  1. yes v you are exactly right.. this is why i am using sandwich dials as a base then filling the indices with lume.. looks closest to gen this way. the "sausage" dials just look wrong..
  2. i have the best 112 and 111 painted dials here.. they are modified with smoothed indices of my "super c2" mix and baseplates are g7m lumed for the brightest, longest lume charge to date from a modified dial. please contact me if you want one of these.. i only have a few.... the lume charge is brighter and longer than my genuines. the color is a near exact match. sorry for the quick shots.. i am using my mac which has bad photo software and no tripod.. just wanted to show a fast pic set. i know the pics suck...
  3. DID someone say 112?????? get the asian swiss swanneck and mod it. much better than davidsens in my opinion. here is a few i've done recently. (non-davidsen)
  4. i think i would not bother getting the swanneck movement.. yours is true swiss and reliable. besides, the gen movement looks nothing like the rep movement and no one would be fooled anyways.. i think the watch looks great! get a good MF strap on there! here is the movement on my 183g which is the same as the gen fiddy.
  5. i can make you one out of white gold if you want... white gold cost more than yellow gold though.
  6. actually.... i wanted it to be close to a breguet as i love that look. the case is very different though. much bigger and thicker.
  7. i used a 183 case to start, shaved off all the panerai markings, installed a white roman dial, my own design blued "wrench" hands, a base 6497-1 with polished gears added mounted on a badass gator strap enjoy the pics!
  8. i'm not a big fan of the unitas skeleton as the keyless works is so big..
  9. i have the name already i'm just waiting on the first 100 dials to be made. 42mm minus crown.
  10. thanks The Zigmeister! the benzinger movement actually cost more than the case but pretty close! the finish and quality is amazing.
  11. this one is for me thanks! it's a keeper:)
  12. most of you already know i am a collector of gens and i like to build my own watches. before i have my own line going into production in the near future i wanted to build something really nice for my collection. here is what i used to build this watch. *Solid 18K red gold 42mm case *Benzinger hand made Mod 6498-1 unitas base 18k YG movement *Double AR sapphire crystal *sapphire back *Breguet blued steel hands *white roman dial *Lonestar gator strap and RG deployment the result is a watch that surpasses the quality of any gen watch i own.. pams, omega, Ebel, Sinn ect...
  13. great! start looking for a palp crown or homer crown now.. pm me in september
  14. the teeth on the palp crown is more accurate to the gen.. the homer crown is wider and looks awesome but not as accurate to genuine. they are both too wide.. the crowngaurd is the real issue but the best fix is installing a fat crown to cause the visual effect of the gen.
  15. good to have you here thumb! you will be a great asset to the forum. your work speaks for itself.
  16. i do not have any homer crowns. i do not have any homer crowns. i do not have any homer crowns. i do not have any homer crowns. i do not have any homer crowns. i do not have any homer crowns.i do not have any homer crowns. no more PMs asking for homer crowns please.... i do not carry spare upgrade parts. and yes. my mistake it was a beautiful MF strap. i had pamnesia..LOL
  17. this model is the best pam to modify in my opinion.. check the pics if you have to ask why i think this......full works, super c2, homer crown, cg mod, cannon fix, mp strap.
  18. i just heat the case untill it glows brighter than my superlume then quench it.
  19. -please be sure to tighten the two crowngaurd screws before sending the watch back- if this is not the case send me a pm and i'll help.
  20. just finished this up today.. started as a mini fiddy... i aged the metal on the case and cg, airbrushed the dial, vintage wabi lume, hands, cg, and added a plexi crystal and a vintage strap. it was hard to photo the dial with the plexi so i removed it for this pic..
  21. it was from an old 8 day clock.. it's very thick almost twice as thick as a unitas.. the dial back plate was removed and the sandwich indices filled to gain 2mm and the inner bezel had to have 1mm taken out for the stem to line up with the tube.. not easy but the result is unique.
