    PAM 050

Beautiful watch - I'm considering getting, it perfect for my skinny wrist. I must ask though, can this version of the 7750 cause problems? Thanks!
  2. Sorry to hear of your frustration, Zig. It sounds terrible, and thanks for letting us know about this. Well, so much for my desire for a Daytona.
  3. The only Pam I've ever wanted, I don't have any. But I don't care for the asian 7750, so I stay away. Enjoy it, it's gorgeous.
  4. You could buy a nice black strap with white topstitiching, then get a permanent Sharpie orange marker and dye the topstitching orange.
  5. Thanks much for your comments - I'm only interested in the 42mm as the 45 is just too big for me. So I am reasurred, thanks! Again, good for you having such skills.
  6. Just when I was getting ready to order the 42mm PO from Andrew - this situation crops up. It seems like a recent development, too. I don't remember people mentioning the fog and rust a few weeks ago. I'n mot sure what to do right now. @r11co - I give you a lot of cedit for taking this in stride, it seems you are very handy with the watch repairs. If it happened to me, I'd be SOL, have to depend completely on Andrew to make it right.
  7. Nice thread. AMK congrats, you are getting exactly what you want (how often does that happen?)
  8. Slay, I don't remember exactly what Sean said about the quartz movement, but he said it was swiss and expensive. Now that I remember, I think PreciousTime had the same one & wanted about $250 for it, so some of our dealers can get it but it's not gonna sell for less than $250. Any I agree with you about the movement, at least this one should work perfectly and last a long time. so $250 isn't so bad.
  9. She's a very special little girl, Joe. Thanks for sharing this with us.
  10. In February I saw this watch in Sean (etaswiss.net) website. I was very excited about it, I have a real thing for gold/black combo and there very few reps like that. So I contacted Sean, thinking "how much can this possibly cost, I know it's not a 7750 chrono, this should not cost more than $120-150". Sean gets back to me and says the cost is $260, for a quartz!!! So I give him a counter offer of $160, telling him other dealers sell SS quartz driven chronos for $120, I'm giving him $60 extra for the gold, I really want this watch. He tells me he just can't do it for this price, his cost was too high, apparently this watch watch has swiss eta quartz movement. He also said his customers have complained about the high cost of this watch, I'm sure he's not selling many of these. It is a smaller piece - the case size is about 37.5mm, very, very elegant watch. I may have to re-visit thge desire for this one.
  11. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the Legend of Nanuq the Annihalator came into being. Try this some time, take your favorite rep, cup it gently in your hand, and whisper "Nanuq!" to it. You will see your watch start to tremble and shake, and it will probably seize up on you. Or, if your rep is misbehaving, you know, the usual baloney - doesn't hold a power reserve, crown comes off, markers mis-aligned, tell it you are going to send it to Nanuq if it doesn't start to behave.
  12. That's very cool. More details please - was it gold, steel, what color dial?
  13. Paging RBJ - he has a friend who can cast steel parts, I believe. And, Joe loves Audemars RO.
  14. Thanks for reply. I think those are light boxes used for viewing slides, or for tracing pictures. No matter, what I'm most impressed with is the quality of the color (so rich!) and detail in your pix. I'm now convinced that fluorescent lighting is the way to go, I'm using regular light bulbs in swan neck desk lamps for my mini studio set up and I think the color of the pics comes out looking kinda muddy and dead.
  15. So Mrs. Nanuq gets a vintage too! Lucky girl. Sounds very cool, please post pix when you get it.
  16. Really, really nice pix. Those light you bought - those are light boxes to view slides, right?
  17. Welcome back Dave. Your wit, intelligence and exceptional common sene has been sorely missed.
  18. Loctite blue only
  19. Plated gold, yes of course, solid are almost non existent. I e-mailed her, now that i'm looking at her pix again, I do believe this is the Tt version, just introduced at Basel. That would make sense, who in their right mind would affix a black/gold bezel to an all SS watch, I'm a bit embarrased for even thinking such a thing. I can just make out a difference in the color of the metals used in the bracelet, and it looks like Tt. Shows you what poor lighting does to product photography.
  20. OK, I think I'm figuring this out. The upper pix have a watery gold cast to the metal, but the bottom pix showing bracelet details are definately all SS, shwoing a different watch I think. I'm gonna send her an e-mail abot this and report what I find out. You guys like this watch?
  21. Thanks for the replies so far guys, but, I'm still wondering. If King's watch has any gold she says so, but not here. So one is to assume it is SS. Take a good look at the pix, to me it seems the watch is all SS except for a black/gold bezel. Crazy, no?
  22. Hi, everyone, hope you are having a good day. I'm thinking of acquiring a GMT Master and I was browsing King's site where I came across this "updated" (her description) 50th An GMT Master, please click for link: http://www.kingshowbox.com/ROLEX-262.htm Can someone tell me what's up with this watch? As far as I can tell it looks like it's all SS except for the gold and black bezel? That can't be, can it? I like this watch but, sheesh. I know her english is not very strong so I'm hoping to avoid having to contact her and ask her directly. Thanks very much!
  23. Whew, Neil, for a minute you had me concerned. Now you have to go buy the Birkenstock sandals and sign up for Pilates classes - mandatory for us Mac heads. Seriously - for digital photo manipulation and graphics layout, you will LOVE it. The Mac hasn't been the de facto standard in most ad agencies and SFX studios for the last 20 years for 'nuthin. Have fun!
  24. Very nice, Dani. Did you get this from Watchhonpo?
  25. Nice, which dealer did you get it from? Thanks!
