  1. Let me jump in here and mention my personal peeve aabout the 42mm ETA PO. If you want it on rubber strap, the strap will not fit well. The genuine has 2 sets of lug holes drilled - one set for steel bracelet and one for rubber strap. The current PO does not, so when you put on the rubber strap there is a good 1mm gap between the strap ends and the side of the case. Also, there are these spacer pins that stick out frorm the middle of the strap ends, in the genuine there are small holes drilled into the side of the case that these spacer pins fit into, I gues to stabilize the rubbr strap. The rep PO does not have these holes, and consequently the pins keep the gap good and wide, and scratch the sides of the case. I've spoken to Andrew about this a few times, and so far no progress to correct this issue. I sold my beautiful PO to a friend who wears it with bracelet, I could not live with the rubber strap fitting this badly.
  2. A new GMT movement coming out, very interesting. I'm interested in adding a nice GMT Master to my collection. I just wonder if this new movement will be worth waiting for, if it will have problems, it seems that the more complicated a rep movement is, the higher the probability for breakdowns. When you think about it, a GMT movement is being asked to do some complex things.
  3. Ah-HA! So there is a way to get those WH reps after all, the power of money.
  4. Thanks Chronus! Limited selection though, I assume they can procure other watches shown on Watchonpo Japanese site?
  5. Congrats on the fine watch, and I must ask - Honpo is now shipping outside of Japan?
  6. Thanks, Gunnar! Now I want the 36mm RO even more. So, anyone have a recommendation for a dealer please?
  7. Yes, I hope the PO is perfected, I have an issue with the fit of the rubber strap. After you put it on, there is a big gap between the strap ends and the watch case. Also, there are these weird spacer pins sticking out of the strap ends that rest against the side of the case, are clearly visible when you wear the watch, it looks pretty bad. I'm not sure but, I think the genuine has these spacer pins and they are supposed to recede into a hole drilled into the side of the case, my 42mm ETA PO did not have these holes. I could not wear the watch this way, I sold it to a friend who preferred the steel bracelet. Shame, the watch looks so sharp on a black rubber strap.
  8. Yes I had absolutely no intention of even considering it, I'm on a quest for a 36mm case AP RO, I just keep seeing these terrible versions along the way, and theya re being touted as the new improved ones, blech!
  9. Yeah thanks for agreeing with me Randy. It's really frustrsting when you finally decide what your nest rep will be and in your shopping research you come across garbage like this. Sorry but that's what it is. And it's amazing that a bunch of our dealers are offering this.
  10. So I've decided my next rep will be an AP RO - 36mm case, blue dial, so far tough to find. I've been looking around the dealers photo albums and seeing a new version of the Jumbo, and am not liking what I see. It appears that the new ones have a very wide bezel, and I think it looks really bad. Has anyone else noticed this? As long as I'm at it, can anyone recommend a nice 36mm AP RO with blue dial? Thanks much.
  11. That is a very nice watch, BOB. Can you tell me where I can get this for a good price, Steinhart website wants $525 USD for it. I can't find any on eBay. Thanks very much.
  12. It's missing the 4th red hand.
  13. I was wondering if anyone knows of a source for short leather straps (20mm wide) to fit a 6.5" wrist? I am looking for a few nice croc straps to upgrade some of my reps, after all, we know what a nice strap can do for a watch. I've been looking at some of the better known strap dealers but not many sell short length straps, not easy to find I'm afraid. Thanks very much!
  14. Excellent review, Toni, and thank you very much. So you bought the Daytona with leather strap recently, Eddie Lee has this?
  15. I badly want a 42mm PO orange bezel, but with black rubber strap. Unfortunately the replica rubber strap that is included with the watch fits horribly, there is a huge gap and weird spacer pins sticking out of the strap ends that emphasize the gap and scratch the sides of the case. I wish that problem would be solved already.
  16. Well the VC 250th Anniversary rep that probably has this same quartz movement is going for $275 from Sean.
  17. You know, now that I remember, I read somewhere on the forums that Paul sold his business and is no longer affiliated with aspire.
  18. Blackstone Merlot - best California Merlot under $15, and Kendall Jackson Chardonnay.
  19. Welcome back Paul! It's good to have you back.
  20. Great pix, thanks! Well this should resolve the logo positioning question for both the 42 and 45 mm size. Dealers please take note!
  21. A long time ago, a dealer (I think it was Eddie) posted pix of a gold PN Daytona, Eddie said this rep was possibly going to be produced but nothing materialized. It was a stunning piece.
  22. I wish the rubber strap fit problem on the 42mm ETA PO would get corrected.
  23. Wow, that's great. I'm off talk to Joshua about a GMT Master.
  24. May I ask, what does the service part entail? Thanks!
