  1. I know.. that was the prototype in order to see how good and precise it can be engraved. The final design engraved on the caseback is this:
  2. Today I received a first sample engraved on a simple aluminium foil to see if I approve... The design is one of my first one much more complicated with the shark interlaping the helmet etc etc and still I believe it looks GREAT...
  3. I know.. rolli is a friend The same general observations purists do about the rep owners.. that they buy reps to be a somebody and pretend and that they are low-lifes who blah blah blah... Having the genuine watch doesn't have to automatically mean you want to show-off or boost your ego.
  4. Well that's funny rolf.... how come someone showing a collection of reps and straps of more than 7000$ is less 'ego' than someoen showing 1 gen that costs 3000$??? or someone who shows a franken daytona worth 4000$? The point of this thread was exactly that and you probably have missed it because you did what some of the Purists do. They judge without second thoughts We are not here because of the REPS only.. we are a community of people who just enjoy the 'brand'.
  5. I just have to say that my intention of this post was not in any way to intimidate members who do not and cannot afford a genuine Pam. I was one of those couple of years ago.. until I realised that my reps were worth MORE than a genuine 112 and I had to make a choice.. Couple of fully modded reps or one genuine? I replied a genuine I know that MANY members of the forum CAN afford a genuine Pam but the answer to the above question is the opposite than mine.
  6. so true mate... so true...
  7. I can make you a custom one if you like any of my leathers..
  8. For me Panerai will be always be simplicity... Base dial - Polished SS case and a tan aged strap to perfection
  9. I agree.. I also hate the PR indicator...
  10. Frank, Wempe is one of the very few ADs who could probably undertake that job.. Apart from that, the Panerai service wouldn't even think of milling a cg because they would have replaced it with a proper new one with no cost for them. (And yes it could have been months of waiting)
  11. I agree.. I would have never think of buying a GEN Pam without being to RWG and owning some reps first. NEVER. But trust me.. most of the Paneristi I know are great 'GREAT' guys.. They are those few elitist snobs that have more money than brains that scare the others and create a bad atmosphere about reps. Loving the brand is one thing. Showing off is another
  12. So we reached 20 members in less than one day... I am sure that at least 5 persons I know haven't replied and they are still more that I do not know of. What that means? Well basically that we are not here because we cannot afford the genuine watches. We are not 'cheapies' or pretenders... and that's probably what bothers most the 'purists', the elitist snobs of every brand. Because the people who are passionate about the brand do not care about oem and reps.. They love Panerai (or any other brand)
  13. If you can get one for 'next to nothing', I can pay you 'something' and get it off your hands
  14. From PSTI: Diamond-set models All the original production of diamond-set models are basically polished steel Luminor Base watches with diamonds slapped on them in an assortment of inappropriate places. The indications offered are simply hours and minutes. They all have black dials, and come with a variety of garish straps. For Christmas 2000 two further diamond-set models were released as well, a 40mm Luminor automatic, and a Radiomir. I'm not sure whether these count as special editions or not. Since then several more watches have been produced. I have never seen any of these watches in a catalogue, and the existence of many of them is only indicated by their presence on the 2001 price list. More diamond set watch references were added in 2002. Diamond set models are now only produced on demand, so I guess the millesimation is out of the window. You mean something like the PAM 030 of 1999?
  15. But then again it is really a head-scratching situation if you put this in the equasion.. 190 VS IWC Big Pilot
  16. Yeap Maikel.. I forgot about your 111. Yes E has the old style movement decoration (PANERAI PANERAI) and open caseback while A-D have solid casebacks and H-now have open casebacks with CDG decoration Yeap.. next is a rad.. Ideally the 190.. it will complete my 112 perfectly. But I don't have money and now expecting a child in 2 months it is almost impossible.
  17. Very nice max.. Simon is a great guy and he really takes good care of his watches so you got a good one Your MM is still the king of your collection though
  18. You don't want me to start counting DSN's 112 flaws do you? If you don't want to know though it is ok... Your 113 list on your other thread is close enough.. If you buy a Panerai because you want value for money and with no possibility of a rep get a 233 like tech said. Cost is like 111+005 together that you intend to give. On the other hand if you want to do what I did myself. I tried ALL the reps and bought the genuine of the watch I LOVED the most. Didn't cared about value for money or anything else. Just the watch I LOVED to have in my wrist the most. 2 years after and I still cannot take it off Unfortunately there is no perfect rep of a Pam. There are close ones (mostly automatics) but with a lot of pain and mods from any different parties that any dsn could put together.
  19. I know at least two members who had a gen 111 and sold it and bought the gen 112. Ask them which one they liked the best Base is the essence of Panerai. The clean dial and the symetric numbers and text is the ultimate simplicity in design. And the COSC is not that important. Mine is keeping cosc time even if it is a base and without the second hand and certificate
  20. No AD would do 'milling' of cg. They send the watch to service center in order to replace the cg (which is a 30$ cost for Panerai service). I have my 112 for almost 2 years as my daily beater and I have really abused it. I have scratched the case but the glas is still immaculate. I find scratching the glass very difficult unless you throw it from a balcony or something similar.
  21. Come on 112 owners... show your face. We are losing to the 111 seconds guys For now I will add my friend's Maikel's 112
  22. Today I wear my 112 with my old custom 'OEM cashmere' like strap.
