Hello, I'm Steve, I'm back. The end of the last air king comparison , we can not return to the ground for the time being , after all , the yellow lightning in the starry sky is still waiting for us , Milgauss as Rolex's super anti-magnetic models , its unique green crystal and lightning seconds hand for everyone to know , in addition to the impression of Rolex seldom have the presence of the element of orange , but individually endowed with the Milgauss this eye-catching color embellishments , which makes Milgauss look even more unique . This makes the Milgauss even more unique. For the replica, although we do not have Gen's super strong anti-magnetic ability, but its appearance is still favored by many friends, so today let's look at which lightning flash is the most shining. It is easy to get thirsty when I talk too much crap. Let's get started. Dial front view Natual Light View Light View When I first got all the watches, I realized it was a sad comparison. Thankfully the Milgauss also has a black dial, which is something I had considered before I started the preparations. After all, there is no color difference in the black dial, so why don't we see how big the color difference in the blue really is . And this is the most comprehensive exterior comparison since the comparison work began,It is also intended to give you a comprehensive view of the visual effects of lightning in different angles of the environment. The differences are still clear, and I'm tired of shooting, so I will leave the comments to you guys ,LOL. Bezel View There is no intuitive problem with the shape of the bezel, but BP is a little narrower on the side and has too much clearance from the case, and I'm curious because GM and BP claim to be the same factory on many models, just with different steels, but every time I compare them there is still a slight difference between the two. In addition, we can zoom in on Figure 1 to see that there is a clear cross-section of Gen transitioning from the front of the bezel to the side, a detail apparently overlooked by all three factories. The good news is that to the naked eye, this is not a problem. Crystal Side View The Gen crystal are green both inside and outside, the outer side of AR in this view is green, but the colour is not obvious, and if you adjust the angle of view it is sometimes transparent, whereas the Gen crystal are green no matter what the angle of view, and the outer side of the GM and BP are completely transparent. Crown and Stick View AR factory should not be updated for many years, the shape of the crown is still the same as it was many years ago, the lower edge of the mouth is too rounded, and the corners of the stick are not polished, obviously GM and BP are better in this regard. Luminous Fill View All the factories have a certain graininess, in addition we can look at the border of the large stick, probably caused by the lack of rounding, AR seems a little too wide. GM and BP are a little better. Oil font view In orange, AR has better colour control, GM and BP are a bit darker, but AR's 'ROLEX' lettering is a bit flawed, it is too thin and the closing feet are a bit long. Second hand view As with the fonts, again the AR colours are closer to Gen, with GM and BP still a little on the darker side. Middle Axis View AR uses a solid Middle Axis , but it is hidden a bit deep, GM and BP are both hollow. The centre sleeves are all pretty much the same, no winners or losers. Side Rehaut View Comparatively speaking, AR's Rehaut are superior, with better sculpted shapes and clarity than the GM and BP, whose fonts are both too short. Crown Side View The teeth are all slightly chamfered, and like Gen, they feel slightly cut to the touch. Case Side View The side shapes are all fine, regarding the engraving, AR does a great job, clear and clean , GM and BP are a little less so, the position is a little off. In addition, the engraved code for the BP is 126900, guessing that there may not have been enough of the corresponding case to go around, so an Air King case was used for assembly. Endlink Side View AR is closer on the inside, whereas for the outside, GM and BP look and feel better, with the AR gaping a little too wide. Caseback View In terms of the regularity and placement of the print, AR is better, GM is unevenly glossy when zoomed in, and the placement of BP is slightly more random. Also GM and BP have an extra 2380 engraving on the back. View of the antimagnetic cover. After opening the back cover, Gen is also covered with an anti-magnetic cover, although it is hidden inside, the three factories did not neglect this accessory, only the replicas does not have the Gen's anti-magnetic effect, but AR is more attentive, and is equipped with a waterproof gasket on the outer edge, just like the Gen. Bracelet Details View Lume View In dark environments, the graininess presented by the Lumes is very bright. The colour of AR is a bit bluish in the picture comparison, well it is not noticeable in the actual comparison . Movement View AR is equipped with the A2836 movement, which has a vacant calendar slot. Currently not available for AR's version of the A3131 movement. GM and BP are both movement A3131 and are also available as movement A2836. Data Comparison View Note: All measurements are in a clamped state, and there may be tolerance due to slight deviations in the position of the caliper. All protective films on steel strap of replicas are not torn off. In addition, Gen intercepted three sections of the Bracelet. Well, this is today’s post, thank you guys for watching, if there are any mistakes, please correct me. If there is anything else I overlooked, you can put it up, and I will try my best to do it complementary and comprehensive, welcome to comment and exchange! I