statikman Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Looks perfect. Can anyone spot a flaw? Genuine
statikman Posted March 20, 2006 Author Report Posted March 20, 2006 Andrew's replica, maybe the markers on the bezel are slightly too thick...maybe.
SF_Mike Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 (edited) Looks like the He Valve might be low again, but it's tough to tell at that angle. Also, it looks like this one is missing the Planet Ocean engraving on the clasp. In addition to this, one thing that keeps showing up on all of these is the bezel cut, looks more like a Rolex than the PO (look at the shape of the teeth). Here's a comparison to see it better. Even with all of these issues, I think I will still get one. I love the 45mm size, and Andrew always provides great service. Edited March 20, 2006 by Mike
bigpops Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 I just had a quick look at this, and at first glance i see: Bracelet is not curved Clasp is missing (as usual) PLANET OCEAN engraving The orange/black around the triangle piont (where the pearl is) is missing the case back looks like it has a stuck on plate, rather than being engraved. All that said, i'll probably buy a black one, if they keep cropping up. I've just ordered Andrew's 42.5mm ETA one, in Orange, so I can't buy one now sadly.

tallkenny Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 I've ordered a black one, looking forward to it
rbj69 Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 his 4th generation is more accurate imho, but if u were looking for a 45mm one this isnt bad for a 120 bucks
r11co Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Wow! ALMOST my Holy Grail. I've been looking for this spec with a black rubber strap for ages now.
jonthebhoy Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Looks perfect. Can anyone spot a flaw? Yep...........It isn't on my wrist! JTB

Meant to add earlier - the scalloping on the bezel is different from 42.5mm to 45mm versions. Neil pointed this out in a thread in 'the other' forum. Andrew had an Omega Apnea about a year ago with a VERY NICE black rubber strap. I bet he could make a PO for you with that strap. Give him an email. I have already Edited March 20, 2006 by r11co
triplehd Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Still waiting to see Andrew's Black PO 4th Gen as well as Neil's 5th Gen POs (the 45s). Like Joe said - for $120, can't go wrong. I recommend to get the black rubber straps, especially if you order the black version. I have River's black PO with the black rubber straps which I like better than the usual steel bracelet. Also, I think it looks better with the straps - just my 2 cents
miquel Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 (edited) Is 45mm the correct size for a PO? I have seen 42.5mm and 40mm both mentioned as well. Or is it personal preference? Edited March 20, 2006 by miquel

miquel Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Alright, I just couldn't handle this anymore. After many emails to Andrew, I pulled the trigger and purchased one. Now I too can be like the new James Bond and frolic in the Baham...I mean my office! Pics to follow when it comes.

I thought we had the Seanaster issue nipped in the bud with the predecessor to that watch. Seems like it is back, and that clasp engraving looks lazer etched rather than the machine engraving of the previous model too. Damn shame..
tallkenny Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 My black one arrived today, looks good, trying to find my camera.....
miquel Posted March 27, 2006 Report Posted March 27, 2006 I need you to take pics to tide me over until mine comes...

The photos I've taken are pants... Digit below the 6 is a bit on the squint side, glass not the clearest? maybe some sort of coating?, reflection of the silver hands omega logo on the top of the glass?(I'm new to this game!) apart from that it is superb

rapidascent Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 I could not wait and ordered a black bezel 45m on Sunday from Trusty. It should be interesting and I hope the bracelet is not as sharp as my 42 orange bezel from TTK. Any tips on rounding the edges, File, sandpaper? Cheers
gdaddy Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 I just got my black 45mm from Andrew yesterday. It is a very nice watch, but there are some of the same errors on it as there were on the gen 1,2,3, etc. The He valve is straight on at 10 o'clock. The logo on the back of the case is a pasted foil, not engraved. The back of the case is poorly finished and looks like it wasn't buffed at all. But the biggest difference is that the crystal is not anti-reflective. That, in my opinion, is the most easily recognized error and is pretty much a dead give away to someone who has spent any time studying the gen. The bracelet is fine, except that it is either one-half link too large or one-half link too small for me. What ever happened to the half links like on the Seamaster Pro? Also, I think someone said that the 45mm version didn't have "Planet Ocean" engraved on the clasp. Mine from Andrew doesn't. I'll break out the photo gear tomorrow for some photos.
