given that I need 8 for automatics, can you please post pics of the 2.1 alongside the 2.0. My observation is that the 2.0 still has too much bevel versus the gens I posted earlier in this post. If the 2.1 has a bevel similar to the 2.2 it could be perfect. The other thing I am trying to figure out is why the fit of the 2.2 looks closer to the gen within the crown guard. Is this because the hole in the crown guard is larger on the rep than on the gen and so the larger crown compensates for it?
  18. Me too. On the 202 I would have trouble wearing a watch which says Slytech. As it is, I am glad no one figures out what Daylight refers to. Bad actor and bad movie. Adrian!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. At least he is trying. ETA (Ken) is the only known source so far for the 187. Comes with typical Asiam 7750 movement. I have had it for two months now and love it. The 194 would be awesome also as it is made of titanium in addition to not having the chrono. It would be the ultimate titanium PAM.
  20. James Bond doesn't have those problems.
  21. The one dubious honor I do have is traveling to three continents a week for a couple of months. Got me a million miles in short order on two airlines out of it though.
  22. Thank you Mr. Bytor. Wore the Red Sub today. Loving it.