will continue to bring you more detailed comparisons between replicas and GEN, which is for you guys to better choose your favorite replicas. (Note: Some photos deviate from the real object due to the angle of the light. The details are mainly written in text. The size of the comparison picture is relatively large. You can download it and enlarge it for comparison.) There is no perfect replica, only the one you prefer. Just wanted to fire up a thread on a 6541 Milgauss build as I get started with it and progress through it. Wanted to share some initial QC pics of the dial and case, etc. Literally all the components of the build is en route to me and needed parts start showing up first thing next week... (Some inspiration for the build:) Dammit Slay... A genuine 6541 Milgauss is an extremely rare bird indeed with auction estimated well into the six figures if and when they even do pop up on the auction block. Accordingly, a 6541 build of your own can get EXTREMELY expensive. Maybe not a quarter mil like a gen, but still... There are few case options out there for vintage Milgauss builds and what is out there is pricey. More with this build than some others perhaps, but the case, as much as the dial, makes or breaks this project. The case is especially important because of the unique internal construction of its Farraday cage shielding the movement from potentially harmful magnetic fields. Aside from the frankly terrible budget (Cartel?) out-of-the-box versions of the 6541 that are floating around, you're left with what appears to be pretty much just two (albeit two very good) case set options: Phong or MQ. And if you've ever looked into the case prices of either, you start to understand why so few people endeavor upon these builds - Minh Q's case comes in at around $1250 and Phong's around $1800(!) iirc. So before you even start looking for dials you're already in the hole for over a grover. Damn... Now, I'm not one to skimp on my builds, but this was already staring to look like a money pit even if this is essentially a mid-shelf "budget" version of a Milgauss build LOL. So I put the idea of the build on the back burner for a while and turned my attention back to the gen-dialed 1016 build I'm working on. That is until I saw Slay's sales post with his absolutely STUNNING 6541 franken build. Slay spared no expense, MQ case and dial, gen 1030 movement, gen hands, the works... My jaw hit the ground. It was damn near perfect and now I had to build one. So I re-started my search and began weighing my case and dial options in earnest once again. Dial As luck would have it, a "new" guy had popped up on Instagram about 6 months ago peddling high end rep dials and a few cases, Tonnywatches. I started following him and was pretty impressed with the quality of the dials he was posting; "Vietnam" dials that were, to my eye anyways, on par with or very close in quality (maybe even the same?) to the dials Minh Q offers (some of the better aftermarket dials for many builds imho), but at less than half the price in some instances. I'm always weary of new sellers (who isn't, right?) but his 6541 dial looked an awful lot like MQ's and it cost about 40% of what the MQ dial costs so I said what the hell and pulled the trigger and purchased one. Looks pretty good to me; the coroner is so-so, but I have a gen white gold dial coronet to replace that one, and I'm might give those lume plots a very understated aging/re-lume. Love the fade on the reddish-pink Milgauss text and the SCOC printing/spacing looks pretty good compared to reference photos of gen dials. Certainly not "perfect" in any sense of the word, but pretty good all things considered and again looks almost identical to the $750 MQ dial. The printing is a little heavy handed and they didn't get the "crippled" R in Perpetual right amongst other minute details, but you really can't beat it for the price. Hands Only one really strong option imho for the 6541's characteristic thunderbolt seconds hand and that's Michael Young at CWP. Looks great and it's long enough to extend into the dial's minute track as per gen. The hour and minute hands, however, are the leaf-shaped hand type with the lume and I want to fit a set of the no lume all-metal "leaf" hands that were also fitted to the 6541. Luckily for me, Offrei offers the near-exact same style hands in an array of sizes and fit for ETA so they'll be compatible with my movement choice and I can get the lengths just right (like a 12.5-13mm minute hand extending into the track like the seconds hand). I'm going to remove the red paint from the thunderbolt tip and age the hands with some sulfur, acids, and some light abrasives. The below reference photo of a gen shows the style, length and aging of the hands I'm going for: Since I'm using an ETA movement (more on that in a minute) I won't have to broach the hands either (which I have an atrocious track record with). Might have been the easiest sourcing yet: a quick email exchange with Michael, payment sent and hands on their way in a matter of days. Ordered a spattering of differently sized and shaped leaf hands from Offrei. They were so cheap I was able to buy enough that I'll be able to make sure I get the aged look correct and possibly file down a larger sizes minute hand to match the length of the CWP thunderbolt. Case When I was going back and forth with Tonny about the dial, I happened to dig a little bit deeper into his Instagram and saw that he actually had a 6541 case set he was offering mixed in amongst the photos of his various small crown, big crown, etc. cases. It looked pretty good in the photo he posted and I already had some experience with one of his 5508 case sets that I had purchased for a friend of mine, so I knew the quality was pretty good and