  1. Aw, c'mon Mick- Unwadd the panties out of your [censored] and relax a little. I am just a simple guy who pointed out that this thread was going on three pages and a whole lot of speculating was going on regarding a watch that no one has even seen, yet there were all ready people posting as if they had held the watch in their hands.. For cry'n out loud, cool your jets bro - I wasn't the one calling the watch "shitty" and basing my statements on pictures that, as it turns out, may not even be of the final watch that is YET TO COME OUT! You don't see the humour in all this? I do... Like I so politely asked in the beginning before we got of on this childish t!t for tat - Has anyone actually seen both the Gen and Rep? I didn't think so. Maybe we can reserve the comments like "the case colour is wrong, too dark, too shiny" and keep in mind we are talking about photo's that may be or may not be of the actual watch yet to come out until we see the watch. What's so frigg'n difficult to grasp about that? No need to go all jihad my friend. I am looking forward to seeing WHICH version of this watch comes out and for ME I will hold my opinions of whether this watch is "Shitty" or not until I see or speak to someone who has actually seen the watch in it's final form. Until then, like I said before, this thread can go on for 50 more pages, but it will all just be speculation...
  2. Agreed - but please don't patronize me with your pathetic attempt to cover up weak sarcasm & hostility as empathy - really...
  3. Touche' - didn't click the link... Now that we have established that you have held the Gen I guess we can also establish you have not held the Rep. Oh well - like I said, I will reserve my judgement about a watch that has yet to come out until the watch ACTUALLY COMES OUT! Good luck with all the guessing though... Still doesn't change the fact that you are just speculating from pictures of a watch that has not come out yet. Oh, and get some help with the hostility - it really isn't becoming of a "doc"
  4. Who's getting worked up? Not sure how pointing out the fact that this thread is well on its way to a three + and not only has no one seen the watch IN PERSON, but the speculation on the finish is being based on PICTURES, Not sure how you can draw any reasonable conclusion that there is "no guess work involved" when we all know how poorly pictures represent the genuine article. I actually find it quite amusing and entertaining that before a watch is even released (and with what we know from previous experiences with "factory photos" being way off) people are trying to draw absolutes on the quality/color/finish of a watch. Re-read the thread bud - sorry the facts are ruffling your feathers... I give level headed people like andrew credit for posts like this: Instead of speculation from a picture that result in posts like this: And you are acusing me of getting worked up? You might want to go back and read what you are posting bro. and we haven't even got into the reality of wether you have even seen the Genuine in person yet... For me it is simple and unemotional - Have you held the Gen? Have you held the Rep? Based on the above, I take the opinion for what it is worth...
  5. As usuall - the speculation in this thread is classic of what happens when a new watch is coming out. Pics pop up - people "critique" the watch based on the PHOTOS - and then the watch comes out and it is NOTHING like the first pictures... and as usuall - I will wait untill someone who has ACTUALLY HELD BOTH THE GEN AND REP in there hands to chime in untill I conclude that the Rep is good or not... Untill then, it is just a guess -- that is as good as anyone elses -- when it comes to the quality of a watch that no one has even seen!
  6. Carlsbadrollie - You are quickly becoming the "Mad Scientist" of Reps. MU AH HA HA HA - IT'S ALIVE!!!!! Why do you torture yourself with these "projects'?
  7. Doc - Are you speaking from experience in having held the Rep & the Gen - or are you just referencing your opinion based on the posted pictures? Sure would like to hear from someone who has actually held the Rep and the Gen... windyzz - I have seen both the Gen SS Skylander and Black Steel Skylander in person. I have also held the Rep SS v2 Skylander. I have to say - the v2 rep is one hell of a Rep. The case and bracelet finish really does rival that of the Gen. I have a Gen Old Navatimer and have always been impressed with Breitlings ability to polish SS in a way that looks too perfect to be real. The Rep finish is unbelievably close to the Gen. One thing that impressed me most about the Rep is how smooth the chrono pushers activated and how stable the crown was. My Rep ti Avenger is horrible in this area and the Skylander is much closer to the Gen in feel, although not perfect by any means. The crown stem is still a little wobbly and the bezel is not as smooth as the Gen either, but has come a long way from my rep ti Avenger. I too am giving a slight nod to the SS version because of the excellent finish on the SS bracelet, although the Black Steel version is tempting. They really are two totally different watches, however, in appearance.. I guess the solution is to buy both!
