Discussion topic: Have we seen the end of high quality reps?
EuroTimez replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
THis is partly true, as I your supplier sometimes cannot be trusted or doesn't care, so there you must double check. But like I said it is partly true as many really know better but pretend not to know and hide behind the manufacture. Just think about it, some know all the availablity of the 3 movements that I mentioned, some are so close to the factory that they Should know what's going on. If I can know this and I'm just a small dealer, what does that mean? Besides as many ppl don't know the difference or wouldn't openly complain if they did find out, therefor it is much more profitable to sell copy movement, if every now and then it does pop up on the publicily ---then they can always say....oh so sorry it was the manufacturer--- nobody else complaint so it must be an isolated case ---we will refund you or give you a new original ETA movement ---which is a minor loss in comparison to the profit gained from the difference between new ETA and copy. If I pay 75 usd more I know my supplier wont give me a lesser quality coz if I found out and my supplier knows I always double check he's gonna get a big skolding. And I would send all the stuff back to him and then he gonna be stuck with it. Besides that my assosiate who is local from guangzhou and has face to face contact with my supplier, after the order is finished brings them all to my watchmaker to have them checked (screws, glass, bezel, crown, date etc etc) + silicon greased + waterproof tested till 50m before shipment. Every single piece will be opened!!! No white lies, see some of my reviews some testify that it was clearly greased. When these copy-movements were pretty new on the market, my supplier gave me copy-movement instead of the real deal (which he said was the factories fault as I quickly discovered it after double check) so he refunded me all the money (sign of honesty) for it and was stuck with 30 pieces which he took as loss. He now really makes sure that the factory gives him the real deal and gave me 3 options --1.copy, 2. second hand 3. new real ETA stuff. I wasn't sure if he was telling the truth or was trying to pass on the copy in the hope that I wouldn't notice. But I like to give him the benefit of the doubt as I know him personally for I think for almost 2 years. He always delivers what I ask him, but his QC is very bad to none-existant so I always have to get them double checked nonetheless. Rg chris -
Discussion topic: Have we seen the end of high quality reps?
EuroTimez replied to RWG Technical's topic in General Discussion
I can help you guy to give you reason why this is all happening. Like I stated before since I'm a dealer I know somewhat what is going on in REPLAND. You can get 3 types of ETA movement. 1. Copy ETA (which is in many many different verriables, fully engraved) 2. Second hand genuine ETA (genuine mixed part with asian copy parts, recycled from old stock movements, and all kind of things) 3. Genuine New ETA I think I can give some inside information. To give you a price estm. Just for the record all of my watches I sell is nr 3 if from china or thailand. MBK I only offer it as it comes with ETA according to MBK. But in China I order the same Rolex submariner / Planet Ocean / any other rep model powered ETA 2836-2 movements in 3 versions (like above 1.copy, 2. second hand ETA etc) NR 3 for instance I sell a rolex submariner with this movement at 280 usd. NR 2 = 40-50 usd cheaper NR 1 = 65-75 usd cheaper The copy is very good most ppl can't tell with the naked eye, some come with DM engraved and some with serialnr's etc I've seen so many of them. It even feels like a genuine ETA, and parts are interchangeable (not 100% sure but one of my watchmaker said that most parts will fit but I think The Zigmeister is the expert on this one) This is the facts, I have high reason to believe that many dealers sell 1, 2 to keep prices down. Just think for yourself the prices has increased dramatically for ETA movements but we haven't seen a dramatic increase in dealers prices?! As everybody want to get it as cheap as possible but many are not willing to pay the higher prices for the real deal so therefore sometimes you get what you pay for -- a copy movement with a lable genuine swiss ETA 2836-2--. I litterally pay 70 usd more than for a copy movement that looks, feels the same but doesn't hold the same quality!! Also important thing to note is that if a dealer cannot garantee how the outside looks when it arrives (as we see many crooked markers etc) at your door then how can you garantee the inside? I was actually gonna post this before The Zigmeister mentioned it, actually i did mention it somewhere in one of my post about the 3 different "so called ETA movements". I also mentioned this to some of my customers. Quality comes first. -
To make it more accurate, I didn't sold any piece on the FORUM since I started as a dealer yet!

