  1. Yep, I used to be exclusively a dog person but Lucy came along at a time in my life shortly after I'd gotten out of a 9 year live in relationship and my head was reeling, my friends thought I needed some distraction and there was this 2 month old furry foundling on someone's back porch.

I reluctantly went to see her, she ran into the living room with lots of moxie and attitude and I fell for her instantly. She got me through some tough times, I tell you.

She's been with me for 16 years and absolutely adores my GF. We're quite the happy family.

  2. Sounds to me like maybe he was proud of this heavy piece he picked up someplace in Jersey, he's mentioning he needs to have the thing sized..maybe to draw attention to it, and by pointing out a flaw - the chrono doesn't re-set poperly, possibly that made him feel a bit bad and embarrassed.

    Just arm chair psychoanalyzing :)

  3. Update: BAH! I got 3 screws to budge and moved the fine tuning inside the clasp to the last hole, the bracelet is still a bit big & the clasp is not centered, so.....

    Shopping Time!

I've never bought NATO straps before, can anyone recommend a good source please?

I'd like to get the classic Bond black/gray and then mebbe something a bit more exuberant, such as regimental stripes?

    Thanks much.

  4. I just came across this thread, I've bought 3 watches from Tony at cqout - a black/RG Big Bang which looks cheap but is fun to wear, an AP ROO black/SS and a PO chrono which are both superb fit & finish for the money. With shipping each watch averaged $85, can't beat that quality/price ratio.

I decided to try Tony because of his excellent feedback on cqout, and I'm glad I took a chance and tried someone outside of our dealers group. Really too bad about cqout banning certain manufactures, it was fun while it lasted.

Italiano, would you mind PMing me Tony's website please?

  5. Thanks for the reply, 2005.

The thing with the link is, there are 2 fixed posts jutting out one end of the link and the other pieces of the link mount onto these posts to make up the 3 part link.

I'm just trying to figure out what holds the permanent links together in a typical oyster bracelet, this is totally weird.

I've only had the watch for about 2 months, haven't even worn it that much, and been quite careful with it.

This bracelet is a bit different than standard oyster, it has the high polish center links, so swapping out isn't an option I'm afraid.

  6. Hi guys, I need your help please.

I put on my Rolly 50th An GMT this morning and, much to my chagrin, the bracelet came apart - at the point where the first flexible link meets the fixed end link against the case.

I'm looking at it and the pins that hold the link together are smooth, I don't see any friction points that would allow one to put the link back together and stay together. How do permanent bracelet links stay together?

I did put everything back together and squezeed the link sides but as soon as I flexed the bracelet the link fell apart again :angry2:

What should I do? Use a bit of blue Loc Tite before assembling? I'm not sure if that would work, or maybe it would prevent the link from pivoting to conform to my wrist?

In advance, thanks much for your help and advice.