  8. Yeah - but it has to be the truth... After all, who are you going to trust if you can't trust a supplier of ILLEGAL goods to tell you the truth- ha, ha. ha. ha ha. ha, ha....
  9. OK - Why don't you just come out and say it - you want me to buy you a beer too?
  10. Hey Carlsbad - Rode it out from the fifteenth floor down town LA. Our building is on rollers and boy did it roll... Bulldog - I drive through Irvine on the way home form LA. I will be around Irvine anytime after 4PM - I 'd like to buy you a beer. PM me with your cell # if we can get together.
  11. Thanks once again for the 7750 Joe. The AP is still running strong. Also, you have to post one or two every once in a while just so that I can see your avatar pop up - I swear she is talking to me Anyways - Good luck!
  12. Something can be said for using the right tools... If you are going to press your crystal - use a good crystal press - or you will end up with this: I learned the hard way.
  13. Thanks for everything Lani - I have a crystal on the way for my watch - Angus came through once again!
  14. This is classic RobbieG - posting long rambling posts in an effort to raise his credibility and making statements with the intent to sound like he knows what he is talking about. As soon as he gets called out he starts with the "Fine I'll take my ball and go somehwere else" BS - Next will come the stories of 7 figure incomes, exotic cars, "friends" with million dollar watch colections etc - Really... Why are you peddaling this BS? You really didn't think people here were going to buy the overinflated view you have of yourself did you?
  15. RobbieG is the master of repeating what he "heard" The truth is I doubt he owns more than one Rep. All he does is read the boards and repeat hearsay with no real first hand knowledge. I have read what he has been posting about Josh and Andrew and I can say with authority he is guessing and in most instances is dead wrong. Take it for what it is worth... Oh yeah - JETMID LIVES!!!!!
  16. +1 Yeah, you really beat up on that old tall black man! Showed him did you! How old are you? 16... For Christ's sake man - Didn't your parents ever teach you any manners? Reminds me of this world famous post: davebs wrote: Oh yeah? Well I know Muai Tai, Brazillian Ju Jitzu, and a little thing I like to call "i nailed your mom". I'm so bad ass, there isn't one little kid in any of my karate classes that even wants to spar with me cause i UNLEASH THE FURY! Yeah I've got a small penis and nobody likes me, but I drive a porsche worth more than your LIFE so f**k you! Like the other day, I was walking down the street and this little old lady told me she liked my watch, so I said, "What f**k you! It's not fake!" So I went into karate mode and SCISSOR KICKED HER IN THE FACE! *WHAM BAM* Then I pulled her up by her hair but her wig came off, turns out she was bald! *GROSS* [censored]ing old people. Then I picked her up by the ears and kneed her in the face muai tai style! *BLADOW* And I was like "That's what you get for walking so slow b**ch! AND THERE'S NO WAY YOU COULD KNOW MY WATCH IS FAKE, CAUSE IT'S NOT, IT'S A MODDED MBW SUPER DUPER ULTIMATE SUB, AND IT'S REAL! REAL I SAY! IT USES THE SAME MOVEMENT MOST REAL WATCHES DO ANYWAY, IT'S SWISS ETA, IT'S A DIVISION OF SWATCH, PLUS I BOUGHT IT FOR A GOOD VALUE, NOT CAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD A REAL ONE CAUSE I SPENT ALL MY MONEY ON KARATE CLASSES, SO f**k YOU! OH, AND I DRIVE A PORSCHE WORTH MORE THAN YOUR GRANDCHILDREN!" *KAZAAM* Yeah, I showed her what's what. That's the last time she'll be calling me out on my watch. But I gtg, I'm late for yoga class WHERE I PICK UP CHICKS LIKE YOUR MOM! AMERICA!!! f**k YEAH!!!