that, generally speaking, his cases were pretty gen-spec. For sure, some modifications would have to be done (lug bevels need some tlc for instance), but again the price was right especially considering the case construction had the correct Farraday cage that is central to getting this build right. All said, case set and dial would cost me less than half of what just a Phong case set would've cost me. So again, I pulled the trigger and asked Tonny for some quick QC pics before making my purchase: (Photo from Tonnywatches Instagram:) (QC photos:) You get the idea... Pretty good if you ask me, but still much work to be done. The dial/cage construction is correct and I'm comfortable re-doing the perlage on the Farraday cage back. The only thing not pictures (which is, in fact, included with the case) is the cross-shaped metal tension "spring" that seats into the inside of the case back and keeps the cage snugly sandwiched together around the movement protecting it from magnetic field variations (well, in theory anyways haha). Other than that, I'll weigh my options on having the mid case re-shaped/thinned and maybe re-do the lug bevels. Should make a good base though for sure... Bezel, Insert, Crown, etc. Some of the finer details of the case set have yet to be seen since I'm still waiting on it to show up from Tonny, but there are some modifications that are inevitable: Gen crown is an easy one,; already have a few various 6mm gen crowns in the parts drawer and a gen 602 tube which are way less problematic than installing a 600 tube which would have been "more" correct for a 6541. No question, a 602 would've been installed during a service however, and requires no broaching/modification prior to install. I picked up a gen T-16 beveled service crystal, and as luck would have it, also happen to have an aftermarket domed T-16 from Phong sitting gathering dust. I love the look of the Milgauss with its domed crystal, but much prefer the practicality of the lower-profile beveled service so it'll be nice to have both should I ever decide to switch between one or the other. The insert that comes with the Tonny case is suspect and I had already acquired a Phong 6541 insert before I got the case, so I'm going to give the Tonny insert some heavy aging for a more worn-in/beat up look for the watch should I ever want it. The Phong insert is pretty spot on; the only thing I might do to it is bleach out the red triangle a little bit and give it a good fade. The bezel ring looks pretty suspect in the QC pictures as well, but I'll have to wait to have it in hand before I can see if it's up to snuff with the shape of the coin edge or if I'll be able to properly age it to give it an older, polished worn-in look. Tonny assured me its plates brass so I'll be able to sand/age/tarnish/polish the bezel and take it down to the brass in what I feel is a more appropriate look for a half-century old watch. If the bezel construction or shape isn't good enough however, I'll just buy one from MQ as I feel his is just a tiny bit better than the one Phong offers and both are pretty solid stand-ins for the genuine article. Yet again neither option is cheap (see a theme developing here?), so I'm hoping the Tonny bezel passes muster. The case should be here in a week so I'll know for certain then. The engravings also look a little iffy in the QC photos, and if they're too are not good enough then hopefully I can send the mid and back to JMB to be re-done. Plenty of bracelet options as I've got both an NDT and Yuki 7206 waiting in the wings and picked up this really nice NOS StyleCraft 20mm tropic rubber strap that I think will look good on either my 1016 or the 6541 for a more subdued look that's still somewhat substantial and fitting for the era of the watch to a certain degree: Movement As you can see, I've already got a decent amount invested into this build, and as nice as it might be to put a cal. 1030 into a build like this, it just doesn't seem all that practical to me because: a) the Farraday cage covers the movement so you don't see it, b ) sourcing parts and servicing a 1030 movement is becoming increasingly difficult and cost prohibitive, and c) I plan on wearing this watch. A lot. And the ETA 2782 I'm using is far more rough & tumble-ready than the 1030. I found a brand new NOS watch with a 2782 that had been sitting untouched and unused in storage for the last few decades. It's in really great shape, and after a good cleaning and oiling, will run like a dream. The 2782 has a nice low beat rate, good stem height, good canon pinion height, and the same Kif shock absorbers Rolex would later use in its 1500-series movements so it should be able to handle a fair amount of wear and tear. I got a Yuki 1030 ETA movement ring to make it fit in the case correctly, and one of the only internal modifications I'll need to do is notch out the middle ring of the Farraday cage so the movement clamps can seat the movement in the case properly. The Farraday cage is 3 parts: the interior case back, the middle ring section with a small opening for the winding stem, and the dial (the bottom side of which "completes" the cage by capping over the movement and lining up flush with the middle ring section. Like the Phong dial and cage, the dial has no feet so as long as I can get the cage pieces to line up properly and get the movement with the Yuki adapter seated firmly in the cage install should be relatively painless. All things considered, once I have all the pieces in front of me the assembly will go rather quickly hopefully. I'll update this thread as o go along with each part of the build so hopefully I can glean some insight from others and maybe be the "guinea pig" with one of these Tonny cases (and dial for that matter). Stay tuned...

