  1. After many weeks of waiting (as we all must for watches like this one!) I finally have my completed IWC 3717 Check out the AR coating from K2222...WOW!!! This shot shows off the double AR in sunlight...check out the cross below the 2: Now lets see this classic beauty strut for the camera!!! The strap is the Meyhofer Berlin 22mm, and I really love it...super soft and still robust enought to balance this sizeable chronometer. The best part about the strap is it's less than
  2. Stephane, thank you for your kind words! It takes a gentleman to know one, and you are one of the very finest! I hope all my dealings in the watch world go as ours did, with everyone happy in the end. Wear her well my friend, wear her well!
  3. Now normally today would be Fiddy Friday for me as it is every week....however today is different...today is: Fliegeruhr Freitag!!!
  4. Hah! God I hope so! Umm, I'm not sure if my new bride is with me on this idea though... I love having all these wonderful watches around...but to be honest, I bought both of these a while ago...I had the 3717 at the GTG, but kept it in the hotel room as it was wounded from my attempt at the day/date swap...pesky hour wheel pinion broke off in the hand... The sub is also not new...just a new crown/tube... And to top it off, in order to buy the Hublot that I just got I sold two of my babies...the Chopard GT XL and the Lange Baton dial from my wedding post. So this month I actually have FEWER watches. Damn...what's up with THAT??? Okay, I gotta go find some watches to buy!!!
  5. For the second day in a row... I've got confirmation...I'll be picking up my 3717 and the Submariner tomorrow!
  6. Thanks Lanikai! I'm really excited to get my 3717 back, it's a watch I've really fallen in love with! And the Sub should be about as good as it gets...swiss noob with gen bezel and BKLM1234 crown and tube! I was told by the watchsmith that I might have to wait a day more...I hope not to disappoint anyone, but I may not have the goods until later this week. HOWEVER...I just made payment on something I'm really excited about...a Hublot Big Bang SS/SS (right case, highbeat A7750, double AR) with smooth strap...a combo I've been dying to see, and now it's mine! I'll put it on my wrist hopefully by the end of the month!
  7. 112 on MP PAV 91... I hope to wear my 3717 tomorrow...it got a Polish face lift and now it's getting a Swiss heart transplant, hopefully back on my wrist before I sleep Wednesday night! Then Thursday I'll wear my "perfect" Submariner, fresh from a BKLM1234 crown/tube swap!
  8. Thank you! I'm actually on the fence about selling it...I have another Chopard (GMT Chrono panda dial) on the way once I settle in the U.S. next month, and I've got a fever for a Hublot Big Bang...can't get the platinum mat finish out of my mind, I dream about that watch at night! I don't know about spending that much money though, so I'm thinking lite version first...SS/SS or SS/RG to see if I really like it! Either way, this watch could help fund that project and doesn't get a lot of wrist time...but then I look at these photos and can't decide!
  9. Thank you for your help guys! I think it's strange that they would make the GMT Chrono crystal this way since there is no font on it as there is with the newer Chrono. It seems like it would just be a single crystal and then the cyclops. I would understand if the cyclops were made of acrylic or something, which would also put an end to this idea, but two piece? I just don't know enough about crystals in watches to make a truly educated guess. Either way, I tried the gen of the new chrono on a few weeks ago...didn't do anything for me so I will go with the GMT Chrono in a panda dial, the light factory single AR will just have to do...
  10. It's ALWAYS Fiddy Friday for me...keeps this baby in the rotation
  11. I'm hoping to get a new Chopard GMT Chrono (panda dial, thanks to seeing Admin' at the GTG in Brussels!). Does anyone know if the cyclops is glued onto the crystal, or is the crystal one piece? I want to send it to Jakub
  12. Chopard today... Lovely dial! This shot shows more wrist...for sizing purposes. It's big, but on my 7" wrist, it's fine!

  14. If these do indeed have the low beat 7750, wouldn't they make a great starting point for an ETA swap? The pinion sizes are the same, correct? Just a thought...
  15. My 112 today...I've been messing around with some Photoshop techniques, do you think I went too far? Experts chime in please! I like this shot, it shows the essence of single sided AR...you can see both sides of the crystal in the reflections, very three dimentional!

  17. What makes a Lange so beautiful? It's truly a piece of art, jewelry-like in every detail. When it comes to dress watches, I think the replica world has it's hands full...a good dress watch is jewelry for a man, costume pieces just don't glitter like diamonds do! A dial alone has too many beautifully finished pieces made of precious materials to replicate with any "genuine feel" to it. I think a solid gold case goes a long way towards gen feel, but the movement and dial on a Lange or Glash
  18. Thank you Homer, for the best dress watch I could ask for! Iddn't she purrrdddy???
