Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie
takashi replied to caracarnj's topic in General Discussion
great report and I totally agree with this: For all who are considering attending either BaselWorld or SIHH, I strongly suggest that you do it with good buddies. -
I have just gotten 10 pearls in stock. 4 have been sold and reserved. It can fit genuine Rolex insert or MBW insert or Classicwatchpart insert. They are all in tip top condition, ready to be installed. Let me assure you that this is not the same as the Hong Kong based seller on ebay which sells for 49.99USD (this one looks uneven). This one is a huge leap ahead in terms of quality. Price: 50USD each plus shipping cost (should not exceed another 10USD, depending on location). Shipped via Registered Airmail. I will update you on installation instruction if you have confirmed to buy.

Infact... that very first link from clasp to the rest of the bracelet that is holding me from using the gen bracelet. I have a small wrist and the minimum number of link that I can have on one side with gen bracelet is 5... Whereas on MBW bracelet, it's 4 links + 1/2 link which makes it perfect. A bit out of topic, for me, I am sticking to MBW bracelet despite its inaccuracies.

If it's GSM, most probably it will. The biggest concern is for USA 850Mhz band as this is not supported by this phone.

Many watches... As I shall put it, tend to be overlooked. Just look at ebel, Chopard Mille Miglia GTXL chrono, etc... They are definitely good rep but not very popular. IWC Ingenieur perhaps? I have seen late batches and am disappointed (especially with the bracelet). Even with the same rep, there is a tendency of varying quality too. Same can be said for IWC Ti GST Chrono. I have seen one of the latest batch too... Different datewheels, and somehow the bracelet feels rougher. Another good candidate is Porsche Design Flat 6... The bottom line is... replica watches are like fashion item. There will always be in and out... then in and out again (can be the same item). For example, discontinued Breitling Avenger Chrono Ti.

it takes a lot of ball... especially when dealing with dremel tools. I have seen it myself how the process done, hats off to Kelster ... and it is indeed has to be done carefully. My suggestion, practice on a cheap watch first/donor watch.

most likely yes... the coronet, first link from the clasp to the rest of the bezel and the overall fit and finish Would love to see when the clasp is open though.

Tritium! I just love that aged colour.

Review of Ebel 1911 Discovery Chronograph (Asian 7750)
takashi replied to By-Tor's topic in By-Tor's Watch Reviews
It's possible that it may be a QC issue. Anyway, I notice that this actually has a different bracelet than the 1911 BTR version (the one with 3-6-9 chrono layout). Does it also use screws for link adjustment? How's it? As for chrono pusher, indeed, it's too much protruding on the rep. The one that comes with 3-6-9 ebel rep is just nice... it's made of rubber though. The case may very well be different and I would love to see this watch in person. PS: Such rep tends to be overlooked by many It's a blessing for us who can appreciate this watch. Wear it in good health! -
Review of Ebel 1911 Discovery Chronograph (Asian 7750)
takashi replied to By-Tor's topic in By-Tor's Watch Reviews
Thanks a lot ByTor for posting this up. I am very impressed with this watch and infact this will be my next rep watch purchase (I skipped the much/overly hyped Avenger Skyland). Anyhow, it's interesting to see on gen "catalogue" picture black dial watch, it comes with standard ETA datewheel, however, in the white version (I have seen the gen), it uses Arial font (just like what the rep and gen is using). Nevertheless, if I would've gotten this watch, I will do a 7750 transplant. That will certainly be worth it. -
A good tip for touching up a SS case. Thanks a lot for sharing.
-
Got rescheduled shipping. have you got your tracking no? I got it much later this Tuesday. Should be here at the end of the week.

Who's selling this YGG dialed watch on Ebay for $2,000?
takashi replied to old skool's topic in The Panerai Area
Definitely not worth it. -
Does the gen insert fit on the old factory ETA SMP?
takashi replied to By-Tor's topic in The Omega Area
I just fitted a genuine white gold bezel (the whole bezel) to a closed factory version... From the picture, it seems that the 2 cases aren't the same (mine has a higher He valve). However, I have heard that the insert itself will fit nicely and it's interchangeable between the chrono and non chrono model. -
Agree with the value... It has skyrocketed a lot. Been seeing on eBay, even the questionable one sold for high 200-300USD. Well... As for the crystal, I don't think flat top T39 is boring Infact I like it better than the superdome version.

Great! Indeed, if you have the same interest like us (watches... no matter rep or gens), please join us for the next GTG. PS: I would love to see the Doppelchrono
