Shaken not stirred. Aka. Not another Bond Thread!!! (Pic. Heavy) Something i threw together on RWI. I thought I might share it here. What is our fascination with this sociopath, misogynistic, alcoholic, emotionally dysfunctional, sickly charming, ruthless killing machine? He might be all these things but the films and the character exude style, taste and there is a little bit in all of us that wants to escape into the fantasy world in which he resides. One really has to question the effectiveness of a secret agent whose preference for alcohol beverages is known to every bartender in every exotic location throughout the world. Anyway, lets re-visit the much written about Bond Watches. Along with Cars and women this is another area where the character displays great taste and style. However, the only thing he really chooses or seduces is the women, we know that Q (not @QueTip) chooses his cars and watches. So, Q is the man. The great thing for Bond, unlike us, is he gets them all for free. So here we go, some but not all of the 007 watches. Hours of research watching and freeze framing went into this thread lol. Joking of course but now since this watch hobby (addiction) has overcome me I cannot watch a Bond film without my finger hovering over the pause button for those minuscule glimpses of 007 arm candy. Rolex 6538. There has been some debate over the years regarding what Rolex Sean Connery wears and the provenance of it. However due to the advent of DVD and Blue Ray it is now fairly obvious. As @Thrasher is tired telling people the Connery sub is a 6538 big crown, with a silver triangle and a 2 line metres first gilt dial. The strap was generally considered to be an admiralty grey nato. We now know it was a black red and green undersized RAF strap. It was also worn on a Black leather strap in Dr. No. and From Russia with love. The RAF strap appeared in Goldfinger. Again, in Thunderball the 6538 tells the time while the Breitling Top Time tells supplies the Geiger counter. My version is the Helenarou Connery Submariner. It is a work of art in my biased opinion. Rolex 5513 An early appearance of the 5513 is displayed by George Lazenby in “On her Majesty’s secret service”. It was made more prominently worn by Roger Moore in “Live and Let Die” and “Diamonds are forever”. It had the buzzsaw bezel in “Live and Let Die” and a handy magnet for disrobing young ladies. Apart from the quirky bezel it has a feet first 2 line dial. The weird thing is when I was searching for images the photos of my watch and rivet bracelets are all over the internet lol so here it is my @JohnnyLazar built “Live and Let Die”.

Hello Everybody! I just joined this Forum and came from RWI. I had a similar post over there but I want to be a part of this community as well so I am sharing it with you, too. It is my first attempt at modding a watch, let me know what you think about it. I started with a watch from m2m which was basically a Silix BC case, brevet crown, DG movement, stock plexi, mercedes hands from raffle. I don't know where the dial came from. I than read somewhere that you can make really nice vintage dials if you just grill it in the oven... It should be noted that I am really in to vintage watches and like it if the dial of a watch is quite aged and has a nice patina. Okey, so I disassembled the watch put the dial in the oven patiently waited besides it for about 10 minutes and nothing happened, so I went away for about 1 minute, came back and it looked like this: The watch simply looked like it was tied to an Afghanistan goats back for 30 years as someone at RWI said. And its true. It looked like a damaged watch. So I decided to further work on it. I got a raffles dial via m2m and while I was waiting for it I further worked on the case. I tried to do the chamfers and the general profile of the case: Even though I liked the case back than I still wasn't quite satisfied with the results. I really like fat chamfers like on the 6200 and actually saw a few 6538 with very wide chamfers. So much variation within those references... The case still didn't have the right look so I further modded it. By that time the raffles dial arrived and since the insert wasn't looking good I got another one that was slightly better. The hands were some I got from StoneP a few months back: As mentioned above I liked well aged dials. That was the complete opposite of what I wanted so I tried to age the dial and hands further, give it a little texture and decided to cut wide chamfers like I wanted from the beginning. I also changed the crystal to a flatter one: I also grilled the bezel retaining ring to give it a more gen look and drilled the lug holes to 1.3mm if I remember correctly since the stock ones where to small. I couldn't find a white lollipop hand that would fit my movement so I painted mine white and aged it a little to match the dial and other hands: After that the new insert arrived. I took of the lume pearl and aged it a tiny little bit, maybe I will do more on that. I also polished the chamfers a bit more: Since the current crown sucks, I decided that I want to get the Athaya brevet crown. I dissembled the watch and drilled and tab the case. Sadly the tube broke when I wanted to screw of the crown, so I ordered a new one. Still have to wait for that one to arrive. I also got the Sternkreuz HW304 crystal. All parts are now waiting for the crown to arrive... It should also be noted that the only tools I used for the case one was my hand drill, some sandpaper, a simple file and cape cod for the polish. Here is a picture of my little baby Sorry for the long read. Will keep you guys updated on the process. Let me know what you think! Looking forward to this community. Cheers, Limer

Hi Gents, When I first got myself in the RepWorld, it was mainly related to early Bond Movies: I was looking for - as many of us - to replicate Connery/Broccoli famous wristwatch. From that time, my taste evolved and I ended with one 6200 and one 6538. But that's not the point here. Here are two detailed screenshots I took from Goldfinger and Thunderball BR-rip, we all know about: From what I can see, this is not - as some of us use to believe - a Gilt Dial & Hand Set but rather a Service Dial (white and printed) and a Silver Hand Set. Is that it, or am I missing something here ? That would be the question I'm asking you, as I never really find a good answer/explanation to that... question

Dear RWG:ers, My father passed me his Omega Seamaster Rep which he bought in the early times of the now enormous rep industry. It features a Swiss movement, and is in terms of weight pretty near perfect to the gen. The lume is outstanding for its early time (2006), and is still tracking time like day 1 (doesn't lose more than ± 3 seconds/day for 3 days of consecutive testing). The 120 click bezel works great, and the triangle at the top of the bezel is pretty centered. I'm planning to wear this until the 2nd batch of the PO's come out, and then replace with a 45.5 mm PO. The problem with this watch is the little dot in the triangle at the top of the bezel (see photos). It's colour compared to the ones inside the watch, is way off, thus being a big giveaway. Does anyone know any way - without needing to spend too much - to fix this error? Popping it out, repaint it (jk!)? Any tips would be helpful. Here are some pictures (taken with my iPhone):

I haven't seen these on his site before, wanted to know if anyone has one/if they're any good (especially interested if these are 'wokky'). http://www.ingod44.com/rolex-completed-case-submariner-6538-big-crown/ It looks VERY similar to NDT's and Minh's offerings: http://ndtradingcorp.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=259

I want to swap out the rolex dial in my James bond Rolex sub 6205 with a tudor dial. I'd also like to replace the bezel with an aftermarket one (still debating on whether I want a blue bezel or 'red triangle' bezel). I have collected a series of links (the first 2 being what I'd like it to look like after the swap/s + dial/hands aging, and the below are the possible insert and dial 'donors'). Would the dial & bezel fit on this? Also, which dealer should I contact to JUST get the dial from? Mary (watches international)? What I'd like it to look like: http://www.tudorcollector.com/index....&id=9&Itemid=4 or http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t...8/2xredt-1.jpg The watch: http://www.perfectxclones.com/p6676/...duct_info.html The possible dial: http://puretime.co/product/vintage-t...ume-dial-a21j/ The possible bezel/s: http://www.classicwatchparts.com/cat...cntr3uukrrppu2 or http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bond-Submari...#ht_1383wt_759
