  1. Yeah, I find the 1.8 work great with rubber or leather straps, much more secure and snug, the bracelets are fairly unforgiving tho, might be just better to go a tad lower. Speaking of rep bracelets I had a spare one and I can't find it, it came off a PO 5th gen about 8 months ago and I threw it in some corner or drawer and I've been looking for the damn thing for two weeks now...nowhere to be seen, I only want parts off it as I want to fit a gen clasp and end links on it. If I find it you can have the half link on it, but I wouldn't hold my breath, ...I think i'll end up having to buy a full rep bracelet to finish the job. Watch it ll turn up then once i've bought another! I also lost my bloody screwdriver set aswell, I just had that last week to resize another bracelet, sigh! I think I'm losing it
  2. Strange, I got one bracelet on with 1.8mm but it was finicky, maybe I was just lucky, 1.5 should be fine, if i'm not mistaken that is the size they came with (or 1.6mm)?
  3. Well done Jkay, btw that's a lovely white SOSF you're wearing!
  4. Might be worth throwing Andrew or narikaa a mail, although the shipping costs you might be faster and as cheap with a gen half link. Also btw cousins have the iso swiss springbars cheap as chips, they are worth getting as they are strong as fcuk, equal to gen imo.
  5. The 1.8mm springbars fit fine matt, aftermarket half links might be available in the parts section on the forums or possibly ebay with certain suppliers...wholesaleoutlet? etc Gen links are dear as you said yourself, not really worth it, someone must have some available, I saw a full rep bracelet with half links go for $30 on rwi last wk.
  6. Mesh looks great on it Gran, excellent choice!
  7. Old AT @ 39mm, it's a bigger fcuker than the mm suggest!
  8. It's not really 'midsize' though Logan, you know that, even though it's called that these days! It's 38.5 almost all dial and 13mm-ish thick, it's quite a good size in the flesh, comparable size to the Explorer I 39mm and chunkier aswell. It's a good classic size, rather than midsize. Even the 41.5mm AT are massive looking, much bigger looking face than the 42mm PO due to all dial!
  9. Really interested in doing one of these sometime, parts permitting! The prices are excellent for the result achieved. Great work! Was it the Tissot Seastar T12 Chrono you used for the cal.873? PM me if you have a good source? Cheers!
  10. Great review Chrgod, watch looks really nice for the price, good pickup!
  11. This pearl in a QC pic from twenty04 a just a few threads down is much better: http://www.rwg.cc/topic/145181-lend-me-your-eyes-po-42mm-qc/ Also this one at the end of the page looks better:
  12. I don't think the timeshops one is great tbh zenman, pearl should be flush, that's one of the earlier ones, and the price $304 for a a2824......not a chance! ...Trevor/MR/Sead are selling these for around $200 if I'm not mistaken. Either way it's just a stock pic as Jkay said, you won't get one exactly like that. Edit,, right sorry, it says eta 2824 for $308, and 'option' avail for asian 2824....my mistake!
  13. Cheers maxman, I will let you know if I can pick one up. You're right, I would never run into anybody with a Lange in a million years, The watch certainly looks pretty good. It's difficult to find pics or reviews on it. What I was mainly thinking was how good the quality is?, rather than accuracy to gen, as you know yourself some of these high end reps are very nice such as the lange datograph, and some leave alot to be desired in terms of basic finishing/dial print etc. The main thing with the high end reps for me anyway seems to be if the balance of the dial looks good, and the finish looks reasonable then they are worth a second look. Some of them seem to have all the finish and dial print ok but they end up ruining the balance of the watch by sticking a chrono dial on top or a logo or date window in an odd place. Others have the finishing and dial print of a crap a21j and they stick a st19 in it call it handwind and charge $300 for it. This one seems to be reasonably good in that regard, not madly expensive and the finish 'seems' to be up there with the good rep Langes, JLC and Pateks. I'll see if I can find any and give feedback if I can get it.
  14. Look at the effort the factories can put into the Ladymatic, with this sort of effort along with the cases that are currently available for the a21j AT's (slightly bigger and thicker than the old rep AT) a movement holder for sw200 or 2892 and the current teak dial format we could have a shiiit hot rep in no time. The major issue would be the blue coloured dial (blue is never quite right in reps unfortuantly, I'd happily settle for a black or grey dial): Look at that logo and lettering: Also look at the movement, not the best pic but you can see what they have already done with a decorated sellita: Current 38ish mm a21j AT
  15. The gen crystal or at least a proper modded double AR'd crystal is worth it if already gone as far as getting a gen dial, the rep crystal isn't the best, way too blue.
  16. Absolutely, much better than epoxy, realistically it's as secure as a gen case/tube setup. Great to see it!
  17. I love all things speedy, but have they lost the plot with this release?:
  18. This is a great reference, cheers! Great selection of photos. Although I'm trying to stay away from pics of the new black smp ceramic, I want one, I think it looks the business!
  19. Fantastic work Om3gy_guy thanks for posting, the watch looks superb. I just love the tube sleeve assembly. I had heard about those being made but it's lovely to see it being installed!
  20. Yeah, I think you're right, I'm no Bond aficionado but didn't the original Bond in the books wear a Rolex Explorer 1? This switch to AT is more in keeping with that sort of design. btw Tom, I love your avatar, never fails to make me smile , the unibrow, Kazakhstan moustache and the missing incisor, it's a great look
  21. Amazing stuff, the all look spectacular and I've seen both the transitional and the panda before, the panda is beautiful, but the silver dial is really something else, looks stunning, never laid eyes on one until now. Can't believe those silver dials are available on Ofrei. Great work azjgav!
  22. Don't know much about what he will or won't wear in skyfall but judging by omega lately they'll shove him into a few watches to maximize exposure ala casino royale.
  23. Us beggers can't be choosers We'll take it if they can only do it in the slimmer profile, the decorated a2892 or sellita in the old case AT rep would do for starters
  24. Anybody give any feedback on this watch, I think it looks very good? Yeah sure not 100% accurate but still a nice rep? I can't see much feedback on them, whereas plenty of info on other lange models, the flyback datograph is getting alot of reviews lately, very hard to see anything on this version. Same open display case with lemania clone st-19 as most of the handwind reps. Afaik the rep has blue hands aswell just not very clear in the pics. The strap is usual rep quality, needs a good strap, but could be a good watch with a nice strap. It is also a correct 40mm to gen which is a good size. Rep: Sorry about robbed pics but old sales thread was best I could find. Gen: The rep has the standard display with st19, the lange is a bit more elaborate still a goodlooking rep though!
