Thor Posted March 20, 2006 Report Share Posted March 20, 2006 Page 1: ADDITION: As some of you know, Steve and I got together for dinner at a local Mexican restaurant and during the conversation, we revisited the idea of a pass around watch. Long story short, before we left the restaurant, I thought of it again, and we decided that my SeaNaster would be up to the task. So, back to our story in progress... Some of you are aware of the "Unofficial Official RWG Pass Around Watch", which was an idea originally presented to the board by our friend Chilidog, and one that was put into motion by myself and Esmarc (aka Crockett & Tubbs). Well, we are obviously all wodering what happened to RWG, but in the interim, we don't want the PAW to be forgotten... Therefore, we are officially renaming it the "Offically Unofficial Pass Around Watch". No more RWG in the title. Furthermore, our intent was not to exclude any of the other sites and boards, we just started it there, so we ran with the name. We don't care if there are posts on TRC, WT, or wherever. As long as the watch acheives Rock Star status, all is good. The watch in question is a nice stainless SeaNaster originally from Adam (chinatown). Great watch, and one that sholuld be, um, under the radar, brandwise... So we are all up to speed: The caretaker of the watch should keep it for as little time as possible, but long enough to get some good photos and post a few of it's travels. It's not necessary to visit the seven wonders of the world, just show the watch some good times and call it good... International travel is good. The next recipient should be the one to announce his/her receipt of the watch to the boards. Just PM or email for his/her shipping information and let her fly... Shipping should be by trackable express service. Just to keep the thread from getting stale. Anything other than this, I/we can add later. I hope it becomes a new tradition, and something we can enjoy for years to come. I will check up on this post later today to add any new thoughts or recommendations... Let's have fun with it... Trunk21 Just a thought carried over from RWG, this watch should travel to all in each country before moving on, cut's down on customs passes and also cut's down on 'In Transit' time. Ken Didn't somebody mention a PAWG(pass around watch girl) as a community service of course?? Yeah, I think Esmarc was working on the girl thing with another member. Personal delivery service or something like that... I'm in..How do I get my name on the list? For the PAW or the PAWG?? Seriously this is a good idea.....I can't wait to see the updates when this starts taking place! We were part of a pass-around a few years back, and it was a lot of fun. We all got to see everybody's part of the country, and got to put some faces with the names we'd been talking to all that time. After the journey's end, the board put up a page, with a pictorial coverage of the critter's journey, in the order it travelled. Just a few pics from each stop, since there were about 24, 26 stops for it, and it made a really nice display. If you need a stop in the mid-west, we're in Ohio, about an hour and change from both Cleveland and Pittsburgh. If anyone else is reasonable driving time to either, or can find a half way point that's half close, a personal pass-a-long makes an interesting set of pics too. It's a really good idea, and hope it can be worked out. Brian If you need pics of the Rocky Mountains and the Mile High City(Denver, CO) you can send it my way. Esmarc the UPS guy stopped at my house today..... this IS the PAW, and it has travelled from Cali to sunny Florida, where its was 80f today.....just had to throw that out there for you guys who still for whatever reason choose to live where its COLD!!!! anyway, i open the box to find this..... ....its a beauty, im honored to be hosting it for a week or so, im very busy with work and a baby on the way but i will try to take it and show it around, and where will it end up next? i dont know either, i will entertain suggestions via PM and i would ask that you limit your suggestion to A) someone other than yourself who is obviously a known and contributing member of RWG, TRC, and/or WT, and B ) someone in the US, not because the PAW wont be travelling abroad but rather because it can make a few stops here before its sent on its world tour... thanks to all involved for letting me be a host..... Esmarc C'mon guys i need a suggestion from somebody (maybe more) of someone to pass it to, there really isnt much policy on this (like rules) but its been suggested the watch make another stop or two in the US, i personally would like to hear a refferal from someone of another member (even if you dont know them) that you think worthy..... i would also like that person to be somebody "known" as in a contributing member, i dont mean "VIP" i mean someone who posts here or RWG or WT..... please PM me, i have gotten "0" PMs on this.... im very busy with work so i havent taken PAW on a date yet.... and my wife thinks were all crazy too... Opened the package up anlong with two others that came which had a total of 6 watches in all. Got three beauties from Narikaa, and two from Joshua. So the PAW got a little neglected But I did manage to do some resizing and took it out with me when I went to Circuit City to pick up a new TV. I did swing by the local HD plant and snapped a pic. Hopefully work wont keep me too busy this week and I can take the watch on some more adventures and snap some cool pics. nice! :thumbup: Congrat's and show her a good time :cheers: Ken Love your signature videos, now just get a pic of the PAW on Jessica Alba's booty and you're the man! More to come............... You guys are crazy. I like the idea though. After PAW's travels in Europe, hopefully I'll know you guys enough to be trusted with our traveler. I should be sitting with my Rolex President on to mark the occasion, but unfortunately I have a USPS delivery attempt notification instead. I'll have to wait until the morning to pick that baby up. Maverick Posted May 12, 2006 Report Share Posted May 12, 2006 The PAW landed in Chicago a few days ago and I have been waiting for a nice day to take her out on the town. Well today was the day. First stop Illinois Harley to pick up a new turn signal lens. That’s her riding [censored]. After we got the lens installed we headed downtown. Stopped at Buckingham Fountain, where we had a little run in with a cop who did not appreciate me stopping in a no parking zone to take pictures. The cop was not impressed with my story about the PAW traveling the world, and declined my offer to take his picture with the PAW. So we packed up and headed off north on Lake Shore Drive. Took a little detour to check ou North Avenue Beach. The PAW took a rest. That's the John Hanc0ck Building behind her. Next we stopped at Belmont Harbour to check out the boats. Most of you probably did not know that the PAW is a big Cubs fan. We had to visit Wrigley Field. that's her sitting on the saddle bag Our last stop before heading home was Ed Debevic's for a little snack. Here we are back home safe and sound. (actually I took this picture before leaving home [notice the time], but you get the idea) So now the Paw is ready for her next adventure. Stay tuned and see where she ends up next. While we all agree that life can get in the way of this little hobby, it's also MUY IMPORTANTE to keep the PAW moving through the community without hitch...