I've just never been able to feel the love for polished center links. Here's my Milgauss GV with a new brush job. I also brushed the case and bezel and it's more to my liking. Genuine green sapphire and Swiss ETA 2836 time to COSC standards.

Recently completed Milgauss with genuine crystal and Swiss ETA 2836-2. The rep crystal is pretty nice with its AR coating, but it can't compare to the gen crystal. Rolex has this to say about its green sapphire: "Green sapphire crystal - A unique watch crystal in green sapphire developed in 2007 by Rolex. Scratchproof, fade-proof and available exclusively on the Milgauss. Its light green shade, tinted throughout the entire crystal, turns nearly luminescent at the bevelled edges. The result of a secret process that required years of development to master and takes weeks to produce. Not patented, as it is so difficult to make that no one else would even venture to try." So that's the reason the replica makers have not released a green sapphire crystal. What's interesting about the genuine crystal is that green only appears at certain angles and in certain lighting. The photos might make it look like you're walking around with a luminescent green circle on your wrist, but that's not the case. It looks quite normal until the light catches it just right and you get a brief and brilliant flash of color. Fascinating!

I'm considering Trusty's vintage Milgauss ref 1019. I've been researching by looking online at Gens. Its no easy task, however. For one, it seems like there are multiple dials. Same silver dial and colors but different font widths and sizes. In addition, Trusty's Quality shots seem to have different font sizes than the website posting. You all have more experience and a more trained eye. What are your thoughts on this rep vs the gen? http://imgur.com/a/76e9a http://www.ttw8488.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_103&products_id=623

Hey everyone, I wanted to start by saying how grateful I was to find this forum and the wealth of information it holds. Over the years I've collected a few reps along side a few gens and it was very much so a solo experience. My previous job has me traveling to Asia with somewhat frequency, so I would just purchase a handful of quality reps there and bring them back for myself and friends. Since changing roles, my travel has stopped and I needed a way to find quality products with real reviews., I spent some time googling and never felt comfortable purchasing online as I assumed the worst as far as quality. Well, that has changed after finding this site! I've ben searching for a Milgauss for some time and thanks to the reviews I was able to see for Trusty Time, I went ahead and purchased one! It should be arriving shortly and I'll definitely be doing a review once received. Alright, that being said. I need some help! Previously there was an older gentleman that ran a small watch shop that would do work on reps. A few years back, he closed and since I haven't had the need for any service. A few things I've read so far seem to imply I should be taking the watch I receive in for service almost immediately to ensure it's oiled and working properly. Is that accurate? If so, what type of service should I be looking for? That's only one part of the problem. Additionally, I am not sure the best way to go about finding someone in my town who will work on reps. Is there a good way to understand who will and won't without flat out asking? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