  17. Ah.... The old I heard from someone... (reliable of course) Chad- My "friend" you are absolutely one clueless person. You don't know me and you clearly don't know Josh. One of the reasons Joshua has been a good friend to me over the years is the things we discuss, both personal and business, never make it on to the open board - but if you had been around 1/10 the time I have, you might have figured that one out for yourself before you posted such an ignorant statement. Sorry Bro - stay around for a while and you might be able to figure it out for yourself instead of the old "I heard from many reliable sources". Very astute observation... More than most will EVER know...
  18. Anybody who has been around for any length of time knows the "Cartel" is no joke. I have been buying watches from Josh and Andrew for the past six years. I consider Josh a friend and he still is - BUT we have always had an agreement - business is business. As far as I am concerned - kudos to RWI - Josh and Andrew made a "business" move and this time it went too far. In the end, I have no doubt it will all work itself out and we (the customer) will be better for it. I have been privy to some of the "behind the scenes" stuff and trust me - RWI did the right thing and time will vet this out.
  19. OK - Here I go giving advice I should listen to myself... Carlsbad and Doc have good approaches - getting the insert out with out removing the entire bezel assembly. I can tell you from experience, going in between the insert and the crystal with an Xacto knife is dicey - so be careful. I have also read of people simply using some WD40 and in some instances a little heat from a hair dryer to loosen the tape on the back side of the insert, allowing the insert to loosen and be removed much easier. Again, as one who has bent a bezel into the shape of a banana trying to remove it, like Carlsbad said- if it doesn't budge using the traditional methods - STOP - it ain't coming off. Now for the sure proof method. Remove the movement, dial and hands all as one (this will not disturb the movement as this is all one piece). Next, push the crystal out of the case from the backside (you can usually accomplish this with two well placed thumbs) Now you you have the inner lip on the backside of the insert exposed. Being careful not to bend the insert (again, I know this from experience) push as evenly as possible on the backside of the insert and it will come out. Just be careful not to pry too much on any one specific point as the insert needs to be dislodged evenly in order to keep from bending it. That should do it.
  20. freddy - I am in for the Lani/Chief Ar cyclops and was wondering... Would the crystals Lani is taking the cyclops off of work as a possible replacement? I am not familiar with the different sized crystals that are same for different Rolex models, but one thing that concerns me, other than the obvious crystal dimensions, is the bevel on the crystal. Is the datejust crystal that you listed the same as a GMT?
  21. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. Well - I knew better... Two of my friends had the new GMT II ceramic with the uneven crystal - low on the 9 O'clock side and so did I. They fixed theirs by pressing the crystal "as is" and were able to make it level. I told them (being the ever so cautious one) that the correct way to do it was to remove the crystal, check the gasket for slippage and then reassemble the crystal to press it on "correctly" After reading a few more successful reports here on RWG of people pressing their crystals straight I decided to go against my own advice and press away... This is the before: This is the after: I set the press up to apply more pressure on the high side (3 O'clock side) and I am sure this is what caused it (uneven pressure on the crystal) All I can say if you don't take the crystal out and repress it evenly is - DO YOU FEEL LUCKY? And I knew it was bound to happen- God, I am a moron some time...
  23. Good points in this thread. For what it is worth I have quite a few Gens and was on the Gen sites long before I came to the Rep sites. I NEVER talk about my Reps to the Gen crowd untill I meet the individual and "feel" him/her out personally. I do not do this out of embarrassment, but respect. On the other hand, quite a few Gen collectors I have met have a secret interest in the "good" Reps and are blown away when they see one - of course they (Gen collectors) don't talk openly about Reps in any accepting way to their Gen collecting buddies and that is just the way it is. I beleive it shows a huge lack of comon sense to go on any of the Gen sites and bring attention to the "Rep World" Just plain stupid on so many levels...
  24. Lani - Once you settle on the price - just let me know and I will pay whomever you designate. You can count on me for one. Thanks again...
  25. Still in. Keep us posted... Mahalo