Hi, I just woke up after a late Thai newyear party. I updated my own post on the 14k issue as what the ppl are saying is true. I HAVEN'T, AGAIN I HAVEN'T CONFIRMED IT to BE 14k, Read all my old post and read my updated one. I didnt sold any single piece yet! In any other case I have to base my price on what I buy them for!! Like I said I can only give my word on my experience and what you guys can see from the tests. Please read here for update, and I will update my claims and remove 14k so that it's less confusing on my other post as well. I just know that it doesn't fade and "looks" pretty solid as the first few test show. I also said more test are to come... And also look in this thread for the pics of the so called "14k wrapped" gold vs my so called "??k solid gold" TT straps. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=70871

I know that there is some sort healthy skeptism, and that is rightfully so... AT times it hard to take your word from the supplier, I'm working out to get one link acid tested and I think somebody offered me as well, I gotta reply to his PM. I def want to make sure IT IS what I CLAIM it is, as it is my name on the line. But do consider this that it is not just "talk" but I've been wearing my personal watch (I own two-tones) for almost 2 years, I polished it now 4 times (polished it like 3 days ago again) and still in topnotch condition NO SIGN OF WEAR OR TEAR whatsoever. Please check out my original feed where you can see the difference between SOLID 14k and WRAPPED 14k which wears and fades.... For me I'm totally fine with the Idea that it's 14k Gold, but my main concern is that it doesn't wear or fade. MBK said also that the gold on their watches Rolex TT was Garanteed---that it would never fade or wear-----?! But you have to take this at face value...... AS THIS I CANNOT SAY FROM EXPERIENCE. WHAT I DO CAN SAY IS that I've been selling these pieces for almost 2 years (even before I decided to own one myself) and never has any piece ever been brought back because the Gold faded!! My personal piece used to be my dailer beater, and I regulary swim in the beach and pool with it (AS I LIVE ON A TROPICAL ISLAND) even the bezel still looks as new (but the older bezel were heavier plated then the newer ones tho). Kind regards Chris

Hi guys. EDIT- PLEASE READ post #21 ---- for update. EDIT CLOSE FINAL RESULT PROFESSIONAL GOLD TESTING CENTER ---See post 27--- I finally did some test, more to come + videos. Let the pics speak for itself. Read original status update of the TT NOOB 14k solid GOLD HERE and pics of my TT-NOOB- or read BY-TOR REVIEW 16613 review here. I also made a complete video of this event. For all interested please send an e-mail to info.eurotimez@gmail.com Test are totally unedited, except for cropping and prepared for webready with my logo (so nobody will abuse it). so you can see it from a close up. No photoshop anything else used. Oh I also quoted too high estimation 650 usd in my thread (as i work with 4 different currencies, thai baht, chinese rmb, euro, usd) it is only about 550-620 incl shipping depending + full inspection if I can make a good deal with my supplier. SHIPMENTS CAN BE MADE FROM WITHIN !!!!EU!!!! FULL INSPECTION INCLUDE -Bezel constructions/rotation (and if the glued on properly) -Pearl (if its acceptable as at times you really have misshaped ugly pearls) -Glass / date-window (at times the magnifying glass on the saphire isn't straight over the date so the glass needs to be removed/turned/reinstalled) -All screws will be checked (at times some screws cannot be un-screwed and brakes within the bracelet or impossible to remove) -Clasp (open/closes correctly) -Crown (if the crown is lubricated enough, at times when pulling it out, it will jump to the 2nd position -date change- instead of the 1st -handwind- also at times the crown won't go smoothly in or out, etc) -Overal quality/build. -All gaskets and rubbers will be oiled for water-resistant!!! High QC http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?act=fi...&pid=438734 ALL E-MAILS TO INFO.EUROTIMEZ@GMAIL.COM ( I dont respond rapidly on PMs so please don't send me any ) VIDEO's I WILL WORK ON and UPLOAD WITHIN A FEW DAYS.

This issue is actually not really uncommen, it happens and I've seen it alot. I therefore test my watches prior to shipment, and if it's in like 1-3 minute ratio before/after 24.00, I leave it. If it is 4-5min or more I find it too fugly and get the hands taken out and put back in. Also a very common problem is that the MAG on the rollies rep are at times misalligned this too needs to get checked on a watch per watch basis. QC is everything. Oh about the MBK watches, they also have to be checked just like any other rep, I have one sitting here, by closer inspection and after keeping the time (which I don't do for every watch btw but this one is just massively expensive 800$ selling price) it is the APROO with Hornback strap (real hornback MBK charge sooo much but its damn beautiful) it didn't keep good time like 2-3 hours too fast in a day. Then by even closer inspection there was a small hair-like object inside the dail.... damn! Customer would kill me if I send something like that, besides all the time and risk, money lost in the process to send a replacement / repair.
-
The above one from DemonSlayer is mine. I've already been in contact with Remesh, and actually I have no idea how it could happen, strange really as I made sure that I checked it more than double after the DW-swap and right before shipment. I believe it could be a transport issue perhaps? Anyways Remesh, I take full responsibility to this case and have informed Remesh as well (been buried a bit with e-mails) will get a new one shipped from EU asap as a replacement. Once again sorry for the inconvience Remesh. I truly did all the QC before shipment, but you mentioned that already to me. Don't worry about the DW, I get you a brandnew one. Rg Chris