High Everyone, I'm glad I found this forum, I've already learned a lot by reading your posts. I'm looking at buying a Rolex Milgauss from Andrew at Trusty. I found him through reading posts on here btw. Anyhow, I'm looking for advice on which movement to select. There are three options. An 2813 Asian movement for $168, an 2836 Asian movement upgraded to look like Rolex movement for 258, and a 2836 Swiss ETA movement where, according to Andrew, the rotor and bridge are replaced with asian parts to look like Rolex parts and it costs $348. I really don't care about what the watch looks like inside, I'm concerned with reliability and being able to have it serviced. Does anyone here bought any of these milgauss models and have any thoughts? Any recommendations on the movemenet? Thanks in advance for your help everyone! -Chad

Checking the new arrivals on Pure Time today, as I normally do about a 100 times a week, and I saw that JF has come out with a Milgauss GV. Also it happens to about $80 more than the noob version introduced just a couple of months back. The noob version is fairly high on my list right now, but with the JF curve thrown in, not sure which to get. Any thoughts from the Rollie experts on this? Right. So what I've established in less than 24hrs on this marvellous website is that some of the best and recommended Rep. Watch Sites & Sellers who comment and effectively advertise here are playing games. Make no mistake, I would very much like a top quality Rep. Rolex and am prepared to pay for it too in the proper sense, but what I am not prepared to do is to be hoodwinked. All I am trying to establish here from anybody including the obvious sellers and any so-called self-proclaiming 'independent' buyers and recommenders, is that the watches I'm interested in are GENUINE REPS OF THE QUALITY IN THE VIDEOS I LINK TO AGAIN HERE : p-cls.com/rlm00008-milguass-green-sapphire-swiss-283631-p-12835.html ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_237&products_id=10003&zenid=2cb18314cc62e39839ef647d052b1aa6 Please stop taking 'us Westerners' ALL for complete fools, will you, and just fess up - are the watches in these videos REAL REPS or are they in fact the genuine Rolex 'things'?! Quite simple. So, who's up for a bit of honesty and making a clean and good sale - and before anybody replies, please read my posting and think carefully beforehand because the one thing that will prevent me buying is lack of honesty, yes - even in the Rep. business it requires honesty, okay. Likewise, before any smart a45es respond 'well, get a gen, then' - that's not the point and not what is required for the purpose I intend, which is my business, not yours. Yes, I appreciate this is not a sales site but raising that also avoids the issues that I raise. No offence intended to anybody who is genuinely being, well ...perfectly upfront and straightforward... After all, that's all I'm doing too - being honest and straightforward and hoping to find a like-minded straightforward Rep. Dealer. I hope that is now clear. Kind Rgds

Hey everyone! Watcheden.net is having a clearance on a Rolex Milgauss. I'm interested in getting one but I'm just curious about the errors the watch have compared to the original. Here's the link at the bottom and I hope all these Rolex experts may share their opinion. http://www.watcheden.net/rolex-milgauss-automatic-with-tinted-green-sapphire-same-structure-as-eta-version-new-version-39mm-3-i-24756-p-1.html

