I fixed it!!! My solution was a bit different than the supplied suggestion from The Zigmeister...although without his knowledge of exactly WHAT the problem was to begin with, I couldn't have figured this out. Instead of finding a washer to extend the post, or using epoxy, I slept on it. This morning I thought to myself...what if the defect is in the click itself rather than the post? Perhaps the click is a bit too thick! So I pulled out a sheet of 600 grit sandpaper and put the click on the tip of my finger, then with light pressure, sanded the bottom side of the click for about 60 seconds. There was some trial and error, and I went slow so I wouldn't remove too much, but it worked EXTREMELY well, and I didn't have to find an infinitesimal washer for the post or epoxy part of the movement together (although I doubt I will get this movement serviced, you never know!). I thought that since you guys helped me, I would let you know what ended up working for me so that if you ever run across another defect in this part of the movement, you can consider this solution too!

I looked at that watch the other day, but since I've bought eleven watches in the past two months, I didn't have the funds to bid on it...is there a hotline for what I have???
-
Thanks chieftang, so your response begs the question...where do I find the buckle in your photo? Has the supply dried up, or can I order them still?
-
That sounds great, I can't wait to get mine!!! Especially since the postman delivered a little package from Angus today...the fiddy has landed!!! What a watch, what a watch....too bad that rep strap looks like total crap! chieftang: Did you get the sewn in buckle or are you using a preexisting one? I haven't decided yet whether I should use the rep buckle (it seems nice, but what do I know, I'm a newbie!) or have Micah sew in his...thoughts, opinions? victoria can chime in too, being the resident strap expert and fellow owner of a Vintager Brindle!

Thank you both for helping me become more than a newbie...this forum and it's contributors are truly special!

That's great news The Zigmeister, thanks for the advice! Now one more unrelated question if I may: My 112H has a thick crown installed, but it sits just a bit too far off the case (1mm) when the lock is in place. How do I go about shortening the stem to get it closer, or is that the wrong way to fix this issue? Thanks again The Zigmeister, your contribution to this forum is outstanding!

Thanks The Zigmeister, I knew you'd have the answer! What do you think about a small, improvised washer that sits above the post, but inside the click? would that lengthen the post, thereby letting the screw bottom out? I'd hate to have to send this watch back, it's such a beauty and I know somehow it would come back with scratched hands or something!

Okay, I just received my Ultimate Fiddy, and it's a BEAUTIFUL watch! The only problem is that while in shipment the click screw came off and the click and spring below it were floating around inside the case. Being the kind of guy I am, I decided that this would be an easy fix that I could handle. I think I was right I put the spring and click back in place by looking at my 112H and everything was going perfectly. Then I screwed down the click screw. Yay, the watch could wind! Then I noticed as I was winding that the screw was UN-winding as the click and ratchet worked together So I went back in and tightened it a bit more! Then I noticed that I couldn't wind it because the click was immobilized, therefore immobilizing the ratchet. So how do I tighten the click screw enough to keep it from backing out, but not so tight that the click won't move? Thanks in advance for taking the time to help out a newbie who is willing to learn!

It's not that much better...the date wheel is black, but the dates should stay parallel with the font on the dial, and still no orange seconds hand on the pro dial. It seems to me the only thing better about this one is the crowns have the black inserts on them. I like this watch so much that I'm willing to wait a while for these small issues to be addressed. I really don't expect that black carbon finish (awesome!) to make into rep-land, so I'll probably go with the stainless steel on this one! Although I'll wait for a closer replication, this watch at the asking price is a GREAT deal. Most people won't run into a gen owner of this watch during their lifetime, so unless perfect accuracy is the goal in your collection, grab up this inexpensive beauty from Narikaa!

The one I lust for is the black 02 pro...dots instead of numerals...especially with the orange seconds hand! C'mon, just a few fixes and this is so close!
-
My research shows that the second hand should be orange on the pro models (with dots instead of arabic numerals) and that the two crowns should have black inserts on them. Aside from the date wheel issue already mentioned, these are the only faults I can find...seems like a pretty good job for the first round on a new rep! I've been wondering why they don't just use the same movement from the 03, which has the black date wheel in it already... The bottom line is that this is a very good price for a rep this close to the genuine!

I ordered a Brindle strap from Micah about three weeks ago...I can't wait to put it on my 127! I can't wait to actually RECEIVE the 127 either...placed that order around the same time...the joys of waiting...
-
I wear my PAM 112H on the bracelet...but only because I'm still waiting on my two nicer straps...a MP PAV 91 and a DON California Tan. Until those get here the bracelet (after some considerable smoothing and oiling) is my best option... the rep strap really sucks! After getting used to the look of it on steel, I will use it as part of my rotation...it's a nice look. Of course I say that without any first hand experience with a quality leather strap...once I get the MP, I may never want to take it off! As for my 127...Micah is working his magic for that baby, Brindle incoming!

IWC 3717: Genuine day/date wheels, genuine AR and a strap
cronsell replied to Stephane's topic in The IWC Area
This watch may not be the best out of the box rep of the year...but damn if it isn't the most beautiful! I NEED one... -
Woohoo!!! That's awesome news!!! When can we see pics???

That's what this forum is all about! Because of this forum I dodged the bullet of a SWISS AAA REPLICA Panerai and learned everything my search button could uncover about the abilities of various factories, dealers, and modifiers. Once I had the knowledge, I applied my own cost/benefit analysis and came up with my own best bang for the buck watch to buy. I couldn't be happier, and I owe it all to RWG, thanks everyone!!! The more we discuss the quality of each new release, the more we can make an informed decision, on an individual basis, whether the watch in question is worth the price of admission
-
A Rep is a replica, not a replacement...nothing truly compares to the craftsmanship of a gen, that is why they demand the high price. I think that we get a lot more than 10% of the genuine article so in my opinion we get a good deal. If I had the money, all my watches would end up being genuine ones...alas my profession will never allow for that level of spending!
-
If I like the watch, I can rock it no matter what size it is!!! I've got a 175 cm wrist (just under 7 inches) and I haven't found a watch yet that feels too big...it's all about comfort level, if you feel uncertain about a big watch then it won't look good on you. I say if you like it, then go for it!!!
-
After receiving my first of two ordered B&R 03-92's (I have a white letter one courtesy of Plant and TTK has an orange letter LE with my name on it) I have to say that these B&R watches are incredibly sexy!!! The 03-92 looks great with whatever I'm wearing, and the 02 models seem to compound the universal appeal, and minimize the love it or hate look of the 03....REP IT!!!!
-
This is a hobby I have come to truly enjoy. Do I need so many watches? Of course not! Collecting and tinkering with watches is a source of happiness for me, and if the cost of that happiness is usually 10% or less of the genuine watch, I consider myself lucky! It all boils down to one question... What is your price? Mine tends to vary....
-
This is too funny!!! I just sent my first forward email ever...I love it! On a side note, that is one VERY wonderful movie, if you haven't seen it, you should, I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Josh mentioned he is posting pics of the new bracelet in the next few days, and from what has been said, it will not fit on the discounted Aquatimer. It makes sense that this is why we see the discount a few days before the new release...smart marketing...glad I held off! Edit: I'm stupid...I realize now that I'm talking about two different watches here...the Cousteau's and the Slevin...sorry for the confusion, too much coffee!!!

Pictorial!A rep perfect sub VS gen submariner
cronsell replied to elprimerozen's topic in The Rolex Area
Nevermind....I hate this about pictorials...perspective can play serious tricks on the human eye. a couple degrees of angle difference between the photos and a difference in size/lighting just fooled me big time...the bezels are damn close, sorry to waste everyone's time!
