  1. Yes they are comparable.. Depends though on the angle you see the straps... Both have a very interesting texture to them.. If you are a burgundy/brown strap guy you should get one.
  2. I am wearing my 112 on this new/old strap.. Black XXLong with folded end. A bit thin (3,5mm) but very very comfortable. This was intended to go to an Angus divers buckle but didn't liked the look on my 112 and left with the strap which I modded a bit to fit normal buckle.
  3. I just finished a new strap from this hide... VLydog this one is yours
  4. It is.. and Mark's thread was an effort to try and make those guys discuss again about the watches and forget the 'lifestyle' posts.. In vain.. Only Mario Paci and Dirk replied after a long time of silence.... in the question of a replica guy.. How strange this is?
  5. I personally don't say it worths the obscene amount of 20.000$.. I wouldn't give more than 8.000$ for it and that's IF I liked it, BUT I do believe that its price will stay at this amount or rise. It will end up a great value in the Panerai range.
  6. Sorry Vic but that's more than silly
  7. I personally do not like the fiddy... but Simon it is almost certain that its price will continue to rise. Same with the 232 and 249... Limited editions and historic designs.. It is really a mystery to me why the 217 with the Marina Militare on the dial is not following the pattern..Probably because of the lefty factor..
  8. Thanks a lot.. Btw I got new supply of this hide if anyone is interested.
  9. Yes I ve seen it in the other thread.. and I am very tempted to send a nice pm to my friend MAC But really I don't know which one yet. Honey or yours...
  10. Thanks.. as they say in strapmaking (and in many other things in life) practise makes you better and better
  11. Vic, I've seen this photo before in the thread you are talking about but even me i cannot recognise many of the straps from this photo.. I can though find out some of them and i am very impressed with myself Bad vibes? I read what you said in the 'Strap are we done' thread but cannot find the link of the other thread judging you... Anyway.. I was quantity vs quality when i entered this hobby.. after some time you realise that as Ubi says quality is better than quantity
  12. A Christmas cd? Pffff.. Boooooring as Homer would have said. I opened the topic because I thought they were a nice new set of photos like the ones you posted some time ago btw.. thanks for the cd
  13. Thanks a lot my friend.. I know you are an exotic hide guy.. I am not.. I would love to have a nice Kwong elephant strap but since I can have beutiful straps with normal hides no need to feel guilty.. I am not a vegeterian but I do love animals a lot and simply since I can find nicer alternatives...
  14. Your strap has been dispatched yesterday.. I believe beginning of next week you will have it.
  15. Beautiful collection Simon... well done putting it together and of course glad I could help.

    203 and 028

Amazing photos indeed.... The guy who decided the Oem straps on the 203 must be executed. At least the fiddy strap was good and that's why someone put it on the middle one 203.
  17. Yeap... i decided not to sell it The old greek hide is the most appropriate for the buckle. True vintage feeling, smell and patina in the future. It will look wonderful in couple of weeks
  18. Amazing lume-job Rob... lucky owner
  19. Excellent post Rob.. thanks a lot for your time and effort to 'educate' us
  20. I am wearing today and for the next days the following... Need to wear the strap as much as I can
  21. Very interesting post Vic... Personally all my reps have tried at some point the warm waters of Med without any problem at all
