After reading some other posts in this section about spring bars and where to get them it brought up another question that perhaps the experts can dive into? After "geeking" out more and more about this "watch thing" as my wife calls it, I have now built up quite a supply of "spare parts" for all kind of watches including links, spring bars etc. Even all my old quarts watches I used to like are now in pieces inside my new "tackle box". The other day i received another watch and I noticed that he springbars were really weak and looked a little short although they were supposed to be 20mm. I replaced them with another 20mm that came with one of my new watch straps that were much beefier and fit much tighter but they were also longer. How in the world do you measure spring bars and how can one vendor send you 20mm and another 20mm and they look completely different in length and beefiness? //Cheers

I also took the plunge a few months ago and let me put it this way. The pricing and communication before watch arrival is amazing. However, if you read the fine print in his email signature it states something similar to: I gurantee that you will receive your watch 100%. Well, that is probably true however if there's something wrong or something not working the communication and service stops. I don't want to go into specifics but it seems sometimes his watches, movements or cases aren't new or just plain B-grade. I received mine 100% alright when it comes to delivery, however it was defective. Pick your dealer, then your watch.

It's actually quite easy to resize by just using items laying around your home. I use a push pin and a small pair of pliers. Press out the pin inside the link toward the crown. Then, when the pin sticks out a few mm, just pull it out with the pliers. Remove the links you don't need, and then gently, tap the pin back in with a hammer the same direction you pulled it out. Do not push it back in with the pliers as the pin will break. Learned the hard way! Good luck! Enclosing tool Pics:

I wear Pams all the time and I still feel that the 42.5mm PO is plenty big for some reason as well. It is very heavy and sits high on the wrist which might have something to do with it. This rep I feel is a must have! //Pete

Greetings, I have been around now for the last year or so with about 10 reps to my name. I don't quite consider myself a newbie anymore but very far from modding and movement disassembly/repair. I can do some of the easier DIY things but definately nothing extremely difficult. I have plenty of Swiss ETA's and 21J which run great and keeps great time. I have owned 2 Panerai watches in the past, both with the asian 7750. All of them run so dang fast? Most mechanical watches I have run +- a minute or so per day which is accepatble to me. I sold both of the 7750 and stuck with the handwind 111H which runs great. The other day I got a 212 for a friend of mine and it also runs about 5-6 minutes fast per day. Does the 7750 have a "slow down" screw like most other mechanical watches? I can open the back case easily but I have no clue what to look for in a 7750. Should I venture into this or should I go ahead and send it away to The Zigmeister! //Cheers

Greetings, I finally received a beautiful 1665. Been on my wishlist for some time but finally pulled the trigger. I can adjust bracelets on many watches but for some reason this particular model confuses me. It has these simple screws that you "un-screw" and then remove the links. However, I needed to remove 1 1/5 links but this watch doesn't have half sizes so it is a litte tight if I remove 2. Inside the clasp it has the "diver extension" but for some reason I don't understand what sizing can be done here because if I adjust part of the clasp it won't close and if I move the other it doesn't make sense either? Ideas - or should I just go on to my NATO I originally planned?

The ladies constellation is one of the nicest timepieces around. I got one for my wife as well a few months back. Beware of the clasp however, as my wife blamed her losing hers due to the bad design/quality of the clasp at Toys R Us about a month ago.

Just an Omega Planet Ocean, no Chrono. I have experienced +5 minutes in a new watch over a 24 hour period but never 40.

Greetings, After 36 hours of usage my second Omega PO is still running about 40 minutes too fast in a 24 hr period. Is this something that I should actually consider service myself or am I correct assuming this watch should be returned? //Cheers

I tried this Hadley Roma strap as well. Looked and felt too thin for me all around.

I received a new 111h working swan neck a few weeks ago. The movement was defective as the watch does not wind and the crown can't be returned to its original position, even by fairly hard force. I am not a "specialist" when it comes to watch repair but I wanted to see if there was something I could do or if this sounds like a common problem. I would return this watch to the dealer but communication over the last few weeks has been minimal and I am afraid that I have to seek other solutions. //Pete

Congrats! I am in the same boat as you looking for an aftermarket strap. I love the orange stitch strap but no real good source for the 4th gen with 20mm. Greetings, I received a new 111h with apparently a working swan neck movement the other day. I am not quite used to this movement but after reading the boards on this manual winding I think the movement has to be defective. When I release the CG lever, the crown pushes automatically out as if it were on a spring. I then try to wind the crown and it changes the time. I was under the impression that you have to wind the crown from this state to get it going and then to change the time you have to click the crown one step out? Also, when I wind the crown there is no tick winding, just quiet. Then, watch starts to move a little but then stops. Sounds like something is wrong, correct?

I know lots of useless stuff about other brands, but I need to get myself a Vintage 1665 (White) and strap on a NATO because it just looks neat. Greetings, I have been searching the web for a new good looking leather strap for the small PO. I found this website that offered a curved strap that apparently to the owner fits the 20mm PO's. It uses some Instrumento tool to be able to perfect the fit and it looks OK. The tool offers 8 differnt positions for the lug pin so apparently pretty cool. They show a pretty cool tutorial on fitting the pins. Anyone tried one? Pry apart? My first instinct would tell me to squeeze them together to make them both "lock" onto the road? Greetings, I remember reading some posts on this a while back but I can't seem to find it in the forum. I received my first Omega 4th gen PO today and the clasp itself has a little trouble closing. Inside the clasp there are two tiny metal rods that apparently close around the round clasp, one further up and the other a little below. When I squeeze the two "openers" together the rods open up and at first it closed pretty good. Later on tonight I noticed that the clasp started to slip and one "rod" released. Although it still holds pretty tight I think something can be improved? Does anyone have a fix around this or should I let it go? //Cheers P.S Beautiful watch by the way!
