  1. Thanks to everyone.

It was a very difficult task, to find a factory, who would make such a small amount of hard rubber midlinks, so, I wasn't too picky about the color. But I'll definitely will ask, if they can make some dark blue midlinks. About too many polished surfaces - wrong, all the spaces between fins are sandblasted, not polished, and it will give a very nice effect. Bracelet is mostly brushed too. Logo will be smaller, of course.

Original list of buyers will be published, when all watches would be taken, I don't see any reason to post it now, nobody will have any preferences in numbers anyway. So, if somebody want it - PM me. Not many left.

Excellent on the brushing/sandblasting, wasn't sure from the pics. It's a cracking watch then! :) Ye should seriously think about going into business as a small boutique watch brand in the future, really good independent designs like this are rare these days!

  2. Yep, better to buy a cheap gen smp, even a quartz, which are great value for money than any of the reps. Those old chrono smps were great also, better than the newer rasied marker version for sure.... they seem to be rarer than hens teeth these days unfortunately.

  3. one other thing, what is wrong with the 2220.80 rep? is it just the color and is that the problem on all of them?

I agree with watchman, the current non chrono smps are a disaster beyond belief tbh. better to ask what is right with them than what is wrong with them. Too many issues to list, dial/waves/logos/He/dw/crown/pearls etc. For such a straightforward three hand watch it's ridiculous that there isnt a better rep. As said above an old now closed factory from around 2007 had a better one in production...but those are long gone!

    Oh very interesting.

Do you by chance know what dealer would have it in stock?

what are the differences between these two?

Go for the first one, both are same watches, just lighting making one darker in pics but if you look closely one is slightly updated and has correct strikthrough omega logo and the other one has underscoring, not a big deal but the correct logo one is just nicer, it's not exactly a different watch, just a V1.1 update somewhere along the line. Some dealer offer the underscore version, go for one with the correct logo.

    See here:

Gen vs new raised logo rep version (this one has underscored logo).

Good review of the raised logo 'red' smp chrono here:

As for who has it in stock, not sure, but they all could get it I'm sure, does Tony not have it in stock?

  4. The blue chrono is about the best of them, not superrep but not too far off, lume/Ar/pearl are issues, but tbh gen smp AR is rubbish single inner only anyway. So add lume and pearl and excellent rep, if not it's stiill great outofbox.

  5. I saw it the other day, at first I went wow, but now that I've had another look at it not so sure. A cracking design definitely and fair play to the creators, but a lot of polished surfaces going on there (Breitling fans will be happy) and the middle part of the bracelet is not right :) ...saying that, the case, the hour markers especially and dial look cool, so does the red chrono hand.

....in fairness to the guys involved they should start their own company....companies like CW, Steinhart are making huge bucks dooing less original stuff.

  6. Hi Akira, thanks for all the updates, definitely confirming if he can put dial and hands in one of his standard mystery v72 offerings, looking for full build here from him if possible. I know this is being awkward but I don't want to get into the $000's of a heavy franken daytona.....I love the watch but for those prices there are others too tempting ;)

Edit: I'm not up on DW's offerings, is he still doing builds with his mystery movement, how much roughly do they cost?

  7. Certainly looks like a dg2813, or NN2813, does it have any markings on it? You could just buy a dg2813 from ofrei or cousinsuk or even on ebay and swap it out. I'm not sure of this particular movement exactly, but worth a try if you want to resurrect the watch.

Keep the old movement as you may want the rotor or other parts from it if the hands done fit on the new movement cannon pin etc.

btw if it is a price angels watch it might be just less hassle to buy an new one? How much did it cost?
