  1. I watched the minutes crawl by on this today as I sat through an extremely tedious presentation I'm not that happy with either photo...but here they are anyway!
  2. I wore this today to my dear friend's retirement ceremony...he's a Breitling fan!
  3. No Eric, I had it with me at the GTG...I got it from Angus, it's the ultimate fiddy...great lume! If you can remember back through the haze of all that beer and wine, I was asking you if you had a 26mm strap for sale when you brought out the 24mm...for this fiddy! Well, for the dinner tonight I went back to this combo, she looked great with my black button-up and jeans!
  4. Okay, I guess I'm first up for today...I can't seem to get this watch off my wrist now that the strap looks nicer...still waiting on the Brindle from Micah... Not bad for a snapshot while driving home for lunch! Not sure what I'll wear tonight for dinner at a friends yet...to be continued...
  5. I wore this to the movies tonight...Sweeney Todd...Johnny Depp was wonderful! Sondheim is a genius! Okay, back to the watch...mmm, Stephane, you have renewed my love for this watch...sorry for the bad photo...
  6. I wish this was my watch...that one is Stephane's Polish 3717 That's okay...my 3717 is getting a Polish visa any day now , and perhaps a Swiss heart transplant!!! Thanks everyone for posting all of these wonderful photos...I must say that I truly enjoyed meeting you all, what a first class group of people!
  7. Thanks to fxrandy's excellent tutorial at the GTG, I don't have to wait until my Micah strap comes in to show off my ultimate fiddy from Angus... Here it is on my "vintage" rep strap: It goes great with my "free" camouflage pants...all I had to do was sign on the dotted line...
  8. Here is my favorite photo I took from the evening...this was at three in the morning!!! The genuine interest in watches stayed strong throughout the evening, even after MANY rounds of drinks! I want to say thank you to everyone, I truly enjoyed the chance to meet fellow watch enthusiasts and be welcomed into this community so warmly. I hope to see you all again soon, before my return to the United States!
  9. Saturday night in Brussels: Stephane was so generous to let me try on his GENUINE Explorer....WOW!!!! Here is Admin's awesome Chopard Panda GMT under Stephane's loupe...I think I need one now! (the loupe too!) Sunday between Brussels and home: My Breitling lost a crystal My favorite wristshot of the weekend, traveling with new friends:
  10. After a long weekend of SO MANY beautiful watches on my wrist thanks to the Brussels contingent, I'm back home relaxing as the sun goes down: My PAM 112H with a Mario Paci PAV 91...Tasty if I do say so myself!
  11. thanks scoobs...looking forward to meeting you tomorrow, looking forward to meeting everyone at the GTG in Brussels in fact!!!
  12. Thank you everyone! I feel much better this morning than I did last night going to bed...nothing irritates me more than screwing up a beautiful watch! kelster, I will bring it tomorrow...and now you don't have to feel so bad...the allure just isn't the same with a hand missing! scoobs...I contacted The Zigmeister right away, still awaiting a response. I think I violated a rule of his by asking his advice in a pm rather than on the forum but now it should be all better. I would like to get this movement serviced, as the watch is absolutely GORGEOUS, and keeper for sure. As for trying this at home, I'm still glad I did it. It went VERY well except for this one little issue, and now I feel more confident with the 7750 than I did before. I am very interested in watch smithing as a hobby and this little adventure just gave me more experience! I'm starting to wonder if using the lever style hand puller is a better idea...the presto puller seems to use a lot of force even with a gentle squeeze. Any thoughts from the more experienced "pullers"?
  13. Okay, so I followed Puqwash's wonderful tutorial on how to swap the day and date wheel on a 7750 movement. It is in my brand new IWC 3717. Everything was going smoothly until I needed to fit the hands back onto the movement. The hour hand subdial (at six o'clock) would not go back on...then I noticed that the pinion was shorter than the rest. Then I noticed that I couldn't see daylight through the hand where the hole is...so I guess the presto removal tool was a little rough on it and the pinion broke. My question is this: What do I do now? Do I have to buy a new movement? Is it possible to fix the hand with the pin stuck in it, or do I need a new one of those as well? If I need to replace the pins, then is it possible to get silver ones instead of the brass colored ones, or do I need to go swiss for that? Okay, enough questions for now...time to educate the newbie...gimme whatcha got, and thanks in advance! By the way The Zigmeister, I just read your rules about consultation...sorry for screwing up, I'm trying to correct myself right now!
  14. In my opinion this is the only way to wear a Mont Blanc...I just don't like their watches on bracelets...beautiful watch!!!
  15. Yes, it's the guitar trio album with Steve Jordan on Drums and Pino Palladino on Bass...seriously awesome stuff, more like hearing John live, where he let's his guitar playing shine much more than he does in the studio. That dude is a savant or something...anyway, get the Try! album if you like Hendrix, he covers a couple of his tunes and the whole album feels like that kind of stuff. I'm also looking forward to Brussels, we'll talk more about this stuff then...I feel like I just hijacked this thread!
  16. As I type I'm listening to a classic (or it should be) DMB Before these Crowded Streets...I forgot how great this album is...especially through some decent Grado cans!
  17. Anyone who can't stand Frank Zappa, King Crimson, and John McLaughlin shouldn't be taken seriously and I definitely think YOU should be HIS boss on this point alone...even if he is your stepfather!
  18. My current favorite Debussy piece is his Trois Chansons de Charles d'Orl
  19. Wow. I just went through all of these posts about what people are listening to and it's really fascinating! I'm a professional musician...meaning that it's what I do full time, so my musical tastes have an extremely broad range. Some people mentioned Joe Bonamassa, Amy Winehouse, The White Stripes...there is great music to be heard from these people! I also wanted to say that TTK's playlist right now is AWESOME!!! He's even got some Nick Drake in there...wow. Okay, now for the albums I'm listening to lately: Derek Trucks Band: Soul Serenade, Lifelines, Joyful Noise (all three albums are amazing) Susan Tedeschi: Hope and Desire (I had to mention her next as she's married to Derek, this album has the best cover of "Lord Protect My Child" by Bob Dylan EVER!!!) Brandi Carlile: The Story Ben Harper: Live from Mars, Lifeline, Diamonds on the Inside (if you don't own any Ben Harper, do yourself a favor and buy some...truly awesome stuff!!!) Harry Connick Jr.: Chanson du Vieux Carre Madeleine Peyroux: Half the Perfect World Joni Mitchell: Clouds The Band: Best of the Band (I don't normally like these best of things, as it's not as the band intended their music to be heard, but this one is great, and for me The Band is PERFECT no matter how you listen to them!!!) John Prine: John Prine John Mayer Trio: Try! (I like him even more now that I know he's into watches!!!) Okay, as I'm a classical musician I'll spare you all the album details, but lately my listening has been stuff like Michael Tilson Admin' Street Song for Symphonic Brass, performed by the Center City Brass Quintet, Brahms 1st Violin Concerto performed by Malcolm McNab, Grieg's Wedding Day at Troldhaugen (I'm getting married in March...trying to find something unique for the recessional), and of course I can't go a day without listening to some Bach. Okay...I'm done for now...sorry everyone, this thread hit a nerve and away I went...