I've been considering the purchase of a Milgauss with green sapphire crystal. I've come down to 2 sellers: Perfect Clones and Lawrence Watch.info They both sell a Milgauss GS version with a Rolex caliber 3131 copy with roughly $100 difference in price. I need help from you experts, since this would be my first rep purchase, in finding out if it's the same watch they both sell or there are any differences and if, which one is eventually better and worth the extra $$$. Here are the links: Lawrence Watch.info http://www.greatasia3368.com/rolex/milgauss/rolexmilgaussswiss_005.htm Perfect Clones http://www.p-cls.com/rlm00008-milguass-green-sapphire-swiss-283631-p-12835.html Thank you so much for your help and knowledge. Hi, I am looking at getting a top quality Rep. Milgauss or DeepSea and have come across two great looking companies. However, their videos of the particular Milgauss I'd like look very similar to me, one is Swiss ETA. Can somebody advise me please if this is correct and 'normal', the sharing of videos in such circumstances, if indeed this is what has happened here? Or perhaps I'm wrong, it has been known on occasions. I understand that I cannot post links at the moment, so as best as I can do before Crew can assist possibly, are as follows : p-cls.com/rlm00008-milguass-green-sapphire-swiss-283631-p-12835.html ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_237&products_id=10003&zenid=2cb18314cc62e39839ef647d052b1aa6 I do not want to cause any issues anywhere but would just like clarification. Hey there, I'm looking to purchase a brand new Rolex Milgauss, one of the black with green tint ones. I am looking for a very high quality rep that feels and weighs the same as the original. I need this watch to last a long time and resemble the original as closely as possible. The highest I'd like to pay is $180 and I can only pay with PayPal. If any of you know where I could pick one up, that would be great. Thanks, Henry

Hi! I would like to buy a Milgauss black dial or explorer 2 black latest and best version and I have a question: both the gen watches have matte black dial, does the rep have it? If you have also other advices please tell me

To split up the shipping fees with my SD order I decided to take a Milgauss with simple DG2813 with it. From first communication and payment on March 4th to delivery there were passing 15 days even with UK transshipment and repacking. Unfortunately there were no QC pics shipped and also when asking for tracking this was promised but I never recieved any tracking code. The watches arrived well packaged and the first inspection showed flawless optics on the Milgauss. To comapre accuracy with the gen I took the following measurements: ~ Width (10 o'clock to 4 o'clock): 41.22mm ~ Width w/o crown: 39.99mm ~ Width including crown: 43.27mm ~ Length: 48.98mm ~ Bezel width: 39.22mm ~ Crystal/Dial width: 32.21mm ~ Crown width: 6.89mm ~ Thickness: 14.00mm ~ Bracelet link thickness: 3.21mm to 2.82mm at the clasp ~ Bracelet width: 20mm to 15.72mm at the clasp ~ Weight on bracelet w/ all links: 153,5 grams From the appearance the clear crystal / black dial version is a spot on copy which partly comes from the absence of the annoying etched coronet other reps have in the crystal. Taking a magnifying glass for closer inspection shows a nice smooth dial with correct printing and well positioned markers. Just the lume in the markers is not applied with precision, so that it's uneven or partly covering marker edges. The rehaut engraving looks nice and is quite well positioned and spaced. It's just 1/4 minute off which will only be spotted with magnification. Opening the caseback shows that even in this lower pricerange the correct double caseback which in the gen helps shielding magnetic fields is present. The interior is clean and doesn't call for an immediate cleaning service. As usual screws in the bracelet are not fixed well so tightening is needed on some of them. The cutouts of the SEL endlinks are not very well done, but this is a usual finding even in higher priceranges. The timeholding was ok for the simple movement - without any timing efforts -12.5 seconds/day. Dee

I will be purchasing my first replica (a Milgauss with green sapphire), and have two questions: 1) Which is the best choice: Asia 3131 or the Swiss ETA 2836-2 automatic mvt (gold mvt only) They are the same price. 2) On Josh's site, is the rlm00088 from the 'noob factory'? (i heard that Milgauss's from the 'noob factory' are the best replicas). Thanks.

Hey Guys and Gals, New to the forums here. My pops just got back from Thailand and brought me back some watches. Here is one of them, the Rolex Milgauss GV rep. Let me know what you guys think and how he did. Not bad for $50 is my guess! -Dan

I’ve been meaning to upload a post for some time; to say thanks to everyone who has contributed to this fab site which gave me the insight and confidence that I needed to make my first purchase (pictured) from Joshua: I went for the Milgauss with Swiss ETA 2836 movement, and it’s a beauty; perfect in every way; exactly as described; couldn’t be happier. I’ll upload some more photo’s soon, inc some of a recent trip I made to the Zenith factory in Le Locle (Switzerland). In the meantime, can anyone recommend a UK watchmaker (to service my Milgauss rep)?
