ken fingerlove
My current black leather Diesel wallet from around 1997 is beginning to give up the ghost. I've been looking around for something but I can't find anything that really takes my fancy? Anyone got a recommendation? Looking for bifold, material not important, but vintage look brown leather would appeal. Anything up to
redwatch
My girlfriend bought me this for my birthday last year and I love it. That was, until I found out what she paid for it! It's still a great wallet, but way over priced. I have seen a rep of this for around $35 - $50 USD
fcaap_dan
I'm thinking about getting one of these: http://www.nstarleather.com/optimizer/product/136.html But I don't like how the center pocket opens to the side (mine currently opens at the top). I don't use the chain, but I do use the grommet as a keyring for my house key and spare car key.
docblackrock
Vintage-look brown leather you say? You should be able to get a smart but retro Ted Baker or another Diesel for £50 or so. If you want something a bit more funky, you can get the ubiquitous Paul Smith (with Vargas nudey illustrations) for under a ton. Also look at Simon Carter's offerings - even saw one last year with a lining print of vintage watches/clocks, very apt Alternatively, if you want classic and elegant, then within that budget, have a look at Aspinal's. Zero_G
Just thought I may weigh in on this one. I ended up getting a coach wallet at one of the local outlets for $45 dollars. Its very recognizable with out being over the top. It's a classic brown that wears well, it has the coach "signature" cloth on the inside. Typically younger girls notice it and respond well, and the more mature crowd sees it as a show of force with out being too much to believe. More often than not, all style and no class gets you no where fast. Cheers, Chad
trailboss
Both Bergies and WBK have great rep wallets. For my review of one of WBK's look HERE. Col.
jfreeman420
I don't mess with rep wallets anymore. I bought a genuine MCM wallet with the money clip inside on ebay for $100.00. I used that for several years. My latest wallet is a genuine Gucci Guccisima bifold clip wallet. It cost $205 from Neiman Marcus. Genuine high end leather goods are made to last. It is more economical to buy quality of something that takes a beating like a wallet. I have become partial to the bifold wallet without any compartment for money. Instead it has six slots for cards and a clip for currency. These stay nice and thin and don't alo me to stuff all sorts of receipts in there to make it 6 inches thick. jchurch
I thought about getting a wallet again but I never use them when I get one. I typically just keep my cash all rolled up. The Paul Smith ones look kind of nice but I don't know how well a rep wallet would hold up being used all the time.
ken fingerlove
Nice roll, Jchurch. The Aspinall ones look good - but that Gucci money clip idea is great for forcing you to stay clutter free... I'd try it if it wasn't a
sul
Best wallet what I ever had/ have at the moment is for BMW saloon. BMW wallet, it is not brown and not vintage. It`s black but high quality nice looking, definitely better then some rep "brand" wallet`s. And it cost around 120-140usd. Not bad. Take a tour in your local BMW dealer shop. NORing
This is by far the best wallet in the world!!! I've had one now for 3 years and it still looks like new. It's made for creditcards and papermoney. 2 most used cards on the outside that you flip out with your fingers and the rest when you flip open. It's supposed to hold 7 cards, but I keep 12-13 cards in it, lottery tickets and cash. (However it's more functional with only 7 cards and cash.) I just now found it was a norwegian brand. But if anyone is tempted, I could buy some with RWG engravings on the leather and ship out. Probably need a fair amount of people that want it for that though. Check out the website: http://exentri.no/en_Default.aspx For direct buy (without cool RWG logo) goto: http://exentri.no/Products.aspx NORing Edited September 10, 2009 by NORing
ken fingerlove
Thanks for all the replies. I eventually have ordered a Braun Buffel (means brown buffalo in German, I suppose) 8 card money clip wallet. Tan leather - has all the features I want, plus an external single card slot. Cost around 50 sterlings. There was a handmade version of the same wallet for twice the price, but it didn't look enough better. I'll post a photo when it arrives. Pugwash
I have a Dainese wallet with hardly any branding on it. It's black leather and it holds everything I need. Simplicity yet quality without being overstated. Non-bikers won't even recognise the brand.
ken fingerlove
I'll post a photo when it arrives. As promised - this photo is much redder than the wallet in reality, there must be something wrong with my colour balance. It's great for keeping tidy - there is no simple place to stuff all those receipts, so they get put somewhere more sensible.

Ben
J Fold will be my next wallet! check out their designs at http://www.jfold.com/ my favorite design is the Purple V Twelve Leather Wallet which im thinking of getting from: http://www.kjbeckett.com/acatalog/purple-v-twelve-leather-wallet-j-fold.html My only worry is that the wallets are made in america, and are probably too small of the £20 notes in England.... not something i thought of when i bought my current wallet in America.... so you might want to check the dimensions Ben
Ben
just had another look at wallets, and found these beauties that manage to say 'bad motha' fu*ker' without the need to stamp it across the front http://www.productdose.com/article.php?article_id=4093 and two more here that are nice http://www.ebags.com/hurley/brinx_bifold_wallet/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=108347 http://www.ebags.com/royce_leather/mens_two_fold_with_double_id_flap_metro_collection/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=72180