New Noobfish / SFSO (Arrow Head) Review With Pics
EuroTimez replied to Flashman's topic in The Breitling Area
Hi Andy, It looks like on the white one you posted (2nd pic) at 9 oclock appears to be a HE valve, if you look very carefully?! it is slightly sticking out... @ Tommy B your Seconds hand appears to be damaged!!! Check it out, I taught TTK did QC. Regards Chris -
Ohh wait, that is pretty darn nasty, I just looked at the pic, and I taught you were talking about something very very very minor, but that is kinda of a ugly flaw IMHO.

The best is not too have any expectations/pickyness then you can never be disappointent

I'll keep you updated, about the cars, girls, and watches ..... duh. -
Hi, Got my tickets ready going to BKK tomorrow, so won't be online for a while. Business and pleasure, meet up with some friends go to a few clubs (bkk has great night-life), see car-expo (got 6 free tickets just today.....coincidence?!) Gonna go to MBK, so if any have serious request you can send me an e-mail to Eurotimez@gmail.com -Put in subject = REQUEST MBK Also gonna see one of the biggest (if not the biggest, supplier in BKK the same one who provides me with Noobfactory watches etc). These pictures are taken from our actual watches (not factory pictures) but of watches that I offer! There all are inspected, you can see the whole series of pictures on Photobucket link below. For all interested to see a very few of my watches can take a look here... http://s303.photobucket.com/albums/nn154/eurotimez/

How about this one ;D

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I think Ken is right and some other ppl adviced me as well. The CG is just for me own fun, prob won't be offering it coz its kind a tricky business. @ Edwin, I dont wanna spend hours doing something that can be done in minutes Yes, I'm from Netherland too, but I'm not exactly around the corner... How about the the bezel inserts, that one seems pretty safe to offer right? Like ken & shundi said, I have enough on my hands just being a collector let alone be a full-time modder. I wasn't exactly planning on doing it myself, as I'm far too busy. But I wanted to experience it, and if I know how to do it, I can recruit my watchmaker (which is far more skilled) to let him do it. Problem with providing top quality service = that most ppl don't want to make it pay, but at the same time are complaining when they get a dropshipped/rusted/screwed watch. Because providing a top quality service demands alot of time / energy / resources and also cost money. When Ppl work for me, I consider them assets and I treat them as such, meaning I give them a very fair share/payment, and I also give alittle extra when they do very good jobs, I could of course pay them the bare minimum and treat them like labours just to offer "cheap services to my customers" but that is not my style. Anyways, any comments on my first timer? ---is it done well or so-so, or plain louzy, give it to me, I'm a big boy

bought a new toy, yesterday, ----BLACK AND DeCKER----DREMEL Fine machine goes up to 15.000 rmp. Went practising on modding some "cheap bezels" for practise, filling them down, etc. That went pretty smooth, then I went to do a CG mod. Got an old and rusted Submariner Rolex case "swiss eta 2836-2" from 2-3 years ago. Also practised some polishing, wow went so fast! Practised on old one, like theirs a saying in dutch ----op een oude fiets moet je het leren--- translated (may not sound so funny) " on a old bike you must learn (how to bicycle) " they also use this saying in regards to women (when men talk with each other, commenting on some women) hahah Dutchies. So soon must try it on some expensive bezel inserts so I can install it for my future watches for sale -pre-modded and inspected-- Not sure I'm gonna offer the CG mod, as it is a bit tricky (can't F-up here), perphaps after much experience --only thing is I dont have too many crapped up reps to practise with--. What do you guys think???

As a new collector, I must advertise myself a bit haha, hope you don't mind. I got the noobs too. See below. Hi Guys, I got the noobs, fully inspected same as TTK and Narikaa (as I'm in thailand too) I got them also with Swiss ETA movement. See my listing; and yes CQ is a big issue (if handled 100 upon 100 of these Noobs / other replica's mainly high-end), far bigger than many might think (you just don't hear about it so often because ppl don't openly post coz they want to get it resolved). They are fully inspected, so no crooked date window, silicon greased...... etc etc More pics in my section.... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=69733 WRONG ONE;;; You can contact me for futher details. Kind regards Chris -
